  1. Use your second half of the season chips wiselypublished at 17:43 GMT 30 December 2025

Hold onto that wildcard if you can Sam! There will be significant blank and double gameweeks later in the season, with the wildcard the most valuable chip to optimise and navigate that period.

Take stock of what shape your team is in come Gameweek 22 and try to muddle through with free transfers if you can.

New chips after this game - Is it worth wildcarding to the template right away and building up subs to 5 ahead of the doubles?

I don’t fancy Arsenal’s clean sheet chances personally at home to Aston Villa in Gameweek 19, with their opponents on an 11 game winning streak.

I would definitely get a Manchester United defensive option or two this week, then back Manchester City and Newcastle United as other clean sheet potentials.

Hi Holly - chasing and on a FH - should I go with safe defenders with more chance clean sheets like Timber, Gabriel, VVD or out of position cheaper options like Dorgu or Lewis-Potter who have a high ceiling but less chance of a clean sheet?

He wouldn’t be my first pick on a Free Hit but he always has a high ceiling so go with your gut. My concern would be his minutes, especially as he is just coming back from injury, and Chelsea have a key trip to Manchester City at the weekend.

  8. 'Go for Foden'published at 17:32 GMT 30 December 2025

    Holly Shand

If you have a spare Manchester City spot, absolutely go for Foden. He is a streaky player and expect him back among City’s goals following two successive blanks.

I would also look to sell Kudus, with Elliot Anderson the best replacement at this price point.

Is it time to get rid of Kudus? I can’t find a suitable replacement player given my budget? Also, Foden or Rodgers in your opinion?

  10. You have to back Calvert-Lewinpublished at 17:28 GMT 30 December 2025

    Holly Shand
FPL expert and two-time top 10k finisher

Yes absolutely. Remember this game ended 3-3 at Elland Road in early December, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the scoresheet on that occasion.

With seven goals in six games you have to back his form, even when Liverpool have been on a stronger run themselves.

  12. Not the time for radical movespublished at 17:24 GMT 30 December 2025

    Holly Shand

Stay calm Tom, this is not the time for radical moves! I think Manchester City are a key team to be tripled up on, so if you’re moving for their assets long term then that’s justified. I’d also take a punt on Cunha or a Manchester United defender this week. Ekitike is another key player, but nobody is in that “must-own” category

Is there anyone you believe is worth bringing in desperately if you don't have them this GW. Already made FT just wondering if anyone we could be looking at to bring in potentially for a hit! Especially as 2/3 of my Arsenal players are flagged raising questions and worries...

  14. Midfield options if Rice is outpublished at 17:20 GMT 30 December 2025

    Holly Shand
FPL expert and two-time top 10k finisher

I’m still a big fan of Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimares, with favourable fixtures over the next four gameweeks and beyond. If you have a Manchester City spot, Rayan Cherki could be a good punt, with five goal involvements in his last four games.

Also consider Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of their home game against Leeds United.

  17. Play it safe and captain Haalandpublished at 17:14 GMT 30 December 2025

    Holly Shand

Haaland is always the obvious pick, especially with double digit hauls in two of his last three away games. Manchester City beat Sunderland 3-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this month and he has five goal involvements in his last four games.

Play safe and enjoy the points!

    Holly Shand
FPL expert and two-time top 10k finisher

I wouldn’t make that move for a hit, Chelsea have been consistent defensively this season and James continues to pop up with attacking returns too.

I do like Dorgu as a pick, and the Manchester United defence will be useful in the coming weeks, with the cost saving appealing too. I’ve got my eye on Heaven!
