Mark: Arsenal need 11 more goals to be equal with City. How close are they going to get in the next 50 minutes?

Anon: Chelsea playing like a Sunday League team, and a bad one at that.

    Jordan: Potter in?

    Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea

Noni Madueke leads a breakaway for Chelsea and plays a ball into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but, much to the delight of the home fans, it's a shocking first touch from the ex-Arsenal man.

The ball bounces over the foot of Aubameyang and the ball rolls away for a goal kick.

Anon: Chelsea won't be reaching 40 points this season at this rate...

Daniel: Chelsea fans can count themselves very fortunate Boehly didn't pull the trigger on his managerial masterplan a few weeks earlier or they'd be in actual genuine danger of being relegated.

Jesus clatters Wesley Fofana with a wayward arm into the face, before Raheem Sterling then wipes out Jesus with a late challenge.

Referee Robert Jones keeps his cards in his pocket, but Fofana is going to need some treatment as a result.

Mikel Arteta will be absolutely delighted with the response from his team. They've got the third through persistence. I have to say, Chelsea, absolutely all over the place defending. Players were back but nobody was picking up.

There's Chelsea fans heading for the exits.

Keith: How can a team spend so much money and be this bad? Chelsea are absolutely awful.

Anon: Why would anyone take on the manager's job at Chelsea. They're probably the worst team in the Premier League at the moment.

    Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Emirates Stadium

This is getting embarrassing for Chelsea.

Arsenal are on the charge and fully deserve their 3-0 lead. They have been superior in every respect. In contrast, Chelsea have been abysmal.

It really is hard to fathom how a team that actually does have decent players can be as bad as Chelsea have been here.

    Gabriel Jesus

    Chelsea crumbling. Arsenal cruising.

It's more shocking defending from the visitors, just unable to deal with Ben White's cross from the right. Gabriel Jesus keeps it alive, Granit Xhaka falls over but sends the ball back into Jesus' path and this time he drills it into the back of the net from close range.

If you're being generous that's three assists for Xhaka. It is definitely three goals for Arsenal and, barring an incredible turnaround, three points too.

  9. 'Nobody's defending'published at 20:34 BST 2 May 2023

    Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Middlesbrough & Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a replica of the first goal. A Xhaka cross and a left-footed, first-time finish from Odegaard. You see the Chelsea players, they're all ball-watching, nobody's defending.

    Martin Odegaard

Two assists for Granit Xhaka, two goals for Martin Odegaard and Chelsea, so open at the back, concede again.

It's a very, very similar goal to the first one, Xhaka crosses from the left, Odegaard loses his marker and this time strikes low, first-time, past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea's Thiago Silva, Enzo Fernandez and Ben Chilwell having a very public discussion as who is to blame.

Hemsagarj: That's the worst defending I have ever seen from Chelsea. Arsenal players are having a free run. Nobody is pressing them. Their legs are free to shoot in the penalty area. Chelsea players are letting the ball go in the penalty box. Shame. We can do better.

Jonny: Only three things one can be certain of this season; death, taxes and Chelsea losing to a top-10 team.

Leandro Trossard crosses, Wesley Fofana appears to handle the ball inside the box but neither referee Robert Jones or Andre Marriner in the VAR booth says there's any need to check the incident on the screen. Seen them given.

    But no penalty.

SultanofAba: What we have been missing in the past four games. Co-ordination and intensity.

A great chance for an equaliser. With Chelsea's first attack, Ben Chilwell gets the wrong side of Bukayo Saka and only has Aaron Ramsdale to beat.

Chilwell strikes it across goal and it would've gone in, but for the big hand of a flying Ramsdale to push the ball around the post for a corner.

Will: People comparing this game to significant ones in the past... Chelsea are a shadow of the team they were in their previous worst seasons. If Arsenal don't thrash Chelsea today then they really don't deserve to win the league this year.

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

"You're going down," is the taunting chant from the home fans to the Chelsea supporters.

The Blues almost certainly won't get relegated considering they are already on 39 points, nine clear of the drop zone, but, as it stands, it will be played six, lost six, since Frank Lampard returned to the hotseat.

An absolutely brilliant strike. He waits at the edge of the box, takes a step back and launches himself into it. It's hit with power and curl and it's a wonderful strike.

Kepa sees it late and only gets his fingertips to it.

    It had been coming.

Martin Odegaard, from just inside the penalty area, curls a lovely strike past Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the ball going in off the underside of the bar, making it look even better.

The assist goes to Granit Xhaka, who found the Norwegian with a square pass from the left side of the penalty area and it's 1-0 to the Arsenal.

A chance for Arsenal and Bukayo Saka sends a looping header at goal. It is creeping in just under the bar before Kepa Arrizabalaga gets his hands to parry it away. It falls to Gabriel Jesus only a few yards out, but Chelsea manage to clear the danger.
