Vicente Guaita did go down early and would not have been able to get back up to palm it away if it hadn't dipped like it did.

That didn't quite have enough power from Deulofeu too trouble the goalkeeper too much.

Gerard Deulofeu goes close again, whipping a free kick from around 25 yards out - and on an angle - onto target but only to see Vicente Guaita dive to his right for a comfortable save.

But there's a delay now as Jose Holebas is caught on the ankle by Andros Townsend, and the Watford man is calling for a physio straight away.

It was a super delivery once again from Holebas, the goalkeeper makes another mistake and doesn't deal with it.

It was too easy for Watford and for Etienne Capoue.

That was a combination of 10 minutes of intense and constant pressure from the home side.

    It was a goalkeeping error..

    Etienne Capoue

Vicente Guaita flaps at yet another corner and the ball rebounds back towards Etienne Capoue.

He's moving back away from goal, just in front of the penalty spot, but manages to flick out a foot and send the ball back beyond the Palace keeper for a deserved lead!

Lovely skill from Gerard Deulofeu gives him a bit of space, after a step-over, to feed Troy Deeney.

I don't see how these balloons will affect the play, they'll just blow away.

I suppose some of them are as big as a beach ball.

Harry the Hornet is a very excitable mascot, who has given him a pitchfork to pop the balloons?!

Watford have their first corner, but it's delayed as Kevin Friend gives Etienne Capoue a bit of a talking-to.

When it does finally arrive, it's disappointing - it curls all the way over the area, but Watford get the ball back and keep the pressure on. Palace are struggling to get out of their own half.

It's that windy that balloons have blown onto the pitch - and mascot Harry the Hornet runs on, armed with a pitchfork, to end the fun by going on a popping spree.

A mascot armed with a pitchfork... can't quite believe I've seen that.

It was good hit from Gerard Deulofeu and then a smart save.

Good play initially from Troy Deeney.

Gerard Deulofeu wriggles into the right hand side of the Palace area, through three defenders and shoots on target, but at point-blank range on the near post, Vicente Guaita stands up well and the shot rebounds away off his chest.

This is better from Palace - Aaron Wan-Bissaka zooms down the right wing to send over a cross that is just a touch too far in front of the onrushing Michy Batshuayi inside the area.

  18. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace

Jose Holebas chips in a free kick into the Palace box, and Will Hughes goes to ground after a tangle with James McArthur.

Deulofeu loses out to Tomkins on the left wing again, and then Etienne Capoue v Max Meyer sees the Palace man barged to the floor for a free kick.

The wind will be a factor, especially early-on in the match but after 20 minutes they should be able to manage the conditions.
