Steve: How is that not handball? Not natural position, had time to move them and pushed it goal wards.

Field: That's a deliberate hand ball. He scoops the ball away from his body with both hands! The new law doesn't matter if it's deliberate. Which it very clearly was. The game is dead!

Jon: He's played volleyball with that.

Not a vintage half of football and not a vintage goal, it's gone West Ham's way. Corner came in, Bournemouth had three or four chances to get it away, they didn't. Soucek sent it into the six yard box and Kurt Zouma glanced it in from close range.

There is a VAR check to see if Thilo Kehrer handled it but the decision is GOAL STANDS.

    West Ham lead.

    Kurt Zouma

West Ham take the lead as a corner is played in and Tomas Soucek heads it onto Flynn Downes, who knocks it to Kurt Zouma, who gets the goal.

But did Thilo Kehrer handle it initially?

Dominic Solanke is down again. This is my fault for signing him in fantasy football.

    Kieffer Moore replaces him.

Pinball as West Ham's Said Benrahma cuts in and blasts a shot into the mixer. It could land anywhere but it falls to a Bournemouthian, who clears.

Peter: All the best to Emery at Villa. It was his bad luck to be at Arsenal the same time as the poisonous Aubameyang. Ozil wasn't much help either.

MM: Good luck to Emery, seems like a nice guy, Arsenal was too big for him.

Mubeen: Unai Emery refused to take the Newcastle job last year because of the Villarreal project. No loyalty in football.

Dominic Solanke goes off the pitch and he's in talks with Gary O'Neil.

There is some suggestion Neto might come off too.

Actually Solanke is back on now. He's trying to run this off.

Dominic Solanke hurt himself while Thilo Kehrer tackled him there and the physios are on. It looks like an ankle injury. Kieffer Moore is getting ready.

Good run by Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke to run onto a loose ball in midfield and beat defender Thilo Kehrer although his shot from a tight angle is saved by Lukasz Fabianksi.

  14. 'Unai Emery has unfinished business in the Premier League'published at 20:37 BST 24 October 2022

    Villa hire Emery

    Guillem Balague

Villa fans should be very, very excited. You are talking about one of the best managers in the world. You have to say that. He has tested himself in different leagues, in Russia, France, England and Spain. He has never made a team worse, put it that way.

When Unai was at Arsenal, he equalled the kind of stats that Arsene Wenger had before. He started really well and then everyone will have their own opinions but I think Unai wasn't probably backed with the decisions he had to make at Arsenal but he prepared the next manager for what had to be done. Literally as well, I think Unai offered Arteta his house!

But he realised there was unfinished business in the Premier League and he did say no when Newcastle approached him but there was a personal issue with that. He wanted to be closer to his son after being a way from him for a while and it didn't feel right to leave Villarreal at that point. Now it is a different story. He has taken Villareal possibly to the top that they can be, winning a Europa League as well and the lure of the Premier League continues.

Actually Neto hurt himself a minute or two while clearing the ball but only went down after that shot went wide.

Worrying for Bournemouth as goalkeeper Neto goes down. He watches Thilo Kehrer shoot wide from long range and seems to have hurt himself somewhere in that.

West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca does well to hold up a long ball, although he lacks the pace to burst forward himself, and Said Benrahma's cross is cut out.

Bournemouth caretaker Gary O'Neil talks to his players as they make the most of this injury break. Adam Smith is fine now.

O'Neil has done a remarkable job, losing just one of seven games, since old boss Scott Parker suggested this team just weren't good enough for the Premier League.
