  4. 'We are leaving here very unhappy'published at 23:04 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Newcastle United

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes speaking to Sky Sports: "It's tough to say about the game. We are leaving here today very unhappy. The ball was bouncing in the box and nobody was there to take the ball away including myself. The feeling right now is very negative but we have to turn things around. It is unacceptable for us to concede again at the end of the game."

On his goal: "It was a brilliant finish but I would change everything about my goal to get the three points. I cannot leave happy today but we have another game on Saturday so we have to take the positive and try to get the three points in that match.

"It's not the first time we concede at the end of the game, it is something we have to sort out. It is not healthy for us to concede so late. In my view we were better than them so we leave here very unhappy tonight.

On the next game: "We have to turn things into a positive. We have another opportunity on Saturday to put this anger on the pitch."

  5. 'Kiernan was brilliant'published at 23:02 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Everton

More from Everton forward Jack Grealish to BBC Match of the Day about his partnership with Dewsbury-Hall: "I said that to him then, I thought he was so good. He played in a more deeper role today. I was so tired towards the end of the game and he had the ball a few times and was driving with it and playing passes. That is what you need.

"I told the lads in the dressing room that when you come to places as difficult as this, where they are going to be on you, you need players to take a lot of touches and want the ball and not be afraid to stay on the ball. Kiernan was brilliant at that tonight."

  6. 'You never know what can happen'published at 23:01 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Everton

Everton forward Jack Grealish speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I can't speak highly enough of the fans. Since I've come here they've been so good with me and made me feel at home. The players and the staff have as well, and especially the manager, so I'm enjoying it and I hope that I can keep repaying them with goals and some assists as well.

"Today or last night maybe when we travelled down we were speaking and even in training yesterday I scored two or three goals in the little games and people were just saying to me, 'Just shoot tomorrow'. so as soon as I got the ball today, I think it was in the fifth minute or so, I just shot, from a stupid position. It was so far out and it just got blocked but I wanted to tell myself to keep trying because you never know what can happen. Luckily tonight it happened for me."

On Everton's away form: "This season we have done really well. We won away at Wolves, won at United last week, won tonight , so I feel like we are in a good moment.

"Obviously we got pumped by Newcastle at the weekend but we have won three of the last four and we are on a good run. We have another tough game on Saturday and hopefully we can go and take some points.

"It's the first time ever Everton have won here so it is good to be part of that and to score the goal that did it. Hopefully we can keep creating moments like that. We are in the top half of the table now for the first time in a while so hopefully we can keep pushing. You never know what's going to happen."

  7. 'The players deserve more'published at 23:00 GMT 2 December 2025

    Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva speaking to Match of the Day: "Of course, we take many positives from the game but the feeling is not the best, as you would expect.

"Before the game, we had the ambition and the conditions, I believe, to get a different result. Massive respect to City, we knew the bad record from ourselves since 2009 against them - we wanted to change this tonight. The way we started, again, made this more difficult for us. We were too soft, we didn't start on the front foot, like we should start these games.

"The first 20 minutes were difficult. We conceded the second goal too soft. The reaction of the team was always good, even after 1-0, we had a big chance through Emile [Smith Rowe] to score to equalise the game. It's a game where you score four goals and lose at home, the feeling is not good.

"I told the players at half-time 'I have a feeling you are going to score in the second half'. First minutes of the second half, we conceded straight away. The reaction was top, the belief that they showed there. We didn't take any points but we took many, many things from this game which will help us to win games in the future."

On what he was thinking when 5-1 down: "It was a very tough moment. I really felt during the first half that what we planned was what was needed. Off the ball, we were not aggressive enough. I really have to praise the players for their reaction. They deserve much more."

On Josh King's effort, cleared off the goal line in added time: "It was a great moment for us, the way the ball comes from one side to the other. It is what it is, it's football. Probably the players deserve a point but let's move forward for Crystal Palace."

