As it stands, though, Leicester are moving off the bottom of the table and up to 10th.

This really would be a massive win for Willie Kirk's side.

Leicester pressed Liverpool so well all over the pitch in that first half.

Perhaps the only concern for them - and the only glimmer of hope for Liverpool - is whether they can keep that up for 90 minutes or if the effects will take their toll later on?

Liverpool have failed to score a first-half goal in 12 of their 18 games, only Leicester City WFC (13) and Reading (13) have failed to score more often in the English Women's Super League this season.

Liverpool have been better in the second half of games and they will have to be today.

You're in a relegation battle and there's certain games where nobody should need to motivate you. This is a big three points. I've just been so impressed by the fact Leicester have sustained it.

Matt Beard looked a very dejected figure. That looked like a man who didn't know what to do, his players haven't turned up today.

The half-time whistle is greeted by huge cheers and applause from the home fans because Leicester have been excellent.

Goals from Josie Green and Carrie Jones have them two up against Liverpool.

There was an element of luck in deflections for both goals but no one could argue that they don't deserve to be at least two ahead.

More Leicester pressure to end the half as Liverpool struggle to fully clear a couple of corners and ended up penned in again.

Liverpool have got nothing on the bench to come on and change it in my opinion. Carla Humphrey has barely played any minutes in this season, Rhiannon Roberts is more a defensive option.

Her shot beats Rachael Laws but is headed off the line.

Better from Liverpool since that delay. They win a free-kick midway inside the Leicester half.

Carrie Jones committed the foul and is shown the first yellow card of the game.

Shanice van de Sanden's cross is deflected behind and Liverpool have a corner.

Even that doesn't go to plan though as Leicester keeper Janina Leitzig comes out to claim it.

If Liverpool are to get anything out of this game they've got to make something happen now to take something out of Leicester's momentum. They're in full-flow.

A chance for Liverpool to regroup as Leicester's Aileen Whelan goes down and needs treatment.

Whelan hurt herself trying to put the rebound in at the end of that goalmouth scramble.

But it looks as though she'll be OK to continue.

How has that not gone in!?! Liverpool fail to deal with a Leicester free-kick and after some panicky defending, the ball falls to Remy Siemsen inside the six-yard box.

Somehow Rachael Laws manages to turn the shot against the post but it still takes a massive saving tackle to stop the rebound being put into the empty net.

I have no idea how it isn't 3-0!

Matt Beard throws his arms out in disgust on the touchline. The Liverpool manager looked to be questioning a decision from the referee but it might just as easily been directed at his team.

It's all got a bit scrappy but even so, it is Leicester winning the scrap.

Liverpool have barely been able to string two passes together.

Leicester are all over Liverpool. Matt Beard must be absolutely spitting feathers down there because Liverpool are absolutely atrocious today.

As I write that, Liverpool attack down the right and CJ Bott has to get up to make a crucial clearing header as the cross comes in.

She couldn't afford to miss that, Katie Stengel was all alone behind her.

Liverpool are reeling and Leicester, roared on by the home crowd, are smelling blood.

They're on the front foot again and looking for a third goal to kill this game off.

I thought they'd missed the chance. She's taken the shot and to be honest it was the pigeonhole, a little too high for Rachael Laws off the bar.
