Nineteen-year-old defender Roman Dixon deserves some praise for his Everton debut.

He is coming out of it having won a fair few one-on-one duels versus Wilson Odobert and Son Heung-min.

It has been a real baptism of fire without any protection in front of him but he can hold his head high.

It is understood that he may go on loan still before deadline day but this might give manager Sean Dyche food for thought as he steps in as an enforced change with Ashley Young suspended.

After surviving a painful first-half tackle, Micky van de Ven has produced a special moment to show that he is fully fit.

He took charge of a stray Everton pass on the edge of his own box, dribbled 60 yards up the field and put a chance on a plate for Son Heung-min to finish and make it 4-0.

Chants of "Micky van de Ven" have been ringing around the stadium all match since his painful collision and he is again being acknowledged by Spurs fans, delighted with a big win in their first home game of the season.

But this is ominous for Sean Dyche, who is stood near motionless on the touchline, having seen his side well beaten, conceding seven goals in their first two matches of the season.
