    WBA 0-0 Norwich

Billed as a bit of a six-pointer this one at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies have one change from the side who lost agonisingly 3-2 to Middlesbrough as Josh Maja comes in for Aune Heggebo.

But three changes from the Norwich side who beat Wrexham as Harry Darling returns, with Tony Springett and Oscar Schwartau also included.

Striker Josh Sargent is again not involved with his transfer saga ongoing.

    Coventry 0-0 Millwall

A first sight of goal for league leaders Coventry as Josh Eccles swings in a teasing ball from the left but Millwall are able to force it behind for a corner.

The Lions then deal with the resulting set-piece and launch a quick breakaway and it opens up but the attempted cross by Mihailo Ivanovic is overhit.

    Preston 0-0 Hull City

Jordan Thompson sends in a good free kick which Ben Whiteman flicks to the far post but no Preston man can get on the end of it.

The Deepdale pitch is showing plenty of wear and tear with some notable bare patches.

  12. Ramsay street towards safety for Baggies?published at 19:42 GMT 20 January

West Brom v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

West Brom head coach Eric Ramsay points on the touchline during this first game at head coach against MiddlesbroughImage source, Getty Images

This has very often been a meeting of two sides vying for Championship promotion but the situation this year is markedly different with both teams enduring poor seasons.

Eric Ramsay's first game in charge of West Brom on Friday almost ended with a fine comeback from 2-0 down to take a point off Middlesbrough but they were denied by a 90th-minute winner.

Ramsay is expected to bring a defined style to Albion's play and a home game against Norwich may be a good place to continue that process.

The Canaries are perhaps the shock of the season so far - for the wrong reasons. They sit a point inside the bottom three but have rallied, winning three of their past five, including Saturday's 3-1 win at Wrexham.

A point tonight will be enough to climb out of the drop zone, with Portsmouth playing on Wednesday night.

    Swansea v Blackburn (19:45 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard

Blackburn are looking nervously over their shoulders after a five-match winless run has left them 20th in the Championship, just one point above the relegation zone.

Tonight they visit Swansea, who are by no means clear of trouble themselves despite an upturn in form since head coach Vitor Matos took charge.

The Swans are 16th in the table, six points clear of the bottom three.

Victory tonight would give them a bit more breathing space, and a fifth win from their past six league games at the Swansea.com Stadium.

  14. Swans rising with Rovers rockingpublished at 19:39 GMT 20 January

    Swansea v Blackburn (19:45 GMT)

When these two met in September, Swansea were 13th and Blackburn were 20th.

Fast forward four months and, although the Swans are three places lower, they are in better condition since boss Vitor Matos replaced Alan Sheehan in November.

Three wins from their past six games means they go into their 50th league meeting with Blackburn six points clear of the relegation zone.

Rovers are still 20th with only one point keeping them out of the bottom three - trouble is brewing for Valerien Ismael.

The addition of striker Mathias Jorgensen from Bodo/Glimt may be key for their survival hopes with Ismael's side having failed to score in five of their past six since leading scorer Andri Gudjohnsen sustained a hamstring injury.

Defeat in south Wales tonight could see Blackburn in the bottom three and continue Swansea's upward trend.

  15. Blues seek bounce at beleaguered Wednesdaypublished at 19:37 GMT 20 January

Sheff Wed v Birmingham (19:45 GMT)

What more to say about poor old Sheffield Wednesday?

Someone needs to find some words because there are still 20 matches remaining of this nightmare season.

2026 has begun with four straight losses, including the FA Cup defeat by Brentford, and they were edged out 1-0 by Portsmouth at the weekend.

Defenders Sean Fusire and Yisa Alao are the latest to join a list of 14 first-team players sidelined by injury.

Birmingham, eight points outside the top six, are in need of a win to revive any play-off hopes. The Blues have only won one of their past nine league games.

They scored a second-half equaliser to take a point from Swansea on Saturday and could call on two new signings tonight - winger Ibrahim Osman and midfielder Jhon Solis.

  16. Bloomfield bounce for Oxford?published at 19:35 GMT 20 January

    Oxford v QPR (19:45 GMT)

There was a positive bounce of sorts for Oxford United on Saturday as they held Bristol City to a 0-0 draw in Matt Bloomfield's first match as head coach.

It remains a long road ahead if the U's are going to survive in the Championship. They begin the night five points from safety with only one win in eight but have been very competitive in nearly every game this season, with almost all their defeats coming by a single goal.

QPR are well versed in slugging it out at the lower end of the table but are very much in touch with the play-offs this campaign, four points off the top six.

They were well worthy of a point at fellow play-off chasers Stoke in Saturday's 0-0 draw.

    Charlton v Derby (19:45 GMT)

Charlton players celebrate the goal in the 1-0 win over Sheffield UnitedImage source, Getty Images

After a strong first three months of the season, Charlton were looking in good shape in a play-off spot.

But a poor run of form which has seen them pick up just nine points from their past 12 games means the mission has become very much one of survival.

The Addicks secured a crucial victory against nine-man Sheffield United last time out - just their second win since 4 November - to leave them five points clear of Norwich in the final relegation spot with a game in hand.

Derby are five points off the top six and arrive in south London looking to keep themselves in the play-off conversation.

The Rams have enjoyed two excellent wins against promotion-chasing Middlesbrough and Preston since the turn of the year, with a home defeat by Wrexham sandwiched in between.

A win tonight would make it consecutive league victories for John Eustace's side for the first time in two-and-a-half months.

  19. Leicester seek spark at Wrexhampublished at 19:30 GMT 20 January

    Wrexham v Leicester (20:00 GMT)

Leicester City top-scorer Jordan James with his hands on his headImage source, Shutterstock

A first league trip to Wrexham for Leicester in more than 44 years and you get the feeling the Foxes need something to kickstart their season.

Dogged by inconsistency it has been one step forward and two back for much of this season under Marti Cifuentes.

"It was an opportunity, as well, to have a good moment after our last two results, to reconnect with our fans, so it's a tough one," said Cifuentes after they surrendered the lead to lose at top-dogs Coventry on Saturday.

Despite the form of top-scorer Jordan James and with the likes of Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu in their ranks, too often Leicester flatter to deceive and they will need to be on form in north Wales against a Wrexham side knocking on the door of the play-offs.

A home defeat by Norwich at the weekend put a spanner in the Red Dragons' progress but with a large squad and the power to add more in the transfer window, do not rule out a fourth successive promotion.

  20. Lilywhites to feel Tigers' bite?published at 19:28 GMT 20 January

Preston v Hull City (19:45 GMT)

Hull City's OIiver McBurnieImage source, Shutterstock

Neither of these two were in the thoughts of most pundits as promotion challengers at the start of the season.

But, nearly two thirds through the campaign here we are and tonight it is sixth against fifth.

Preston's star has dimmed a little with only two wins from their past six and Saturday's home defeat by Derby allowing their opponents tonight to jump above them in the table.

No-one in the Championship has taken more than the Tigers' 13 points from their past six outings and recent away wins at Middlesbrough and Southampton feel like a statement they are not about to fade either.

The addition of Japan international winger Yu Hirakawa from Bristol City this week shows they are intending to stick around while Preston are yet to make a move in the transfer window - it might just be a question of who has the deepest pockets to match their ambition.
