Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, speaking to TNT Sports on how the dressing room is feeling: "Yeah, everyone is just buzzing in the dressing room. Two times in a row in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Everyone is happy. I think we deserve that. We've been playing well and we deserve that. Now, just enjoy tonight and we have a big one on Sunday as well.

"When we play in the Champions League it is always tough. There is not one single team that is not strong. We knew they would come to try to score. The way they play they are a really good. We did well and we didn't concede. We didn't score as well but we take the draw and we are through."

On playing Atletico Madrid in the semi-final: We played them in the group stage but this will be a completely different game. We have to earn the right, we have to do things right in the game as well. Let's keep it up and try to win both games."

On dealing with the pressure: "When you play for Arsenal you have to know how to deal with the pressure. We really like the pressure as well. We play for Arsenal, we are used to it. It's a semi-final and fighting for the Premier League. Let's enjoy tonight and see on the weekend."

Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, speaking to TNT Sports: "Good match, back and forth. We knew they would come and try to come back. At first it was a bit like goal, goal, goal but eventually when it calmed down we played a bit better in the second half and we took our chances.

"We showed good resilience to keep coming back. In the end it was a result we're happy with.

"The red card was late. We had built momentum before that, the game was going our way. Maybe it helped a bit but the game was still going how it was going.

"I tried it five or six times before, I was getting closer each time and it was nice to score."

Real Madrid are going to finish without a trophy again this season.

History has always suggested that they will change the manager when that happens.

You feel for Arbeloa - his game plan was excellent, but a couple of moments cost Real Madrid.

  6. 'Real have been Bayern's nemesis'published at 22:25 BST 15 April

FT: Bayern Munich 4-3 Real Madrid (6-4 agg)

    Raphael Honigstein
German football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is always about Real Madrid. Bayern see themselves as rivals to Madrid. I don't think Madrid feels the same with 15 Champions League titles and Bayern have six in comparison.

Bayern since the 1980s have really seen Madrid as the game they want to win more than any other game.

Domestically, Bayern are in a position where nobody can really challenge to this extent, but Real, through the years, have been their nemesis and tonight was kind of them getting so many ghosts off their backs and exercising those demons.

That added an extra quality too it which made it very special.

P Malone66: It’s a tough day for Arsenal critics. Arteta has taken the only remaining English team into the last four of the Champions League. Never in Arsenal’s history have we seen back-to-back semi-finals. Was it pretty? Who cares!? Winning is all that matters here. Champions always get through even when they don’t play well.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice, speaking to TNT Sports on how he's feeling: "Delighted. So, so happy. It was a really tough test over two games but to go back-to-back semi-finals is an amazing achievement for this group and we now want to go one step further and make the final. We've played Atletico Madrid already this season and we know what to expect, so bring on these last couple of weeks."

On how frustrating tonight was: "Frustrating? No, we just got to a semi-final, positivity all the way. Who cares what people think? All that matters is what this group think, what the manager thinks and we're in another semi-final. I'm delighted."

"We'll keep going. Keep playing well. Keep getting over the line and bring it on. Bring on everything."

On the noise surrounding the team in the last few weeks: "Like being at any other top club, there's noise with everything. This is Arsenal football club, there's noise with every game. If you don't play well, if you don't play good, take it with a pinch of salt and keep moving. Bring on the last few weeks. It's a rollercoaster. Nobody's going to hand you anything in this game. Let's keep going and what will be will be. Let's keep going strong."

On whether they need to win against Manchester City on Sunday: "Of course, you have to win every game. We want to win every game in the Premier League. Our record this year has been amazing in all competitions. It's why we play the game. It's a game of football at the end of the day. [It's about] how much you want i, so I know I'll be ready, I know the boys will be ready, so let's go."

We know what is going to happen, we know what the narrative is going to be. A lot of people will rip Arsenal to shreds with the way they attacked or, should I say, didn't attack.

Towards the end of the game, it is about seeing it through - the objective tonight was going through and finding a way.

It wasn't perfect by any means, but defensively they do a lot right. It has been a struggle for a while and things do need to change...
