Ollie Watkins is dropped from Aston Villa's Premier League starting XI as Unai Emery keeps faith with Donyell Malen.

Former Borussia Dortmund forward Malen scored twice in the 2-1 Europa League win over Young Boys on Thursday, while Watkins has netted just once this season.

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

There are too many players at Liverpool who are not playing to the standard of what we saw last year.

It is not an easy fix. There are too many experienced players and now you have a young player getting so frustrated with the basics not being done right.

Then they find themselves in this rut.

  3. Team news - Forest without Murillopublished at 12:59 GMT 30 November 2025

Nottingham Forest v Brighton (14:05 GMT)

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche makes one change from the side that defeated Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield last week.

Murillo, who was withdrawn late on in the win against Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday, misses the matchday squad as Morato replaces him. But Morgan Gibbs-White is back in the starting line-up after sitting out the visit of the Swedish side.

Nottingham Forest XI: Sels, Williams, Morato, Sangare, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Ndoye, Dominguez, Jesus, Milenkovic, Savona.

Subs: Victor, Hudson-Odoi, Kalimuendo, Hutchinson, Yates, Cunha, McAtee, Boly, Abbott.

  6. What are the rules on double-touch penalties?published at 12:55 GMT 30 November 2025

Jean-Philippe Mateta was allowed to retake his penalty due to a new rule implemented for this season.

Accidental 'double-touch' penalties are now allowed to be taken again - but only if the kick was successful.

Where such kicks are unsuccessful, an indirect free-kick will be given to the defending team if they occur in a match, or be recorded as a miss if it happens during a penalty shootout.

The International Football Association Board (Ifab), which sets the sport's laws, updated the ruling on 1 July.

The clarification was made following the controversy caused by Julian Alvarez's penalty being disallowed for accidentally kicking the ball twice in a Champions League game for Atletico Madrid against Real Madrid in March.

So, you can retake the penalty after a double touch, but only if it was scored! If he missed then you can't retake, who makes these silly rules?

A slip by Matthijs de Ligt and a great chance for Crystal Palace to double their lead.

Eddie Nketiah cannot make it count as he delays and delays which allows Luke Shaw to make the challenge.

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

We have to remember Joshua Zirkzee is playing out of position.

I wouldn't say he is an out-and-out number nine because he doesn't demand the box and he isn't the most clinical of finishers. I would say he is more of a number 10 because he likes to drop in and get on the ball, rather than stretch the pitch.

He is filling a role at the moment because Matheus Cunha is out and Benjamin Sesko is missing. It has been a difficult period for him, but he does need to prove himself in this Manchester United team.

What a ball from Wharton [to Mateta]. He's one of the best midfielders to play that first ball. A tremendous pass.

Yoro can't make that challenge there, it's just naive, no need at all to make that challenge.

A little bit of pressure on Mateta to go again but the end product is the exact same. Really confident.

    Simon Stone

I spoke about Manchester United's forwards a couple of minutes ago.

Now it is their defence. Leny Yoro sucked into a reckless tackle on Jean-Philippe Mateta which was only going to have one outcome.

This has been really poor from the visitors. They have had more time to prepare and should be motivated following Monday's debacle.
