  1. Sweeping changes in just six weekspublished at 19:18 GMT 20 November 2018

    Scotland v Israel (19:45)

The Scotland team is much changed from that night in Haifa just last month.

There are only three survivors from the line-up; goalkeeper Allan McGregor, captain Andy Robertson and midfielder Callum McGregor.

Seven starters from the 2-1 loss are out through injury and Johnny Russell is on the bench this evening.

  2. Ten-man Scots suffer in Israelpublished at 19:14 GMT 20 November 2018

    Scotland v Israel (19:45)

Let's get memories of the horror show in Haifa out of the way.

Scotland led at the interval thanks to a Charlie Mulgrew penalty.

The warning signs were there, with Alex McLeish's men struggling for fluency and a second half collapse ended with Kieran Tierney swiping in an ugly own goal.

Prior to that, Dor Peretz equalised and Hearts defender John Souttar was sent off after a second booking.

In truth, Scotland were lucky not to lose by more, with Allan McGregor kept busy and Taleb Twatha somehow hitting the crossbar from close range.

I think they will win two or three tonight, I spoke to a couple of the lads in the camp and they're excited for it, especially after the weekend so I genuinely can't see them losing.

  7. Progress for Scotland Young Teampublished at 18:57 GMT 20 November 2018

    Scotland v Israel (19:45)

There was another Scotland team in action earlier today, with the Under-19s earning a draw with Sweden.

That follows wins over San Marino and Wales, with the team continuing to the next round of the European Championship.

Some of these kids might be in the senior side by the time we get to the Nations League play-offs!

Actually, with Chelsea's Billy Gilmour that might not be as outlandish as it sounds.

  10. A draw will not dopublished at 18:47 GMT 20 November 2018

    Scotland v Israel (19:45)

We've beaten Albania home and away and have scored more goals than Israel, so why is a draw not enough tonight?

That's because the first method of separating sides on the same points is the head-to-head record and Scotland's 2-1 defeat in Haifa in October leaves us short in that department.

Does that mean the visitors will park the bus or will they be confident of doing the double over the Scots?

No surprises. Manager Alex McLeish goes with the same starting XI that hammered Albania 4-0 on Saturday.

  12. Scotland chase victory for top spotpublished at 18:41 GMT 20 November 2018

    Scotland v Israel (19:45)

Scotland's mission is simple. Beat Israel at Hampden and first place in Nations League C, Group 1 is ours. Any other outcome leaves the visitors on top.

It doesn't sound like much of an accolade but there are important consequences, not least a potential second bite at Euro 2020 qualification.

And anything less than winning a three-team group with Israel and Albania is just not on, is it? Manager Alex McLeish said as much from the outset.
