I think West Ham have to climb away from the relegation zone before you can consider them the best of the rest.

Zahi: All the hype about Newcastle after their win but I honestly believe West Ham are ‘the best of the rest’. They had a rough start but they’re a quality squad & have the most underrated manager in world football not to mention a true gentleman.

Mark: Unai Emery will now have managed Sevilla, Villareal, and Aston Villa. Is this a new "record" for a manager? 3 teams with "Villa" in the name?
Fouad: Good evening, Unai Emery is back!
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Aaron Cresswell takes a corner and it bobbles around with the home fans shouting for a penalty. Lewis Cook couldn't have done much about it as he ball hit his arm while he was on his knees so no pen.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Ryan Christie cuts the ball back for Marcus Tavernier on the right wing but the Bournemouth man curls an ambitious shot well over.

Good save by Neto although it wouldn't have counted.
Gianluca Scamacca runs down the left and squares for Tomas Soucek, whose fist-time shot in his stride is parried away by the keeper.
The offside flag goes up, although Scamacca was borderline so VAR would have been involved had that gone in.
Aston Villa
Aaron Danks will take charge of Aston Villa at Newcastle United this weekend.
Unai Emery will start working next week as he waits for his work permit to come through.
Danks won his first game in charge 4-0. No pressure on his second (and final) game...
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
West Ham are inches away from taking the lead twice.
Ben Johnson runs down the right and blasts in a cross. It ends up at the feet of Flynn Downes, whose shot is blocked, and Aaron Cresswell then drives a shot from the corner of the box which is tipped over by Neto.
Villa hire Emery
Chris Sutton
Former Aston Villa striker on 5 Live's Monday Night Club
Unai Emery may come in but I still think that the expectation is still so great on any Villa manager because of the past and the history. I think it’s a tough job for him, I really do. The Villa job is not an easy one.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
A couple of almost moments for West Ham around the box. Bournemouth counter but Marcus Tavernier overhits his cross.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Death, taxes and people tweeting in when you accidentally say the wrong goalkeeper's name.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
I've never thought about it before but Lukasz Fabianski looks like a Londoner. Could imagine him in Eastenders. Down the Queen Vic or whatever.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Chance for West Ham as Aaron Cresswell crosses from the left and Tomas Soucek heads over. Classic West Ham combo of recent years.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Dominic Solanke goes close to giving Bournemouth the lead.
He drops deep to get things going and finds Ryan Fredericks on the right. The ex-West Ham defender crosses and keeper Lukasz Fabianski reacts quickly to close down Solanke before he can finish.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
West Ham have a free-kick on the left wing. Aaron Cressell runs over it and Said Benrahma tries to catch the keeper out but shoots into the side-netting.
West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth
Lovely turn from West Ham's Gianluca Scamacca on the edge of the box as he takes an Aaron Cresswell pass but his cross is cut out.
He's good in the air and with his feet, the Italian.

Not much early action here. Both teams have had spells with the ball in midfield.
