I think Arne Slot will be reasonably happy with how they have reacted after going a goal down, but they still don't have any attacking threat.

They are trying, but it is clunky from them and there is no real fluidity.

Dominik Szoboszlai mops up the danger well but PSG just keep coming at Liverpool and the Reds are back to being pretty much camped in their own half.

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Joao Cancelo wrestles Giuliano Simeone to the ground, but escapes a booking.

There has been quite a few fouls like that so far but the referee is content to keep his cards in his pocket for now.

Diego Simeone is literally on the pitch! He's so passionate, you'd think he was Atleti's 12th man. The fourth official is keeping an eye and reminding him to stay in his area.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a wonderful player. When he comes inside, he comes inside with purpose. His first thought is to get the shot off.

If Liverpool concede another, this tie is done already because this Liverpool side give up.

Lamine Yamal looks to wriggle his way past two Atletico Madrid defenders and goes to ground extremely easily at the edge of the penalty area.

The referee tells him to get to his feet.

It is amazing watching Liverpool play so slow and methodical using set-plays as a plot routine. Luis Enrique is fuming about the time Liverpool take.

It all seems a bit chaotic as Ryan Gravenberch waves his arms in the air as if to say 'what?!' as he stands over the corner and Virgil van Dijk barks orders at him from the penalty box.

The set piece actually isn't too bad in the end but a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia halts play.

Shame for Barca. It was a great pass from Lamine Yamal who was just a yard off-side. Barca are building something here.

Marcus Rashford has the ball in the net, but the flag goes up for offside.

The Englishman converted Lamine Yamal's low cross unmarked at the back post, but the Spanish winger made his run in behind the Atletico defence a fraction early and was offside.

Very little opportunities for Hugo Ekitike in the game so far. Dominik Szoboszlai is trying his best, but Liverpool have not managed to get any fluidity into their game yet.

Marcus Rashford is causing Atletico right-back Nahuel Molina all kinds of problems.

This time the Englishman runs onto a long ball before beating the defender to the byline. He looks to prod the ball across the face of goal to a team-mate, but it's cut out.

Rashford has started the game well, but so far is lacking the final touch.

  17. 'Disastrous start for Liverpool'published at 20:17 BST 8 April

    Ally McCoist

The goalkeeper's had absolutely no chance.

My initial thinking was that he is only a yard off the line, but it just dips violently over him. A disastrous start for Liverpool.

  18. 'Maybe Liverpool will open up a bit now'published at 20:17 BST 8 April

    Paris St-Germain 1-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: Uefa Champions League

So far, Liverpool's back five has been camped out on the edge of their own area, putting no pressure on the ball. Maybe going behind will mean Liverpool will open up a bit, but they have been in a very negative shape so far.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  19. Worst possible startpublished at 20:17 BST 8 April

    Paris St-Germain 1-0 Liverpool

    Neil Johnston
BBC Sport at Parc des Princes

The worst possible start for Liverpool.

First serious attempt of the game and they're behind.

Liverpool crumbled after conceding at Manchester City. They have to dig in here but it already looks like it could be a very long night for them in the French capital.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia can perhaps think himself lucky not to have his name taken in the referee's book for his challenge on Ibrahima Konate.
