We have a basement battle at Home Park as Plymouth in 21st face Burton in 20th with both sides level on 27 points. A win for either side could play a big factor in their survival hopes.

Tom Cleverley makes three changes to the side that drew 1-1 Stevenage. Julio Pleguezuelo and Brendan Galloway return to the starting XI while Mathias Ross and Matthew Sorinola drop to the bench and Xavier Amaechi gets a start.

For Burton, Toby Sibbick returns to start. Fabio Tavares gets the nod up front alongside Dylan Williams as Jake Beesley misses out.

  6. Savage back in for Royals; changes for Stockportpublished at 14:49 GMT 4 January

    Reading v Stockport (15:00 GMT)

Reading make one amendment from their New Year's Day line-up as Charlie Savage returns to the starting XI in place of Liam Fraser.

Joseph Olowu has battled illness to make the bench for Stockport but not all are well enough to make the trip.

Corey Addai misses out, while Corey O'Keeffe, Owen Dodgson and Owen Moxon are also absent.

Odin Bailey is on the bench as Jayden Fevrier, Malik Mothersille, Tayo Edun, Jack Hunt and Ben Osborn make up the five changes to the starting line-up.

  7. Reading on the up but can they take down Stockport?published at 14:46 GMT 4 January

    Reading v Stockport (15:00 GMT)

Gosh, it's been going well for Reading lately.

An undefeated run of four games (W3 D1) sees them up into the top 10. While the six-point gap to the play-offs seems big now, another rise up the table today will keep the dream burning a while longer.

However, it'll be a big ask for the Royals to keep sailing so smoothly along the rivers of League One.

Stockport County have now got nine points to make up on second-placed Lincoln City and having failed in the play-offs last season, you can bet anything they will be aiming to wrap up promotion without any need for theatrics in May.

  8. Three changes for Blackpool; five for Bradfordpublished at 14:42 GMT 4 January

    Blackpool v Bradford (15:00 GMT)

Ian Evatt has made three changes from Blackpool's 5-1 mauling at Port Vale on Thursday.

Fraser Horsfall is missing and James Husband is suspended, while Jordan Brown is among the subs.

In come Josh Bowler, Andy Lyons and Scott Banks.

Graham Alexander has rung the changes after Bradford's dismal 3-0 defeat at Mansfield three days ago.

Joe Wright, Neill Byrne, Ciaran Kelly, Brad Halliday and Stephen Humphrys drop out, with Josh Neufville, Antoni Sarcevic, Aden Baldwin and Curtis Tilt coming in and Will Swan handed his first start since November despite his goal drought passing three months.

Wright, Halliday and Humphrys are among the subs.

  9. Bantams aim to bounce back on the roadpublished at 14:40 GMT 4 January

    Blackpool v Bradford (15:00 GMT)

Lincoln's win in the early kick-off means Bradford head to Blackpool knowing they will be third tonight, no matter how they or their promotion rivals fare this afternoon.

While their home form remains imperious, the Bantams head to the seaside having lost their past two away games, at Orient before Christmas and going down meekly 3-0 at Mansfield on Thursday.

Which Blackpool will we see? The one which made it five games unbeaten, and 13 points from them with a 4-0 hammering of Rotherham in their previous home game, or the one which was hammered 5-1 at rock-bottom Port Vale?

Ian Evatt's side have climbed away from the foot of the table up to 17th, but remain just two points clear of the drop zone.

A third straight home win could even see them climb into the top half, depending on results elsewhere.

    What a division!

  10. Blackpool look to regroup after dismal start to 2026published at 14:38 GMT 4 January

    Blackpool v Bradford (15:00 GMT)

Things seemed to be turning a corner for Blackpool under boss Ian Evatt.

A win over Carlisle in the FA Cup kicked off a six-match winning streak but what goes up must come down and, for the Tangerines, it's crash-landed with a bang.

They led Port Vale by 1-0 by half-time on New Year's Day but ended up losing that game 5-1.

Now, a deflated Blackpool meet a Bradford City side looking to close the gap to the automatic promotion places. They're five points behind the top two after Lincoln's win earlier.

