    Rory Mahady has represented Scotland up to under-21s level

    Scunthorpe United have extended the loan spell of Leeds United goalkeeper Rory Mahady until the end of the season.

    The 19-year-old Scot initially joined the Iron in October and has made 14 appearances for the National League side.

    Andy Butler's team are sixth in the table, 10 points clear of eighth-placed Southend as they bid to secure a play-off spot.

    "I feel like I'm coming on every week and I'm in a good rhythm," Mahady told BBC Radio Humberside.

    Forest Green Rovers have signed right-back Ashqar Ahmed on loan from League One side Reading for the remainder of the season.

    The 18-year-old Royals academy graduate has broken into their first-team over the past 18 months, making 24 appearances including nine in the league this campaign.

    Boston United have signed Chesterfield defender Jamie Grimes on loan for the remainder of the season.

    The 35-year-old is into the final months of his contract with Chesterfield, having had a year-long option triggered last summer.

    Grimes captained the Derbyshire club to League Two promotion as National League title winners in 2024 and featured 42 times for them on their return to the EFL last term.

    The centre-half, who counts Swansea, Kidderminster and Macclesfield among his former clubs, has made just eight appearances across all competitions this season.

    Robbie Savage says links to the vacant Blackburn job are "pure speculation" and that he "can't wait to see through" his project at National League side Forest Green.

    The 51-year-old former Wales international midfielder played 100 games for Blackburn from 2005 to 2008 before a move to Derby and was among the bookmakers' favourites to replace Valerien Ismael as boss at Ewood Park.

    The Frenchman departed after less than 12 months at the helm on Monday with Blackburn in the Championship relegation zone, although a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday under interim boss Damien Johnson lifted them out of the bottom three on Tuesday night.

    Savage took over at The New Lawn last July, having led Macclesfield to promotion to National League North the previous season in his first season as a head coach.

    After being relegated from League Two in 2024 and losing the 2024-25 National League play-off semi-final on penalties after a third-placed finish, Forest Green are currently fourth in the National League, nine points off the top, but having played more games than the sides above them.

    Savage told the club's media team, external on Thursday morning: "It's purely speculation. I loved my time (at Blackburn), brilliant football club.

    "I have loved my time here. I have got a great relationship with (the board), we are on a journey and a project and it's something that I can't wait to see through.

    "It'll be someone else's name tomorrow. There's nothing at all for the fans to worry about."

    Forest Green Rovers have signed defensive midfielder Tate Campbell from Buxton for an undisclosed fee.

    The 23-year-old began his career with Birmingham City and made four appearances for the Blues, and has also had a loan spell at Bromley and Hereford before joining the National League North side last summer.

    Forest Green have not disclosed the length of Campbell's contract.

    Gateshead have signed Crawley Town defender Ben Radcliffe on loan until the end of the season.

    The 22-year-old previously had a loan spell with the Heed in 2024-25 and scored twice in 19 league appearances.

    He returns with the club nine points adrift of safety at the bottom of the National League table and on a run of 14 successive defeats in all competitions.

  7. Tamworth sign Cardiff striker Reindorf on loanpublished at 18:33 GMT 3 February

    Tamworth have signed striker Michael Reindorf from League One leaders Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season.

    The 20-year-old has been on loan with League Two Newport County for the first half of the current campaign and scored once in 22 appearances in all competitions.

    He played twice for the Bluebirds' first team in the Championship last term before having a loan stint with Bristol Rovers for the second half of the campaign in League One, where he featured in four matches.

    Reindorf joins The Lambs with the club 13th in the National League.

    "He's a player who wants to affect games, create chances, and score goals – that's exactly the kind of threat you want up top."

  8. Aldershot sign Wycombe winger Peartpublished at 17:16 GMT 3 February

    Aldershot Town have signed Wycombe Wanderers winger Brody Peart on an 18-month deal.

    Peart was previously in Brighton & Hove Albion's academy before his move to the Chairboys where he also experienced loan spells at Basingstoke and Tonbridge.

  9. Altrincham sign former Man City midfielder Breckinpublished at 14:28 GMT 3 February

    Altrincham have signed former Manchester City midfielder Kian Breckin on an 18-month deal.

    The 22-year-old never made a senior appearance for the Premier League side but did feature for the under-21s in the EFL Trophy.

    He also had loan spells with Wycombe and Crewe during his time at City.

    Breckin, the son of former Chesterfield and Nottingham Forest defender Ian, could make his Alty debut against Morecambe on Tuesday.
