Morgan Whitaker was the match-winner for Middlesbrough as they came from one down to beat Derby 2-1 in Kim Hellberg's first match as head coach.

Whittaker scored with a teasing ball from out wide that was missed by everyone and found its way into the net, but was it a shot or a cross?

He told BBC Radio Tees: "It's something we've been working on, especially with the weather.

"Getting a short corner and mixing it up against a big team who are good at set-plays and aiming for the back post and hoping it goes in, which it did."

Ellis Simms went over to the Coventry fans in the corner and cheered them after his brace, which ensured Coventry are dominant at the top of the Championship.

Even when Charlton took a 13th-minute lead, the belief that Coventry would win this game was still sky high among the home fans.

The turnaround in emotion in this stadium from even last season is unbelievable.

As local band The Specials once sang, it truly is the dawning of a new era.

You run out of superlatives for them. Everything they're doing is a testament to them as people, not just players.

They're going off everything that Frank (Lampard) is telling them to do, he comes across so calm and collected, he's got an aura about him and he takes it into his management.

For not one second did I think that Coventry will lose the game. There's no blips in the team, they have such a good squad.

Millwall steal into third place with their late victory over Southampton and Stoke's lunchtime defeat.

Bristol City break back into the top six with the victory at Portsmouth consigning Pompey to the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Nowich close the gap to four points with their first home win of the campaign.

Ellis Simms has taken a fair amount of stick from the fans in the last couple seasons because we haven't seen the best of him. Really pleased for him to turn his form around, he can be almost unplayable when he's at it!

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-1 Derby

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

There were times in the first half where it wasn't going for us but we stuck at it.

We found ourselves level through a great goal by Targett. You don't realise how good of a result that is, we had a makeshift side out today that went out and did a job.

At times it might have been sticky and might not have been right, but they found a way to go and win this game.

Three points and what a weekend we're going to have.

Ellis Simms at the double, and he now has five goals in three games, helps Coventry turn this one around after they'd fallen behind to Harvey Knibbs' early strike for Charlton.

The visitors created a number of chances before Josh Eccles levelled for Frank Lampard's side.

The Sky Blues have now scored 50 league goals and that's a sixth successive home run as they remain 10 points clear at the top.

Can they be stopped? Doubt it!
