It's so telling. Every time I watch Fulham play there's always been that feeling that they're going to concede.

This evening they started so brightly, went 1-0 up, then all of a sudden you felt they were going to concede when the balls started coming into the box. I think they've got a real issue with physicality in and around the back four.

They haven't got a back four that can cope physically with one v one situations and balls in the air.

Watford

Watford captain Troy Deeney: "Other than the sloppy goal we gave away, it was a complete performance. We were dominant - other than the penalty they felt they should have had in the first half.

"This player [Deulofeu] is top draw. You can see why everyone wants him. He has missed chances in previous games but has never shied away and always tries to improve.

"You can only ever admire that. He deserves all the credit he will get. Today it was all about this guy and nothing to do with me.

"We just have to keep going and keep pushing forward. I want to keep proving that I am still hungry and I have desire to be here. I am grateful to be a part of the team. We will enjoy it and keep going. We have a tough game against Liverpool this week.

"We have to tip our hat and say thank you very much to our travelling supporters. To come here on a Friday? I heard the motorway was a bit mad too."

Former Premier League midfielder Jonathan Greening: "Deulofeu was absolutely terrific. Consistency's the key for him. Sometimes when he played for Everton and Barcelona you didn't know which player was going to turn up.

"But tonight he showed skill, pace, creativity, scored three and set one up."

Watford

Watford hat-trick hero Gerard Deulofeu: "I am very happy with the performance. I am happy also for the way the team played. We dominated the game. That is the way to end the season.

"We have to keep going every week. During the season I have missed a lot of chances but today I scored three and improved my finishing. That is the way.

"The season is really good. We have to finish at the same level. We have to keep going and be strong as a team. It is a difficult game on Wednesday."

"We were absolutely shocked they didn't get it and after that Cardiff collapsed."

Fulham

Fulham forward Ryan Babel: "{Big, long sigh.} I feel like every time we start well, everyone's hungry and then we give away cheap goals. That breaks our spirit very quickly and very easy. Not only today, every game since I have been here. We have to try and change that.

"I normally score that one [his chance after 30 seconds] but it was a good save. It's difficult to take the handball, we need VAR here, we have to wait until next season. Disappointing."

The dominance West Ham showed, especially in the first half, maybe takes the edge off the debate over their first goal. But it is still worth talking about because it was a key incident.

Watford were fantastic, Deulofeu was brilliant. Cardiff will look at the penalty they should have had in the first half but in the second half Watford were rampant.

Cardiff were woeful defensively and I would not want to be in their dressing room - Neil Warnock has been raging all night.

The best thing that's happened to Cardiff in this second half. The whistle blows for full-time.

That's the first time Watford have scored five goals in a single match in the Premier League. Maybe those away fans won't mind travelling on a Friday night after all...

But he used all the power of them in this one because there wasn't much on the cross. It's a really good header, to be fair.

Guess what? Neil Warnock is complaining again.

Harry Arter robs the ball off Will Hughes but the referee blows for a foul. Arter sarcastically applauds the decision.
