  1. 'It was a beauty' - Heckingbottom on keeper mistakepublished at 17:41 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Millwall 1-1 Preston

    Preston North End

Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom on Daniel Iversen's mistake and subsequent response:

"It was a beauty, wasn't it? I've seen a few of them before from goalkeepers – it's never nice when it happens to your team.

"I'm really pleased he made a good save in the second half because other than that he was pretty quiet.

"He came for a good cross at the end but again he was protected really well by the team in front of him.

"He's a great character. He's played a lot of games and he knows how valuable he is to us. It's just frustrating when it does cost you points in a game.

"There were good moments but second half I loved the mentality we showed and how combative we were. I really enjoyed the second half."

  2. 'We probably edged it but we'll take the point'published at 17:38 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: MIllwall 1-1 Preston

    Millwall

Millwall boss Alex Neil told BBC London:

“I thought we were good in the first half and I was quite happy. The mistake is disappointing and it gives Preston a leg up. From there they are a hard team to break down.

“Defensively we didn’t want any silly mistakes and we gave ourselves a mountain to climb, but in the main, I thought we were by far the better side in the first half.

“We had a few opportunities, got in good spaces and areas and we were hoping something would drop for us - and then they made a mistake.

“We started the second half well but the game flipped in their favour when their subs came on. They had more energy and impetus and we had to defend well and Max made a good save.

“We certainly didn’t deserve to lose and over the 90 minutes we probably edged it but when it finishes like it did in the last 10-15 minutes we’ll take the point.

“We had good moments but we missed the clinical edge, that moment of quality. We obviously want to get more of that.”

  3. 'I'll take it as a learning process'published at 17:35 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Blackburn 1-2 Derby

    Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers were beaten 2-1 by Derby County

Blackburn Rovers head coach Valerien Ismael told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"It was very frustrating, especially the first half. That's not what I expected from us. We end up 2-0 down without really knowing why, Derby didn't really (do) a lot.

"We lost the game in the first half. Why did we start like that and wait until we conceded the goals?

"I will take it as a learning process with this young team. Today was a game we needed to be good on the ball - we have to be on it."

Liam Manning walked down the tunnel on his own after trying to clap his own fans.

He was roundly booed by those Norwich City fans that remained.

The chants of (sporting director Ben) 'Knapper Out' followed.

It's going to be interesting watching both Sheffield teams play in League One next season.

It's the Steel City derby after the international break and the teams could be bottom and second bottom come kick off.

  6. 'Stoke shouldn't fear anyone'published at 17:28 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Stoke 0-1 Coventry

    Danny Pugh
Former Stoke City defender on BBC Radio Stoke

After seeing the game today I don't think there is anyone in this league that Stoke should fear, but it is just disappointing to go into the international break on the back of a defeat.

Defensively they did very well, they looked solid throughout but they'll just be disappointed to concede when they did.

  7. 'Coventry defended really well'published at 17:26 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Stoke 0-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

This was the first time this season that Coventry had to win a little bit scruffily. The won the duels they had to and limited Stoke to very few chances.

It just shows how well Coventry as a unit defended.

Story of Norwich’s season. Great first half and start to the second half, could have been a few ahead. Negative tactics, bringing an attacker off for a centre-back, and lack of concentration, same old. Toxic atmosphere, this can’t continue.

Manning out. How is this deemed acceptable for the fans of Norwich?

    Matt, Lowestoft

Surely Liam Manning has to go? Relegation isn't an option for a team like Norwich, and the football we are playing isn't getting us anywhere. We've given him enough time to prove that he is a good manager. Change is needed quickly for Norwich unless they want League One football.

Championship table with smiling Frank Lampard

The international break is much maligned but my goodness, we probably all need a breather after the past eight days of Championship action.

Coventry lost their unbeaten record in their last away game at Wrexham but rolled their sleeves up and found a way to win in their top-of-the-table clash at Stoke, leaving it late to snatch a 1-0 win to go five points clear at the top.

No Rob Edwards, no problem for Middlesbrough who leapfrogged the Potters into second courtesy of a 2-1 home win over Birmingham, while Hull City have gategrashed the play-off places with a lunchtime win over Portsmouth, while Millwall and Preston shared a 1-1 draw and Charlton lost at Wrexham.

Ipswich are up to seventh, with a game in hand, after 11 points from the past four games while Derby's lunchtime win at Blackburn took them into the top-10, two points behind the play-off spots.

Wins for Leicester, Wrexham and West Brom have them looking up from mid-table and not over their shoulder while at the foot of the table Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich both lost, while Sheffied United played out a statemate with QPR to leapfrog the Canaries, and Oxford and Portsmouth also go into the break off the back losing games they were winning.

  10. Grumbles but pride for a Blades side lacking cutting edgepublished at 17:16 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Sheff Utd 0-0 QPR

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Final Score

I was slightly surprised to see how many Sheffield United fans stayed on the terraces, and stood to clap their team off.

This draw does very little to help them after a desperate run of form to start the season, and the chuntering was growing louder and louder as the game neared its conclusion.

It speaks to the effort their side put in today - they certainly weren't lacking for endeavour, but were devoid of quality and cutting edge.

QPR had their moments, and certainly played their part, but fell off towards the end.

Both sides end three-game losing streaks, but they needed a win, really.

  11. 'This result might turn things around'published at 17:14 GMT 8 November 2025

    FT: Norwich 1-2 Leicester

    Darren Kenton
Former Leicester City defender on BBC Radio Leicester

This result might be the thing that turns the season around. It was a much needed three points and will hopefully be the springboard for the rest of the season.

    FT: Stoke 0-1 Coventry

    Rob Gurney

It was not the best of games but a critical three points for the Sky Blues.

This result feels like it could be a march to the Premier League.

It is a huge, huge three points.
