The big team news from a London City perspective is that top scorer Isobel Goodwin has been dropped to the bench. Eder Maestre has preferred Nikita Parris and Kosovare Asllani up top, with Grace Geyoro behind.

"I love attacking football, I love to be in the opposition half, trying to have a good treatment of the ball, an attacking mentality.
"Liverpool is a team who has achieved less than they deserve. They have a really good manager. They need the points, so I think it becomes a dangerous team. We need to have that humble vision and respect them. I think the match will be very difficult."

The WSL strugglers have signed versatile Swedish midfielder Alice Bergstrom and Norway forward Anna Josendal for undisclosed fees from BK Hacken and Hammarby IF respectively.
Sweden goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, who saved four England penalties in a dramatic quarter-final clash at Euro 2025 last summer, has joined on loan until the end of the season from BK Hacken.
Speaking to the media earlier this week, Taylor said he believes Bergstrom has the profile to play at right-back, while Falk is "in the top five goalkeepers in the world."

It came as something of a surprise when London City Lionesses announced they had parted company with manager Jocelyn Precheur last month.
The Frenchman had led the club to the Women's Super League 2 trophy last season, securing promotion to the top flight for the first time in their short history.
And they were sixth at the halfway point of their debut WSL campaign, with five wins from the first 11 league matches, when Precheur was sacked.
But the controversial decision was not based on results.
Owner Michele Kang wanted a coach capable of implementing a unique style of football - one that aligns with the club's vision of playing in European competition by 2027.
She believes that Eder Maestre is the right man to achieve that goal.

Eder Maestre's last job was at CD Tenerife Femenino in Spain's top-tier, where he guided them to a sixth-placed finish last season.
He resigned from the side - based in the Canary Islands - in December, with the club fifth.
Before joining Tenerife in 2024, he spent two seasons at Real Sociedad as assistant manager to Natalia Arroyo - now Aston Villa's manager.
While Basque Country-born Maestre says he has been inspired by English football, his time working with Arroyo heavily influenced his playing style.
"He is a modern coach, a tactician and very demanding of his players and their talent," Spanish football journalist Marta Grinan told BBC Sport.
"He has always advocated possession football, intelligent pressing and verticality when looking for goals."

Gareth Taylor's side are rooted to the bottom of the table with three points after drawing three and losing eight of their opening 11 games.
Those three draws have come in their last five outings, so things are certainly trending in the right direction.
Today they face London City Lionesses, playing their first game under new head coach Eder Maestre.

Don't think it's a coincidence that Chelsea were the only team who went off on a dedicated training camp during winter break and showed no signs of rustiness. Wonder if other teams will look at this and consider this for future seasons.

A nice touch from Tottenham after full-time.
Ashleigh Neville didn't have the best debut for Leicester today, scoring an own goal against her former side, but at least she's getting to say a proper farewell to Tottenham now.
After almost a decade with the club, and 191 appearances, she is gifted a Spurs shirt signed by all the players, as well as a framed photo montage and a bouquet of flowers.
"Super, super Ash... Super Ashleigh Neville," the Spurs fans chant.

Chelsea start 2026 as they mean to go on.
The only downside on an otherwise perfect afternoon is that they had chances to score even more than the five goals they netted.
Title rivals Man City hold a six goal and a six point advantage at the summit now after their routine win over Everton up north.

She did bag a brilliant assist for Vivianne Miedema's goal, though.
And she has nothing to worry about yet when it comes to the Golden Boot, with her 12 goals putting her well ahead of the five players who have netted five goals each this season.
