    Quote Message

Rangers are just being a little safe now. They're keeping possession. In the first half they played risky, intricate passes that cut Hibs apart. Now they're just playing from side to side.

  3. Barker makes Easter Road returnpublished at 21:19 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

I think this is what you might call "trolling" now. Rangers, 3-0 up and completely humiliating Hibs, have just brought on Brandon Barker, who was a darling of the Easter Road support during his loan season here in 2017-18.

Not only is it a sickener for Hibs fans to see him in the colours of a fierce rival, but he's so ridiculously fast that he'll surely cause the weary home defence even more problems.

  4. On comes Ojopublished at 21:17 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

Joe Aribo's race in run - and a very good race it has been too. On comes Sheyi Ojo. No let-up for the Hibs defenders, who must be desperate to get off this pitch and up the road

  5. Tempers flare after Porteous clatteringpublished at 21:15 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

These are the scenes on the touchline in the immediate aftermath of Ryan Porteous' dismissal. Steven Gerrard was absolutely livid with the challenge.

  6. Will Rangers stick or twist?published at 21:11 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

    Gary Caldwell

    Quote Message

We'll learn a lot about Rangers here. Are they the kind of team that want to go on and win by five or six. Or do they just want to coast.

  7. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 21:11 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

Poor Borna Barisic is taking an awful kicking tonight - quite literally. After being melted by Porteous, Jason Naismith treads on the full-back's toes as he tries to nick the ball away. That looked damn sore too. Barisic is down again but he's going to carry on.

  8. CLOSE!published at 21:09 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

The first of what you can only assume will be an absolute barrage of Rangers shots since Porteous' dismissal is fired towards Ofir Marciano.

Scott Arfield has a crack from the edge of the box, but it's a tame effort and easily held by Marciano.

  10. 'Porteous has taken the easy way out'published at 21:08 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Ryan Porteous shouldn't be looking for applause as he walks off. He has taken the easy way out there. It's already hard enough for Hibs.

  11. Poteter and Culshaw sent to the standspublished at 21:07 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

Meanwhile, as Nick Walsh tries to sort out the touchline chaos, Hibs assistant coach John Potter and Rangers coach Tom Culshaw are sent to the stands.

Hibs bring on Darren McGregor for Scott Allan to plug the hole left by Porteous.

This is going to be a very, very long half-hour for the home side.

  12. Items thrown at Barisicpublished at 21:05 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

The television pictures we're seeing show that items have been thrown from the home stands towards Borna Barisic while he was receiving treatment after that mad Porteous tackle.

  13. RED CARD Ryan Porteouspublished at 21:01 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

That is an unbelievably wild challenge from Ryan Porteous, who does have form for this sort of reckless lunge.

The Hibs defender goes through the ball and the shin of Borna Barisic at ridiculous pace. The Rangers left-back is writhing around and the away staff are irate. Both sets of coaches have to be separated.

  14. Naismith at fault for Rangers' thirdpublished at 21:00 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Talk about an easy goal to give away. Naismith is watching Aribo about to place the header and as a full-back he should be checking to see if there is any danger behind him.

  16. 'Defoe has done that all his career'published at 20:58 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

    Gary Caldwell
    Former Scotland defender on Sportsound

    Quote Message

He's done it his whole career. It's a great goal and it has probably ended the game.

  17. Hibs fans have had enoughpublished at 20:58 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-3 Rangers

The attendance inside Easter Road has dropped by a fair number in the wake of that Defoe goal. There are slews of Hibs fans cascading down the stairs and off into the night, making good their escape from this festive horror show.

  18. goal

GOAL Hibernian 0-3 Rangerspublished at 20:55 GMT 20 December 2019

    Jermain Defoe

Game. Over. Jermain Defoe drives a dagger into the chest of Hibs. It's the sort of ruthless piece of finishing Defoe has produced for year after year.

He takes down a looping cross at the back post, jinks inside Jason Naismith, and powers low into the net off the inside of the post. That's four goals in two games against Hibs for England striker.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:54 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

Hibs might have started brightly, but its Rangers who create the biggest chance of the second half so far. Joe Aribo is put galloping deep into Hibs' territory, skips past Paul Hanlon, but gets the finish all wrong with Lewis Stevenson racing back to apply the finish.

  20. A fourth booking for Hibspublished at 20:53 GMT 20 December 2019

    Hibernian 0-2 Rangers

Melker Hallberg joins Martin Boyle, Jason Naismith and Lewis Stevenson in Nick Walsh's book. The Swede chopped down Scott Arfield and is duly sanctioned when play stops.
