I am not totally sure what Alphonse Areola was doing then.
The cross from Savinho was clearly heading for the far post but Areola, in a central position, started to come for it when he had zero chance of getting anywhere near.
By the time Erling Haaland got his head to it, the France international was way out of position and offered the most lethal striker of the past two-and-a-half years an empty net to find.
That was a gift from a West Ham perspective.

The ball is played into Erling Haaland initially and he then plays it out wide and peels into the box.
He waits for the perfect ball to come to the far post and bang, 2-0.

This has been Chelsea's Achilles' heel. Dominating games, lots of chances and only one goal to show for it then concede a silly equaliser. It's a bad habit that's worryingly started to reappear the last few games.

Savinho easily skips past Vladimir Coufal down the Manchester City left and delivers a hanging ball to the back stick that is nodded into an empty net by Erling Haaland.
That's the Norway forward's first goal at home in the Premier League since 26 October.
No idea what Alphonse Areola was doing there. The Hammers keeper left himself completely stranded.

How many times have we seen West Ham 'start the game well but just can't score', and then just completely crumble late on? Hoping that we don’t see another 4 or 5-0 defeat today

Crystal Palace just had a spell of sustained pressure, including two corners, and a good effort by Jean-Phillippe Mateta.
It took 33 minutes but the Eagles finally had an effort that had Robert Sanchez scrambling.
It was a spell where Chelsea also gave the ball away several times when trying to counter attack.
Palace are also targeting Chelsea's left-side as Marc Cucurella is the one defender charged with getting forward - leaving space in behind.
Still, Chelsea showed through Nicolas Jackson - who fashioned himself a chance - that they remain dangerous.

Bournemouth make a mistake in defence and Iliman Ndiaye runs along the edge of the box trying to find a shooting chance. There isn't one forthcoming and instead the ball squirms through to Jesper Lindstrom, but he fires high over the bar.

Having been unbeaten in five consecutive home league games against Arsenal between 1982 and 2020 (W4 D1), Brighton have now lost three of their last four against the Gunners (D1).
Arsenal have won three of their last five Premier League games against Brighton (D1 L1), as many as they had in their first 10 against the Seagulls in the competition (D3 L4).
Brighton haven’t lost their first league game in any of the last eight calendar years (W3 D5), since a 1-0 home loss to Wolves on New Year’s Day 2016 in the Championship.
