Gordon Reid beat Great Britain team-mate Alfie Hewett in the men's singles final.

Reid, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, on what it feels like to be a gold medallist: “I’m speechless. It doesn't sound real. I'd never felt like I'd played well on the big stage until Australia this year.

"Since then I've enjoyed the pressure situations. It definitely hasn't sunk in yet. As soon as I go away and go in the locker room, I might lose the plot.

"Me and Alfie know each other's games inside out. We know our strengths and weaknesses. Today I felt like anything I tried came off. I was really clear headed. I was playing smart tennis. I saw the ball like a basketball."

Four years ago, Kare Adenegan watched the London Paralympics - now she is a triple Rio medallist.

The youngest member of the GB track and field team, aged only 15, held her nerve to win bronze behind team-mate Hannah Cockroft and American Alexa Halko to add to her 100m silver and 400m bronze.

Adenegan and Cockroft, who now is a triple gold medallist, were both thrilled when they came through the athlete inteview area with their success ensuring ParalympicsGB beat their UK Sport target of 121 medals.

"This was the race I was most nervous about," Adenegan told BBC Radio 5 Live. "But I worked hard and finished strong - I'm so so happy."

It is a guaranteed silver at least for British archer John Walker. So far tonight he has beaten Naci Yenier of Turkey 131-128 in the quarter-final and Germany's Uwe Herter 135-131 in the semi-final.

David Drahoninsky of the Czech Republic is the man who stands between Walker and a gold medal.

Every competitor and member of the support team of ParalympicsGB can be hugely proud of this picture.

It has not been easy, but the hard work has paid off as Great Britain have reached their medal target and still have enough time to smash it to pieces.

Over on the field at the Olympic Stadium, GB also has another medal hopeful competing in the men's F44 discus.

Dan Greaves is looking to upgrade from the silver medal he won in this event four years ago.

And he's not made a bad start with a big throw of 59.57m to lie in a position good enough to earn at least a bronze.

But he'll need an even bigger throw to take the gold as American David Blair leads with 64.11m.

"I have personal bests in all three of my events. This is a two-second PB for me. Hannah is amazing."

Some quotes from Hannah Cockroft, who has just clinched her third gold medal of the Rio Paralympics.

She tells Channel 4: "It was not really the plan coming in, but then I said to my coach that I would sprint the start and see who was left. I just went for it."

On winning her third gold medal of the Games, she adds: "It is absolutely ridiculous, I didn't believe I could do it.

"I don't like the 800m, I really hope we would get rid of this event. I have been really pushed in the last four years. It was amazing fun out there, I'm ready to go again.

"This is me done for the year, so I will see you in London 2017 (for the World Championships)."

Men's 200m individual medley - SM6 gold medallist swimmer Sascha Kindred, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, says: "It's an amazing achievement. When we competed in London and reached the mark we thought it'd be hard to beat.

Hannah Cockroft won gold in the women's 800m T34, with Kare Adenegan taking bronze.

That's just total domination by Hannah Cockroft. She looked like she was going for the world record. In the 800 that's quite difficult unless she has support, or someone close to her pushing her. It's a stunning race from Kare. She's racing with a very mature head on her shoulders.

Hannah Cockroft has frequently insisted that the 800m is her weakest event and that she struggles with tactics but she played this one perfectly.

The double gold medallist from London came into this one with wins in the 100 and 400m and American rival Alexa Halko on her outside.

She took it out strong from the start leaving us in no doubt from early on - nobody was able to keep up with her and she is Britain's latest triple gold medallist.

Before the Games, ParalympicsGB were set the target of winning 121 medals, one more than they achieved at London 2012.

Well, great news, the gold and bronze for Hannah Cockroft and Kare Adenegan takes ParalympicsGB to the magical figure of 121.

What an effort from everyone involved. And there is still two more days to go after today. How high can the total get to?

  13. bronze medal

    Women's T34 800m

A really smart move from the 15 year-old as she uses American Alexa Halko as a draft to overtake Australian Rosemary Little and chase down a medal.

But there's not enough room to overtake Halko as she secures the silver with Adenegan right behind her for bronze.

Good tactics from the Coventry school girl.

However, The race was too quick for world 800m silver medallist Mel Nicholls to be in the medals mix as she crosses the line last in fifth place.

She came for three gold medals, and she has got three gold medals. Great Britain's Hannah Cockroft wins the women's T34 800m.

What a way to win it as well. At the halfway point she held a lead of about 10 metres and maintained her strength to win by almost a second-and-a-half.

She finishes in 2:00:62, a season's best, with American Alexa Halko winning the silver.

Cockroft, 24, has also won gold in the women's 100m T34 and the women's 400m T34 in Rio. Not a bad week's work.

At last year's World Championships in Doha, Great Britain had a clean sweep in the women's T34 800m final with Hannah Cockroft leading home team-mates Mel Nicholls and Kare Adenegan and hopes are high that they can do the same at 22:11 BST.

Victory for Cockroft would make her a triple Paralympic champion here in Rio - and give her a fifth gold overall.

Nicholls had to pull out of the 400m because of injury but hopes to be fit while Adenegan, the youngest member of the track and field team, already has 100m silver and 400m bronze to her name at the age of just 15.
