I mentioned Phil Foden's collapse in goal scoring form a few minutes ago.

Credit where it is due. If the Manchester City man had not been aware of the threat of a West Ham counter-attack just then - and chased Mohammed Kudus all the way back to his own penalty area, the visitors would have been level.

Foden didn't make a tackle but his presence was enough to put Kudus off and he screwed his shot wide.

West Ham with another opportunity but an off-balance Mohammed Kudus blazes wide. The Hammers have had seven efforts on goal so far.

None have been on target.

Matty Cash misjudges a header and the ball falls to Bilal El Khannouss, who is able to break towards goal but his shot from the edge of the box goes flying well over.

Palace's best chance of the match. Daniel Munoz, on the right side of the penalty area, pulls it back and Jean-Philippe Mateta strikes first time, it whistles just past the post, with a deflection taking it just wide.

Manuel Akanji might be a relieved man.

The Manchester City defender delayed too long on the ball and was robbed on halfway by Crysencio Summerville.

The West Ham man would have been clean through but referee Michael Salisbury blew for a very debatable foul.

Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui was furious and didn't know whether to complain to the fourth official or the assistant referee closest to him.

Pep Guardiola look down and gave his head a rub. That reaction suggested to me he didn't think there was much in it either.

Decent chance for the hosts to go two goals ahead but Bernardo Silva doesn't really get hold of a right-footed shot from 12 yards or so and Hammers keeper Alphonse Areola saves with an outstretched leg.

We talked about Palace getting back into the game, but that period has ended.

Chelsea have exerted their dominance again and I am really impressed with how they've played.

Tyler Dibling tries to get the ball on his left foot to shoot at goal for Southampton but he is blocked out by three Brentford defenders before he can fire from the edge of the area.

A blow for Armando Broja. He appears to have done something to his back and has to go off. Dominic Calvert-Lewin replaces him.

Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega is scrambling as West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta unloads a shot from 18 yards out. That's always going wide mind.

Almost a great moment for Chelsea's Josh Acheampong. The 18-year-old defender is free at the back post and meets an inswinging corner from the right. He heads the ball down but it bounces wide when he could have got himself a goal.

Manchester City look so nervous on the ball in their own half. Every time West Ham attack they look like they could score.

And now Mateo Kovacic picks up a yellow card for a cynical foul on Crysencio Summerville as the West Ham winger almost gets clear in the centre of the pitch.

Chelsea look smooth in possession. They are switched on.

Nice move down the left by Leicester ends with Boubakary Soumare's cross being headed behind by Tyrone Mings. The corner comes to nothing.

West Ham have had the better chances so far - as the expected goals graphics show.

Cole Palmer has one goal and he nearly got another. Pedro Neto sprints free down the right flank and his pull-back is only inches away from Palmer's outstretched foot. Any contact and that would surely have been 2-0.
