No animosity towards Marsch, he's a decent manager. But Leeds don't have the squad to survive in the PL with just a decent manager. They need better. That's the issue.

Danny Ings has a shot charged down and Leeds break quickly with three versus two. They get into the box and Brenden Aaronson gets a shot off but it is blocked by Tyrone Mings.
Leeds are picking up where they left off.

Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford on Sky Sports: "It feels like a matter of time before Leeds are able to get in behind and put the ball in the net if Aston Villa continue to sit deep."
Image source, OptaThese were the average positions of the 24 players (because of the two Villa changes) that we saw in the first half. Danny Ings (black, nine), one of those subs, is the only Villa player whose average position was in the Leeds, while Leeds have eight (purple circles) in the Villa half on average.

Rodrigo tries to hook the ball down the line for Jack Harrison to chase but it is a bit of a lazy pass and the ball goes out for a throw.
I've just seen four Aston Villa players in the Leeds half, so that's a start.

Bamford to come on and score and Rodrigo to make it 2-1 anyone? Seems eminently possible to me.

Can Leeds turn their first-half dominance to a goal or two in this half?
We're back under way.

Villa are winning. Thats the only positive we can take so far. Leeds have dominated but i feel it may be a chanced missed for them. Villa tend to play well for 45 minutes and they can't be as bad as that in the 2nd half.

Aston Villa's average position map shows they've had all but one outfield player back in their own half. Surely only a matter of time before Leeds scores unless Villa change things.

As a neutral, this has been a very entertaining game so far. However, the home team are getting all the decisions here. Leeds can feel very hard done by. Blatant penalty ignored. And Gnonto is getting kicked from pillar to post and not winning any free kicks. Michael Oliver needs to start giving some protection to the young Italian or else something unpleasant might happen.

Leeds are on the left, with Villa on the right.
Somehow, Villa lead at the break.

Leeds fans are so fickle. Bielsa was the man, then he was rubbish. Marsch was the man for keeping them up, now he's the enemy. Understand that it's the people above that are letting you down.

Image source, OptaThis is Wilfried Gnonto's first half chalkboard and shows how much he has hugged the left wing, and taken on Ashley Young. The squares show his passes, with green completed and red unsuccessful passes. The circle and blue line represents a blocked shot. He's attempted five dribbles (the triangles), but only one has been successful. He's also won one foul, shown by the pentagon.
Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville on Sky Sports, talking about Leeds winger Wilfried Gnonto: "He is absolutely fantastic. It is the first time I've seen him live, and knowing what a good left winger is, his movement to get on the ball and his body shape to receive the ball is absolutely fantastic.
"He is tenacious as well. That is what you want from your players.
"He is saying 'come on, Ashley Young is booting the hell out of me'. Ashley Young will, that's what I'd do against a 19-year-old who looks as good as he looks.
"His movement has been really good. I could watch him all day long. He knows the game already at 19. He knows the position he's playing in. He's hanging right on the line of offside and making it difficult for Young and making those double movements."
Manchester United
Manchester United have completed the loan signing of Burnley and Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst until the end of the season.
He has been on loan at Besiktas this season, scoring nine goals and assisting four times in 18 appearances.
“I feel privileged to be joining Manchester United," said Weghorst.
"I’ve played against the club in the past and it’s a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous red shirt. I’ve seen United’s progress under Erik ten Hag this season and can’t wait to start playing my part in pushing the team towards its aims.
“Whatever happens in the next few months, I can promise to give everything to the club for as long as I am here. I thank everyone who has played a part in getting me to this stage, and now I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and getting involved straight away.”

I don’t know what Leeds fans are complaining about. They’re absolutely dominating this game. I’d be happy if I was in the Leeds end right now.

The whistle goes for half time and Aston Villa will be mightily relieved to be heading down the tunnel with their lead intact.

Jon Evans: Martinez makes a huge difference to Villa. Olsen would've been the other side of the goal for that. Great keeping. Not liking the living on the edge here.
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
There's seven minutes of time added on, by the way, after that long stoppage to deal with Lucas Digne's injury.
Still time for Leeds to get an equaliser their performance has deserved in this half. Aston Villa have done almost nothing since scoring.
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Rodrigo is wheeling away celebrating because he thinks he has equalised for Leeds as he sweeps in after a shot was denied by Emi Martinez.
The goal is ruled out for offside however, with the VAR check showing he was just off when he chested the ball back for the initial shot before he turned in.
Leeds are knocking on the door, however. Half time comes at the worst time for them.
