This feels like a dream from a Saints perspective. Never thought I'd be cheering Portsmouth as much as I have done tonight. Go Pompey.

If Portsmouth do beat Southampton then it is game on between us and Ipswich, because they will still have to come here. A lot of pressure for Ipswich now.

I have been worried about the play-off dates but I might not need to.

Goals from Cyle Larin and Ryan Manning have Southampton deservedly two up at the break.

Blackburn have not laid a glove on the Saints and, with that second just before half-time, it's looking like a mountain to climb now for Michael O'Neill's side.

  4. 'Good performance from Saints'published at 20:50 BST 14 April

Southampton are looking very comfortable against Blackburn. Rovers have looked a little more likely after going two down, but it has been a good performance from the Saints.

  5. 'We are staying up'published at 20:49 BST 14 April

    HT: Portsmouth 2-0 Ipswich

The home support absolutely loved those goals. Portsmouth have played well in the last 10 minutes and for me totally deserved the initial lead.

Fratton Park absolutely exploded into noise when that second goal went in.

Chants of "we are staying up" ring around Fratton Park, the Ipswich players look absolutely stunned as they trail by two as they go back down the tunnel.

A massive two minutes in the Championship season.

We were drifting to the break with the game locked at 0-0 but Portsmouth have taken a stranglehold with two goals in the space of 120 seconds.

Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton had already done well to tip over a Millenic Alli 25-yarder but was powerless as the half drew to a close.

First Conor Shaughnessy out-muscled George Hirst to nod home from a corner and while Ipswich were regrouping, Colby Bishop pounced on a loose ball to smack in a second.

Breathing space at the bottom for Pompey, hope for those chasing second-placed Ipswich.

The Championship just keeps on giving.

Pompey are stunning the promotion favourites at Fratton Park.

It took a fair few attempts to get it into the back of the net, they got a little lucky, but it has gone in.

Shea Charles makes his way into the box past the Blackburn full-back before playing the playing the ball into the box.

It comes off a Blackburn defender and falls to Ryan Manning whose first-time shot finds the back of the net.

Perfect time for Saints to get a second. Hammer blow for Rovers.

John Swift has two swipes blocked but the ball drops for Colby Bishop and he cannot miss from one yard.

    Pompey chiming.

Adrian Segecic sends in an inviting corner and there is Conor Shaughnessy getting to the ball first to head past Christian Walton.

A huge goal at both ends of the table.

  11. 'Not much in this game'published at 20:42 BST 14 April

    Portsmouth 0-0 Ipswich

    Brenner Woolley

There is not too much in this game, it has to be said.

A half-chance from the hosts just a moment ago after a bad mistake from Jack Clarke.

Space for Adrian Segecic as Terry Devlin dispossesses Jack Clarke and finds the Australian in the 18-yard area.

Segecic gets too excited and drags his shot horribly wide.

That might have been the best chance for either side so far.

All very surreal cheering on the two teams that came down with Leicester, hoping they win so they can help keep Leicester up, by beating the teams that could send Leicester down. As a Leicester fan, I find this all very oddly poetic and confusing. My head hurts.

    James, Leicester

We very much echo those last three words, James. A good observation, though...

The game is being played mostly in the Blackburn half as Rovers struggle to get out.

Southampton content at the moment as Shea Charles has a pop at goal which is saved by Balazs Toth.

Saints are well in control in this one so far.

When Blackburn do have the ball they are so deep that there is no progress for them up the pitch.

I don't think either side will be too disappointed with their start to this game.

The real quality seems to be with Ipswich and specifically Jack Clarke who glides around the pitch as he orchestrates their attacking play.

But Portsmouth have also had encouraging moments with the ball and seem to have joy in possession when they drive forward.

Millenic Alli's latest effort was quite some strike that was not far away at all.

A win for Southampton and defeat for Ipswich at Fratton Park would make the race for the second automatic promotion spot very, very interesting...

  19. Postpublished at 20:32 BST 14 April

    Portsmouth 0-0 Ipswich

Sharp intakes of breath from around Fratton Park from home fans.

Cedric Kipre plays a wonderful ball over the top for Marcelino Nunez in the Portsmouth area but the Chilean's control lets him down - home supporters breathe out.

Both sides are trying to be expansive in their play.

  20. 'Good chance for Portsmouth'published at 20:31 BST 14 April

    Portsmouth 0-0 Ipswich

    Guy Whittingham

A great long distance shot from Portsmouth.

You never know if it was going to sneak in under the bar, but it was enough to force a save from Walton.

A good chance from range from Alli.
