  1. Davidson wants 'fighting spirit' from Saintspublished at 19:37 GMT 15 February 2022

    Aberdeen v St Johnstone (19:45)

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson tells BBC Sportsound: "I want the boys to go in with fighting spirit and determination, and to show some more composure in the game.

"You always have a few ways a game can go [when playing a team with the manager leaving], we obviously just want the three points.

"It'll be a really tough game. Refereeing decisions have cost us recently.

"We’ve got a really good squad so hopefully everyone can stay fit."

I think it will be key for St Johnstone to try and put pressure on Aberdeen's defence, they can't let them get settled.

Stephen Glass's reign is over. But Aberdeen fans, who do you want to see replace him?

    Jim Goodwin?

    Jack Ross?

    Neil Lennon?

    Paul Lambert?

    Derek Adams?

Barry Ferguson (I'm sure that one would go down well with Dons supporters).

Or should the club take a risk on an expensive appointment who may not have great knowledge of the Scottish game, but would come with a great pedigree?

Kjetil Knutsen is in Scotland this week with Celtic's European Conference League opponents Bodo/Glimt.

Here's one - Slavisa Jokanovic. The Serbian is a free agent after leaving Sheffield United in November. A title winner in his homeland and Thailand, and led Watford and Fulham to promotion from the English Championship.

If Aberdeen can put a run together there's no reason they can't be in the top six, if not even going for that fourth place spot

Murray Davidson also doesn't make the squad, while defenders Tom Sang and Tony Gallagher are dropped to the bench.

Callum Booth does return in the back line along with James Brown, and midfielders Jacob Butterfield and Melker Hallberg start.

  9. Welcomepublished at 19:00 GMT 15 February 2022

    Aberdeen v St Johnstone (19:45)

Welcome to tonight's coverage of Aberdeen against St Johnstone.

Not wishing to undersell the game, but these games are not known for their goals - it has been two tight 1-0 wins for either side in the two clashes already this season.

But, it is a huge three points on offer.

Aberdeen, in their first game after relieving Stephen Glass of his managerial duties, still have their eye on a European place. St Johnstone though, who are bottom of the league, could drag them into the relegation zone if they can repeat their Pittodrie win from earlier in the season.