On the home support: "The respect that the fans showed at the end of the game means more than one point. They did something that is not normal in football because the fans showed that respect. We have to move on and we'll need them again on Sunday."

  8. 'I don't think the defender looks at the ball'published at 22:58 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's hugely frustrating, we worked really hard to get ourselves in that position. We were knocking on the door, the goal finally came and then we didn't protect the lead well enough on two occasions. Ultimately, we haven't defended a corner well enough, not doing our jobs individually, not getting the first contact.

"I thought we were strong, the better team, created the majority of chances but weren't clinical enough. It took too long for us to score today.

On Bruno Guimaraes not starting: "Rotational reasons, we've got such a busy schedule ahead, we want him at his physical best. It was a chance to rotate midfield slightly without unbalancing it. The first half performance was strong.

On the penalty: "I don't think the defender looks at the ball, he just looks at Dan Burn, and I don't think that can ever be right."

  9. 'The game has gone on the routes that Everton wanted'published at 22:57 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It has been a really poor game from our side. We've been bad on the ball, our build up hasn't been good today, and once you are not good with the ball you will not look good without the ball.

"The game has gone on the routes that Everton wanted, not a lot of rhythm, quite slow, not any big chances for any of the teams. I was expecting to concede set pieces and it was dangerous. I'm definitely disappointed with the performance. The result is bad. We lacked energy.

"A lot of things were not happening. I think we should have been much ore aggressive on the ball and without the ball. They scored one goal but I think they controlled the game more than us. It could have finished 0-0 but it was not the game we wanted to play.

On the drop off in form: "A lot of reasons. The other day we lost a game that we had a lot in our favour and also we lose five very important players for us. In the middle we lacked energy, Christie, Cook, we missed players that give us that energ.

"I think we will recover some of the players but we still do not recover some players with the five yellow cards so we will have to think of other players to give us energy. [Today] has been a bad result but we have to stay together, analyse and we have to use this loss to try to do a reset and think properly about things we need to do better."

  10. 'It's never a penalty'published at 22:55 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It says a lot about the mentality of the team, it's been a tough week, coming here after four games in ten days against a good Newcastle team.

"We suffered the first 25 minutes. The way the team handled two setbacks showed a lot about the character of the team, which I love.

"It's never a penalty, we want the ref calls on the pitch, to support that, it can only be a clear and obvious mistake. It's never a penalty in my opinion, there are ten of those a game.

"I'm happy with our fans, there were 3,000 of them and we could hear them all game.

"Sometimes you need to suffer, after that we were very brave, calm on the ball going forward. There's a lot to love about the performance.

"I haven't seen many strikers score a better header than the first one [from Romero], the second one tells you everything that he scored a bicycle kick."

  11. 'As a number nine you are going to be judged by your goals'published at 22:54 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Everton

More from Everton boss David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports about Thierno Barry's lack of league goals: "He has scored before. It's not as if he hasn't done it. He's done it in the Spanish league last year so we're hoping that he can do it again.

"Look, he's actually improving greatly, but ultimately, as a number nine, you are going to be judged by your goals. You have to score goals and we have to keep pushing him to do so. We are giving him a run of games to see if he can do it and I hope he can, but his form has certainly improved. I think the supporters can see that as well. He is beginning to get used to the Premier League a bit more."

On Jack Grealish: "I think the biggest thing for Jack is that he is getting plenty of game time at the moment. He is doing really well for us, whether it be assists or goalscoring. He has had a few games where he could have been a little bit better but he's certainly giving us something.

"I actually think the supporters like him so much as well because of the way he goes about things and conducts himself, and takes time with the supporters.

"I want him to score more goals. I keep telling him, 'Your assists are good but I want more goals.' I would have taken an assist from him tonight. I just had a joke with him there saying I hope they don't class that as an own goal. But look, he is an important player for us and certainly helping us get better at Everton."

