  1. Postpublished at 20:14 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

Rangers' pressing of Hibs is proving really effective. Whenever the home defenders are in possession, they can't plot a route to a team-mate, their options extinguished by the red jerseys flying across the paddock.

  2. 'Kent has been unplayable'published at 20:10 GMT 20 December 2019

    Quote Message

Ryan Kent has been unplayable. He's picking up the ball in so many dangerous areas because he isn't being predictable. Borna Barisic could probably be moving forward more and causing issues down the left but Kent has been superb.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:09 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

And now it really should be 3-0. More sumptuous interplay puts Joe Aribo through on goal, but Ofir Marciano gets out and gets down to block the shot with his legs.

Rangers are running Hibs ragged here. They're classier, faster, hungrier and exploiting gaps all over the park.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:06 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

Rangers within a whisker of a third goal. Ryan Kent's driven low shot from the edge of the box has real venom, but Ryan Porteous sticks out a leg to divert it wide and Hibs get rid of the corner.

  5. Postpublished at 20:04 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

A rare foray forward for Hibs results in Borna Barisic wildly hacking down Martin Boyle. Stevie Mallan lines up the free-kick from around 25 yards, just right of centre, but swings his effort well wide.

The early goal blew Hibs to bits. The passing game from Rangers has been superb. The movement has been brilliant.

  8. 'Just outstanding'published at 19:59 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

    Gary Caldwell

    Quote Message

Rangers have been outstanding. To come away from home in a high-pressure game and play the way they have is just outstanding. They just look so hungry. Ryan Kent in particular.

  9. Rangers rampantpublished at 19:59 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

The away end is rocking, the home stands deathly silent. Rangers are just waltzing through Hibs at will here. The hosts can't get out of their own box.

Jermain Defoe has a pot-shot from 20-odd yards that gets deflected behind and Hibs just about clear from the corner that follows.

It's a stunning goal from Rangers. Paul Hanlon is the deepest one for Hbs and was playing Ryan Jack onside. Joe Aribo just drifted in. It's a lovely little pull back and if the first finish was good the second one is even better.

    Joe Aribo

Just like that, it's 2-0! Rangers are flying. If the first goal was a gift, the second is gloriously worked.

Joe Aribo plays in Ryan Jack up the right flank, the midfielder caresses back to his unmarked colleague who steers a fantastic shot high into the top corner with his left foot.

That was a cracking bit of play. Hibs could be in for an absolute hiding here.

Kent has stepped up tonight. We've been talking about him so much and he's already made his mark. A really impressive finish.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:52 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-1 Rangers

A rousing response to that early shocker from Hibs, Flo Kamberi twisting into the box and blasting off the near post from a very acute angle.

Then Scott Allan weaves his way to the edge of the box but drags his shot well wide.

  14. 'It's a disaster for Hibs'published at 19:51 GMT 20 December 2019

It's a disaster for Hibs. A terrible mistake from Marciano. The ball got played back to him and he thought he had more time. The finish from Kent is outstanding. It wasn't easy.

    Ryan Kent

Oh my. Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. What a howler from Ofir Marciano.

If Ryan Kent wanted a Christmas present, the big Hibs goalkeeper has gift-wrapped one inside four minutes.

The stopper gets caught in possession under no pressure, Joe Aribo blocks his clearance, and Kent calmly and neatly steers in the opening goal first-time from the edge of the box. It's a blunder of apocalyptic proportions.

  16. Starting with a bangpublished at 19:47 GMT 20 December 2019

End-to-end stuff in the opening couple of minutes. Joe Aribo picks up possession on the angle of the Hibs box but is well tackled by Paul Hanlon.

That sets up a Hibs counter with Martin Boyle scampering up the right. His deep, floated cross is easily gobbled up by Allan McGregor.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 GMT 20 December 2019

We're off! Scott Allan gets the game under way. What does this typically feisty fixture have in store for us tonight?

Here we go, then. Out come the teams, Hibs in their green, Rangers in their red change strips.

  19. 'The media are waiting for it'published at 19:43 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Inevitably, Steven Gerrard is asked how his team will cope without the suspended Alfredo Morelos.

"I'm sure the media and everyone out there are waiting for it. We're aware of that. But if we can go and put in a good team performance and individuals can step up and execute in the final third without Alfredo then people may have to wait and not write the headlines they want to write."

  20. 'Hibs are different team' - Gerrardpublished at 19:40 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard expects a "different challenge" from the 6-1 thumping his team administered to 10-man Hibs early in the campaign.

"When we played them at Ibrox they didn't have much confidence about them and we obviously won the game very comfortably," he tells BT Sport.

"They're a different team under the new manager and that will certainly give them a lift. They've picked a very bold, attacking team so the threat is certainly there. If we can handle that then I'm sure our opportunities will come."
