Charles Leclerc hasn't been on the top step of the podium for a long time, and while he is leading this British Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli is now behind him in the dominant Mercedes.

Leclerc has built a four-second gap, though, so maybe this could be the day he celebrates once again. But then again, we're only on lap 12, so we'll have to wait and see.

  4. Antonelli overtakes Hamiltonpublished at 15:22 BST 5 July

    Lap 11/52

There was only so long Lewis Hamilton could defend from the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. His Ferrari power has drained and the Italian teenager overtakes the seven-time world champion on the inside at Copse.

Antonelli is now second and looking to hunt down the second Scuderia of Charles Leclerc.

  5. Team Radio - Russell to Mercedespublished at 15:22 BST 5 July

At the moment, Kimi Antonelli is stalking Lewis Hamilton in second and third place. It is starting to look like the first few laps of the sprint, when Hamilton led the first nine laps before Antonelli honed in and got past him. Once he is within a second, Antonelli, he'll have the use of the overtake mode which will give you extra electrical recovery and charge through each lap.

Alex Albon is another driver who is pulling a time penalty around with him this afternoon. The Williams driver got a 10-second slap a few laps ago for that contact with Haas' Ollie Bearman.

Lewis Hamilton is being stalked by the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli on the Hangar Straight. The Italian is not going to jump just yet; he'll keep his battery in check and just wait.

This is the interesting part of the race, things have settled down a bit. A long way to go to the pit stop and they do have to look after the tyres if they want the one stop to work for them. They are going to be thinking about how much tyre they are going to use, whether or not they are going to get the overcut or the undercut as we get closer to the pit stops.

    Lap 8/52

Yep. The stewards have given us a decision quickly, and now Lewis Hamilton is carrying a five-second time penalty for a false start in this British Grand Prix.

Hamilton is second, Charles Leclerc is leading by 2.6 seconds and title leader Kimi Antonelli is still in third.

Lewis Hamilton has been noted for a false start, so let's keep an eye on that one. The Ferrari man is still in second, trying to hold up the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli behind him.

Charles Leclerc is building a bit of a gap now and is two seconds up the road on Hamilton.

  14. Leclerc ahead of Hamiltonpublished at 15:13 BST 5 July

    Lap 5/52

Kimi Antonelli was swallowed up by the scarlet cars from lights out, dropping the teenager down to third place at Silverstone.

Charles Leclerc, who is looking for his first win of the 2026 season, is now 1.6 seconds clear of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Oscar Piastri had some front wing damage after his troubled start to this race, so the Australian has got a lot of work to do to get back in the points here.

This is exactly the thing Ferrari were hoping for, to jump the Mercedes at the start. Which they have done. They are typically better at getting off the line than the other teams and now they are able to control things.

    Lap 4/52

Charles Leclerc is nine tenths clear of Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton out in front of Silverstone, with Kimi Antonelli having to be patient in his Mercedes. Wheelspin at the start hindered the Italian but there are plenty of laps left in this British Grand Prix.

Williams' Alex Albon looks to have been the car that made contact with the Haas of Oliver Bearman.

George Russell has had a fantastic start. He's right up there behind the group, behind his team-mate Kimi Antonelli. His contender for the world championship. It is wheel to wheel action.

  18. Verstappen up to P5published at 15:09 BST 5 July

    Lap 3/52

Max Verstasppen is motoring forward in the Red Bull from seventh place. The Dutchman is closing in on team-mate Isack Hadjar and he passes the Frenchman for fifth spot. But a little moment at Copse lets Hadjar back in. Can he pass? No, not this time.

Oscar Piastri will be in recovery mode now from P22.

The Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli is just waiting for a moment to pounce on the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton - just like in the sprint race on Saturday.

Charles Leclerc leads from team-mate Hamilton, with George Russell holding position in fourth.

There was contact on the opening lap and Brit Oliver Bearman seems to have been caught up in it, along with the McLaren of Oscar Piastri.
