That battle in the front has given Lando time to close up and drive a little bit more cleanly while they are weaving all over the place to defend. The Mercedes definitely had the pace.

There was definitely some elbows out moments there with Max Verstappen and Alex Albon as he had to try and make it clear that he was coming back, that he is working his way back to his position in the front row.

He's dropped back now, having a bit of a fight on his hands. A race-long battle for him to get anywhere near the guys at the front now.

Anon: If Antonelli wins today, do they spray champagne on the podium or just hand him a Capri Sun because he’s underage in the U.S.?

Kimi Antonelli is crawling to the line followed by Max Verstappen's Red Bull and the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc. The grandstands are packed with fans, and the rain is nowhere to be seen for now.

It's a short run down to Turn One, so who leads? We're about to find out...

  18. Antonelli has 'momentum'published at 18:03 BST 3 May

    Damon Hill
1996 world champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra in Miami

I am increasingly impressed [by Kimi Antonelli]. I think that he has had a bit of a lucky break at times this year. He has now got momentum, he's got the bit between his teeth. He's got three pole positions on the trot and not only that, the style in which he's come to Miami, after the break. He looks confident. He's always been at the sharp end the whole weekend. The question is, can he get the thing off the line?

Kev: I genuinely have no idea what to expect today but craziness. So many unknowns all coming together.

The rain hasn't arrived at the Miami circuit yet, so for now, it's the C4 medium tyre that has been selected up and down the grid for this 57-lap grand prix.

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar will be starting his day from the pit lane after being excluded from qualifying, while title leader Kimi Antonelli is aiming for a third consecutive victory from pole position.

But the Italian has four-time world champion Max Verstappen for company on the front row, and his starts haven't been the best this season.

If heavy showers do hit the track, then all bets are off.
