Watching the replay, I think he [Gabriel Bortoleto] just twanged the left front too hard against the barrier. That barrier is such a fine line in getting that wrong and it is a really sharp right angle barrier. So even if you get it half a centimetre or millimetre too much left, it will shock the suspension.
Everyone loves a home win so I wouldn't be sad to see Charles do well. But this is also where Hamilton's experience will come into play.
If the Ferrari pit crew are on form, this could break the Mercedes streak.
Gabriel Bortoleto is climbing out of his stricken car and walking back to the paddock after hitting the inside of the barrier and casuing damage to his Audi.
There are two minutes left in this session and the likes of Sergio Perez, Oliver Bearman, Carlos Sainz, Valtteri Bottas, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll are currently in danger.
The session will be resumed in three minutes. Just enough time to boil the kettle.
Charles Leclerc extends his advatnage over Lando Norris at the top of the pile by 0.337 seconds after his latest run. Kimi Antonelli, quickest in third practice, goes into second, but that becomes third, as Max Verstappen crosses the line and goes within 0.197 seconds of Leclerc's Ferrari.
George Russell also improves and moves to seventh on the board but he's nearly second off the pace of Monegasque Leclerc.

You can't disappear your car, you look in your mirrors and you see a car behind you, you have to find a decent place to get out of the way. It is not easy.
George Russell is in 17th place and in the bottom six but the Mercedes driver should pull himself out of danger now. Well, he does, but it's only 10th on the timesheets after a slight twitch at Mirabeau which hampered his lap.
Lando Norris jumps above leader Charles Leclerc with his latest attempt in Q1 but he doesn't last there long, as the Ferrari man wipes out the world champion's time by 0.397 seconds.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is getting ready for his next flying lap from fifth on the timesheets - and he's quickest in the middle sector.
Home hero Charles Leclerc puts himself to the top of the timesheets with a 1:14.41 - all drivers are on the soft compound. The Monegasque driver is followed by McLaren's Lando Norris and the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli, with less than two tenths between the three drivers.
Oliver Bearman goes quickest, which will be a relief for the Haas driver following his shunt in third practice. Isack Hadjar, meawhile, is furious about his preparation lap on the Red Bull team radio. The Frenchman needs to keep a cool head around Monaco, or things could get difficult.

We lost a little bit of time at the end [of third practice], so there was a certain amount of uncertainty at the end of the session, the way it ended. But I think Kimi looks so strong and was able to respond every time. Ferrari have been good so it could be close with Lewis and Charles in the Ferrari and they could very well do a better job than the Mercedes. This could be a decisive race for the championship because Kimi Antonelli should not be dominating things at this stage as such a young driver.
Lewis Hamilton is the early caller in to Q1 radio to tell his pit wall team-mate Charles Leclerc is backing in to him. "Understood" comes the reply from his engineer Carlo Santi, who Hamilton called his "Italian Bono" this weekend.
Do we think there will be any shock knockouts in the first part of qualifying? Six cars will be leaving us at the end of this session, as the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli take to the track.

In a way, you have to have a strategy for qualifying at Monaco. So, the way you go about the race and when you play your joker and all the rest of it, it's really in qualifying that you need a strategy for, because it's technically quite difficult to find clear laps.

How McLaren, on their 1,000th grand prix weekend, would love to see one of their drivers on pole position, just like last year.
World champion Lando Norris snatched pole away from local hero Charles Leclerc in 2025 with the final lap of qualifying, setting a new Monaco track record in the process.
Norris went on to secure his maiden win in the Principality last season but this time around, following a difficult Montreal for the constructors' champions, a seat at the head of the table might be a struggle for either Norris or team-mate Oscar Piastri - but don't count them out.
Whatever happens today, McLaren are in celebration mode, with a special livery and plenty of events marking the milestone.