  12. 'Four goals but bad feeling losing the game'published at 22:52 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Fulham 4-5 Man City

    Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva speaking to Sky Sports: "Bad feeling, we lost the game and it's always a bad feeling. Some positives and things to highlight about ourselves. The main one is the character and personality of the team. When they scored two goals at start of second half it was tough. The speech at half time was to react and not concede another goal because even the first half showed us positives, they were not at the level. The way we conceded some goals tonight is something to work on but the reaction was incredible after 5-1, the fans the belief and the fans showed such respect at the end of the game speaks volumes of the players.

"Not aggressive enough in 10-15 minutes, we lost duels and against City with that quality we were soft and sloppy. That's something for us to work on. You have to be aggressive and on the front foot. The way they scored we were very passive in some moments but great reaction from the boys.

"Erling Haaland had a good chance before the first goal but Emile [Smith-Rowe] had a chance too and these things define the game. The way we played, the way we found Emile in the spaces was the plan. Alex [Iwobi] helped and Samuel [Chukwueze] massive impact. We scored four goals at home, of course it's a bad feeling losing the game but we scored four goals."

On anger at end of match: "I am 100% sure that if we were winning the game and delayed so much time our players would get yellow cards. None of the City players got yellow cards tonight, so many times they wasted time. It's normal, if we were winning we would probably do the same but I'm sure we would get cards."

On Samuel Chukwueze: "Unfortunately we lose him in a few weeks again, great performance against Tottenham and great impact from him. He is helping the team, taking his moments and lets hope he can continue to have impact."

  13. 'It's a painful one for us to take'published at 22:50 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports on Bruno Guimaraes' goal: "He did very well, it was an outstanding finish. He made a difference, his enthusiasm, passion and energy made a big difference."

On the penalty awarded to Newcastle: "I hadn't seen it, I'm only seeing it now. The big thing is the defender isn't looking at the ball at all, he's looking at Dan [Burn]. I think it's probably the right call."

On Anthony Gordon: "I was really pleased with his impact, he definitely changed the dynamic, energy, pace, directness. It was a good cameo for Anthony."

On Spurs' second goal: "We are disappointed with the first goal, it was a standard cross and we haven't defended it well enough.

"Second one, we didn't deal with the first contact then didn't stop the overhead kick. Somehow it went in. It's a painful one for us to take."

  14. 'When you don't control games things can happen'published at 22:48 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Bournemouth

Head Coach Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth after his sides 1-0 defeatImage source, Getty Images

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to Sky Sports: "We played the game that Everton wanted to play. A low rhythm game, not a lot of chances for any of the teams. We haven't been good enough.

"I think that it was going to be one goal for one team or the other, and they were closer than us. I think it is a deserved win [for Everton]. It looked like at the end that it could finish 0-0 but especially on the ball we have been very poor in the build up.

"We struggled in the build up and when you do that you don't press properly and you don't demand from Everton defensively. Then it is much more difficult to press them also because they are fresh, they have very good quality players and it is not easy to take the ball from them.

"We were not conceding too many chances but we have played their game and then it is a matter of one set play, they have countered and they score well with the deflection. They were closer than us to scoring in the game that really we haven't played well at all.

"I think we have defended really well. It think Alex [Jimenez] has done a really good job with him [Grealish] but this can't happen. They have quality players that can make the difference. Yes there is the deflection but we maybe have to look before.

"Today I don't think we have been brave enough on the ball and this makes you look worse defensively. We were defending well in terms of ok we were not playing the game we want but defending set pieces and things but when you don't control games things can happen."

  15. 'That is never a penalty'published at 22:46 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank speaking to Sky Sports: "The performance showed fantastic mentality and character. Every team needs that. It is fair to say it has been a tough week, fourth game in 10 days, third away game. St James' Park is always a difficult place to come. Last 60 minutes I am very happy with that performance overall. The ability to react to setbacks was great.