  11. Three changes for Cardiff; one for Wiganpublished at 14:35 GMT 4 January

    Cardiff v Wigan (15:00 GMT)

Brian Barry-Murphy has made three changes to Cardiff's XI which drew 1-1 at Wycombe on Thursday.

Cian Ashford, skipper Calum Chambers and Joel Bagan return, with Joel Colwill and Ronan Kpakio dropping to the bench and Gabriel Osho missing out.

Ryan Lowe has made a single change to the Latics' XI which was pegged back to draw 1-1 at home to Barnsley last time out.

Tobias Brenan comes in, with Harrison Bettoni dropping to the bench.

  12. Bluebirds aim to restore three-point leadpublished at 14:33 GMT 4 January

    Cardiff v Wigan (15:00 GMT)

Cardiff go into this afternoon's match with Wigan top of League One on goal difference alone, thanks to Lincoln's big win in the early kick-off.

While Brian Barry-Murphy's Bluebirds have taken a solitary point from their two away games either side of Christmas, they have won all seven home games since the shock defeat against Burton back in the hazy days of September - that's their best run in more than 13 years.

Though they have picked up just two wins in seven and remain three points above the drop zone, Wigan might just have turned a corner on their travels.

The Latics have taken seven points from their past four on the road, have lost just one of their past seven on their travels and have a fine record in Cardiff too, losing on only one of their past 10 visits, claiming 15 points and keeping six clean sheets.

  14. How it looks in League Twopublished at 14:25 GMT 4 January

Chesterfield move into the top six thanks to their last-gasp equaliser against MK Dons.

The Dons also move up a spot but miss out on taking third place from Walsall.

Meanwhile, Cheltenham's over Crawley win means there's no movement at the bottom of the table.

That's how things will stay in League Two today - all 10 other matches have been postponed.

  15. Over to you, Cardiff...published at 14:21 GMT 4 January

Lincoln's thumping win over Peterborough has taken the Imps level on points at the top before Cardiff's game at home to Wigan.

Bradford will stay third no matter their result at Blackpool and though Bolton have edged into fourth with a goalless draw at home to Northampton, Stockport and Huddersfield could be above them in a few hours from now.

The Cobblers are now two points above the drop zone but still within reach of fourth-bottom Plymouth, while Posh's defeat means their stay in the top half could be short-lived.

  16. Postpublished at 14:17 GMT 4 January

We'll let you know what those early results have done to the tables shortly.

In case you missed it, we've lost loads of games in the lower divisions to the cold weather today.

All 10 League Two games that were scheduled for 15:00 GMT have been postponed, while just six are left standing in the third tier.

  17. 'That's a statement win'published at 14:14 GMT 4 January

    FT: Lincoln 5-2 Peterborough

That's a statement win against the form side, off the back of the results against the teams around us.

The experience of Bradley, Reach and Darikwa are vital, they've just found a way to get back into the game and cause Peterborough problems.

The desire and the goals and inspirational moments from Darikwa, what a way to win a game of football.

  18. 'The supporters know what's needed'published at 14:12 GMT 4 January

    FT: Bolton 0-0 Northampton

    Keith Hill
Former Bolton and Barnsley boss on BBC Radio Manchester

My major concern would be the lack of continuity with team selection, there's not many players completing 90 minutes and cementing their place in the side, it's worked so far this season, but we haven't seen consistency in team identity.

The supporters know what's needed, more energy, more urgency and arguably more quality.

What a game. What a season Lincoln are having.

The two sides top of the form table over the past six games played out a humdinger at the LNER.

Posh's six-match unbeaten run is over while the Imps extend their own run to eight games to go level at the top of League One before leaders Cardiff play at 15:00 GMT.

Harry Leonard gave the visitors a deserved lead after 24 minutes but Reeco Hackett, Freddie Draper and the brilliant Tendayi Darikwa turned the game on its head before half-time.

Kyrell Lisbie reduced the arrears just before the hour but within 60 seconds Adam Reach fired home a third in three games and Darikwa lofted a last-gasp fifth to make it 30 points from 13 games for City at home this season.

Now they sit back and watch the Bluebirds face Wigan.
