Brilliant play from Liam Polworth. He puts the corner in and it's cleared back out to him. He fakes the shot and brings it back inside, he fakes again, then he smashes it in at the near post

    Motherwell 0-1 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson

    Quote Message

There's a notable difference in energy levels between this Motherwell side before Christmas and how they look now. They looks hesitant and their movement off the ball isn't sharp. A team that are lacking confidence.

    Motherwell 0-1 St Mirren

    Steven Thompson
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's all about the delivery. The delivery from Durmus on the left-hand side was inch perfect. Obika doesn't have to do too much in terms of movement. He's drifted in between the two centre-halfs

  7. 'St Mirren have been the better side'published at 20:04 GMT 18 February 2020

    Motherwell 0-1 St Mirren

    James McFadden

    Quote Message

Durmus puts the ball in to an area to allow Obika to just run on to it. You would have to say that St Mirren have probably been the better side

After early Well pressure, St Mirren have been edging themselves into the game and take the lead when Ilkay Durmus supplies a fine cross for Jonathan Obika to finish.

This is a huge game, but it's one that you expect Motherwell to be up for. Mugabi has to relax a bit and not worry about big cross-field passes if they're not on

  15. 'Watt can cause problems'published at 19:45 GMT 18 February 2020

    Motherwell v St Mirren (19:45)

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Normally, you would say Motherwell's front line is an advantage, but there have been a few changes to it. If Tony Watt is at it then he'll cause problems. Ross McIver has been doing well in the reserves this season. He's played in a couple of games and scored on his debut, but I like Obika up front for St Mirren too

  19. Pitch will be no excuse for either side - Robinsonpublished at 19:34 GMT 18 February 2020

    Motherwell v St Mirren (19:45)

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson is wary of how much the Fir Park surface will impact the match.

"It probably looks better than what it is until you stand on it," he tells BBC Scotland. "It will have a bearing for both teams, so we'll have to make sure we handle the conditions.

"We like to get the ball down, pass it about and we will like to try and implement our style and game on St Mirren. But they're a team that want to pass it about as well. So it will be no excuse on our part."