On the penalty decision: "At 2-1 down it was an absolute mistake from the VAR. The ref did good to do the ref call and they encourage the refereeing call on the pitch. For me that is never a penalty. Our fans were excellent, 3,000 fans traveling us here on a Tuesday. The way they supported Vic [Guglielmo Vicario], I liked that a lot."

On Cristian Romero: "Cuti is a top player, we all know that. His performance overall today was very good. He handles Nick Woltemade and his header was a striker's goal."

  16. 'We collapsed after 5-2'published at 22:44 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Fulham 4-5 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports: "What can you say? Only in this league can this kind of thing happen. We played well first half even though we conceded at the end. Second half we started well but after 5-2 we collapse a bit. All the goals were the same, not defending the edge of the box, defending with anxiety. They have a fantastic team, the players who started and came off the bench. We take it, important game. We take three points and move forward.

"They made a step up, nothing to lose. We are not trying to play. Football sometimes you can't control the situations.

"We won 5-4. The game was exceptional until 5-2. Sometimes it can happen because the opponents also play."

On keeping pressure on Arsenal: "We have to push the people up front but we have one many good things - pressing, chances. You can't control 90 minutes always in football and step by step we will improve."

On Erling Haaland: "Congratulations to him. So happy that he delivered 100 goals and that we could give him the victory."

  17. 'The players have bounced back well'published at 22:42 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager David Moyes and Tim Iroegbunam applaud fans after the matchImage source, Reuters

Everton boss David Moyes speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was an excellent win for us because it has not really been a happy hunting ground for Everton in recent years. Bournemouth have been doing really well this year so we might have just caught them at the right time, they had a couple of injuries and suspensions, so did we.

"I thought he game was pretty tight and maybe whoever got he first goal was going to win it. Generally I'm really pleased we managed to get the three points.

"Garner did a great job Semenyo who has been in top form at the minute and also Dewsbury-Hall who played ever so well in midfield - I thought tonight he might just have been the difference for us. He did a lot, had to play a bit deeper tonight because we are missing some midfield players, so I'm so pleased with him.

"We've won three of the last four. We had a disappointing defeat at the weekend but the players have bounced back well and kept a few clean sheets as well which is always important.

"The fans love Jack, they certainly do. He is certainly a top player and has continued to show it. I want him to get more goals, he has got a goal tonight, I don't know if it will go down as an own goal, I hope not. I want him to score more, make more assists, but he has made a big difference and he is loved by everybody."

  18. Postpublished at 22:40 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Newcastle 2-2 Tottenham

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports: "It wasn't us at our best today but we battled into a position we wanted, but we couldn't defend that corner at the end. It's a disappointing feeling having worked so hard.

"I thought we were in the ascendancy, we had some good chances, the goal was slow in coming. We battled in the first half, their keeper mad a couple of really good saves.

"We weren't at our very best, particular in the attacking half. We did enough but needed to defend the corner better."

  19. 'It only happens in this league'published at 22:39 GMT 2 December 2025

    FT: Fulham 4-5 Manchester City

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "I'm so old, and the players don't respect me! They don't have to treat their manager in that way.

"It only happens in this league. We played a fantastic game... Listen, there were some really positive things in what we have done. To come here, to score five goals, and the way we played in that first half.

"In the end, it was a question of character, resilience and defence. They did what they had to do."

On Fulham's threat of a comeback: "Of course, I was concerned. But this will help us in future games. Every game is a new team for some players. You have to make a process to start to correct."

On Erling Haaland: "It's incredible, impressive. He was outstanding, today he was unbelievable. He made a fantastic goal. Hopefully, he's starving hungry to continue with this club to make more and more goals."

  20. 'Attacking-minded Bournemouth wasn't there'published at 22:38 GMT 2 December 2025

Former England goalkeeper on Sky Sports

It's the first time that you felt Bournemouth really doubted themselves going forwards. They have had issues at the back but it wasn't that today. They had a team asking questions, can you find a way around us? Can you create something different? But the attacking-minded Bournemouth wasn't there.
