I think it's a harsh one, if he gets a penalty for that I think it is a harsh one.

Vettel has been called in front of the stewards for destroying the scales.
It doesn't look like such a compromising tyre strategy for anyone tomorrow - unless it rains at the start of the race tomorrow of course and they can switch to wets and inters - the top six, except from Vettel are starting on softs, while Vettel and the rest of the top 10 start on supersofts.

If Ferrari can qualify on pole from this position then they will go into the race tomorrow holding all the cards.

Charles Leclerc had nothing to lose. Magnussen thought the track was too wet to improve and Leclerc thought otherwise. He was proved right this time.
Fernando Alonso speaking to Sky Sports: "It's the same for everyone, we've been slow in practice nothing we can do now other than try to improve for tomorrow, we need some rain or something for a crazy race.
"If I can wish something maybe eight stops with rain and stop, rain and stop, if we start last we could take some risk and gamble a little bit on strategy."

Ferrari power has looked very strong on this circuit. Vettel is right there on the pace running soft tyres.
It's over for Q2. Now it's the race for pole.
Bottas was quickest in Q2 then, but Charles Leclerc was the only driver to improve on his time as the rain is causing a little bit of havoc for tyre strategy.

Sirotkin's qualifying session is baulked because of that move from Hamilton. It's so close to a really big crash. Having seen the replay I can't see how it could not be a penalty.

He's the only one who improved on that lap in the supersofts, and he's got himelf into Q3.
Q2
As for rain and tyres, Vettel said there were big raindrops at Turns 13-14, but they're all still on soft and supersoft tyres for now, as it's not quite wet enough for inters or wets, but Q2 is the stage where whatever tyre they record their quickest lap on, those are the boots they start on.

Red Bull have just put a lap of pain on the tyres they want to use tomorrow so it is a double whammy for them as they have not improved their position.
Well, what more can we say?

It's a slam-dunk grid penalty for Hamilton for me. He's just been indecisive - he was letting cars through but then just moved to the left as Sirotkin was approaching.

Good effort from Raikkonen - only three tenths slower than the Mercedes on the soft tyre.
Gamble from the Ferraris but they are quick, really quick on the soft tyres.
Q2
"A bit more rain now, now it's heavy rain at 13 and 14, big drops."

Two issues for Hamilton there, he very nearly drove into the back of Sergey Sirotkin's Williams. The Russian isn't happy, and that might result in a chat with the stewards later.
After that, it was a little swerve with Raikkonen.
