    Jordan Ayew

    Leveller.

Wilfried Zaha drills a cross to the back post and Jordan Ayew slides in to convert.

BUT...'you know who' is having a look at it.

  2. CLOSE!published at 21:30 BST 16 July 2020

    Southampton 0-1 Brighton

Oof, lovely strike from Jake Vokins from 25 yards out but it drifts just wide.

    Someone pressed the celebration button.

Paul: VAR would soon have checked and give that Palace penalty if it was up other end with Utd wanting a penalty.

Field: Utter nonsense saying that's a pen. Zaha had the ball kicked from between his legs. Its excellent last ditch defending. You could argue he touches man and ball at same time but its a contact sport!

There is no penalty controversy. Lindelof played the ball with a perfectly timed challenge - move on.

I've just got home to see the Palace penalty shout. What on earth is going on with our beautiful game?!

    Jamie

VAR is highlighting how incompetent our officials are week in week out. Don't scrap VAR. Scrap them and bring in some officials with eyes.

Had another look at the Victor Lindelof challenge on Wilfried Zaha.

Doesn't look like he gets the ball, but does bring down the man.

VAR had more looks at it than I did and still didn't give the decision.

  11. 'Palace have lacked clinical edge'published at 21:10 BST 16 July 2020

HT: Crystal Palace 0-1 Man Utd

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

With Man United possessing that quality, they only need one opportunity and it fell to Rashford - who's probably been the best out of the front three do far - and he just kept his composure, and that's something he's added to his game.

Man United haven't been at the races and Crystal Palace have done well but have lacked that clinical edge and end product in the final third themselves. I think they should have had a penalty and they'll be frustrated.

Just looking back at the Palace shout for a penalty - I think it is a penalty. Zaha was brought down and he's got every right to be annoyed. Manchester United have gone the other end, punished Crystal Palace and got a goal.

Palace have the chance to level immediately but Luka Milivojevic's free-kick, which seems to happen in slow motion, is tipped out by David de Gea's flying save.

That was bound for the top corner.

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-1 Man Utdpublished at 45 mins

    Marcus Rashford

    Delightful.

United have not been at their best but break the deadlock on the stroke of half-time.

It is another assist for Bruno Fernandes, laying the ball on for Dr Marcus Rashford's run inside the area.

The England international seems to lose it but then with a stunning turn which leaves goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, Joel Ward and Patrick van Aanholt needing a buy a ticket to get back into the ground, strokes a finish into the bottom corner.

Much better from Victor Lindelof on this occasion, keeping his eye on the ball as Wilfried Zaha wriggles right and left and threatens to have a crack at goal, but the Swede puts in a well-timed challenge to avert the danger.

  20. 'We were way-off'published at 20:57 BST 16 July 2020

    Leicester 2-0 Sheffield Utd

    Alistair Magowan
BBC Sport at King Power Stadium

Chris Wilder is absolutely fuming with Sheffield United's display.

"We were way-off from first minute to the 94th-minute," he said. "I don't know what happened, I haven't got a clue. I will try and find answers, you had better ask the players."

Asked if it was the worst display of the season, he said: "It feels like it, it looked like it in my eyes, it was right up there. My eyesight is not that bad and it was nowhere near what I expect."
