    FT: Dundee 1-0 St Mirren

St Mirren have now failed to score in 17 of their 35 games, more often than any other team in the Premiership this season.

They have also failed to score in their past three games in the Premiership - their last longer run of games without scoring in the top flight was a run of five from 14 March 2015 to 13 April 2015.

  3. McLeish laments lack of St Mirren goalspublished at 17:42 BST 2 May

    FT: Dundee 1-0 St Mirren

St Mirren interim manager Craig McLeish suggests a lack of goals has been his side's problem all season and haunted them again at Dens Park.

"Another sore result," he tells BBC Scotland. "I don't think we will have come here often and dominated so much of the game.

"It is sore for the boys. The boys have given everything.

"There are bodies hanging together there. There are bodies playing with pain and injuries and people playing when they probably shouldn't be playing.

"I can't ask any more of them. It is the bit in the final third that we've been searching for all season and we're still searching for it - and that's the bit that can make the difference. The way we are playing probably deserves more from what we are taking.

"Next game [at home to Kilmarnock] was always going to be massive. We have to win now. We are up for the fight."

Next up for St Mirren is a massive match of their own, welcoming relegation rivals Kilmarnock after today's defeat at Dundee.

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Motherwell

That victory for the Bairns sets up a huge encounter against Hibs at home next weekend.

What an atmosphere that'll be at Falkirk Stadium, especially if there are only two or three points between the sides.

  6. 'We had to work our socks off' - McGlynnpublished at 17:34 BST 2 May

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Motherwell

Falkirk head coach John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "The boys gave everything, had to work their socks off.

"Everyone knows how good a team Motherwell are but we've managed to stifle them a little bit nearly every time we've played them, bar the first half of the first game.

"We're delighted with the win, we wanted to try and close that gap on Hibs and we've done that for at least 24 hours, hopefully longer.

"The first half, the intensity, the pace of the game was ridiculous. We had to defend well, Nicky had one really good save in the first half and I think on another day Barney [Stewart] gets himself a hat-trick, maybe it's just a little dip in confidence.

"We managed to defend well as a team, we defended the box and we were a threat throughout the game. I'm delighted for the players, they put so much work into that."

  7. 'Soft goals' frustrate United boss Goodwinpublished at 17:30 BST 2 May

    FT: Kilmarnock 3-0 Dundee United

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "Of course, we're thoroughly disappointed to lose the game. To lose the goals in the fashion we did is the most disappointing part of it.

"We concede really soft goals from our perspective. The three goals were really bad.

"In the first 60, 65 minutes, Kilmarnock were the better team, they were better than us in pretty much every department and they thoroughly deserved all three points on the day.

"There's always something on the line for us as well, even though we find ourselves quite comfortable in that seventh place at the moment.

"If we can go and avoid defeat next week, that would more than likely confirm seventh place.

"The younger players will certainly take valuable lessons from this afternoon and hopefully we'll improve from it."

    FT: Kilmarnock 3-0 Dundee United

Dundee United travelled to Kilmarnock today looking to extend their decent run of form, but they were undone by a hungry Kilmarnock side hunting for survival.

    Premiership table

The idea of Hibs lying down to Celtic tomorrow was already daft, but it goes beyond that when you look at the top-six standings.

Falkirk's win puts Hibs' hold on fifth under threat, while they have been presented with a chance to close the gap on Motherwell in fourth.

For Celtic, though, a victory will move them level on points with Hearts at the summit, with the leaders set to face Rangers in a Tynecastle showdown on bank holiday Monday.

  12. Inverness & East Kilbride seal promotionspublished at 17:15 BST 2 May

    Scottish League 1 & 2

Inverness are heading back to the Championship.

A nervy 2-1 win over Hamilton in the end is enough for them to edge out Stenhousemuir at the League 1 summit.

That means Accies finish second from bottom and will face the relegation play-offs.

In the fourth tier, meanwhile, a five-goal win for East Kilbride seals promotion for Mick Kennedy's men.

  13. 'Big day' as McCann & Killie celebrate crucial winpublished at 17:12 BST 2 May

    FT: Kilmarnock 3-0 Dundee United

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann tells BBC Scotland: "It's such a brilliant result. I asked them to play without the feeling of pressure. They were prepared. It's such a big day for the club that we've managed to get another win at home.

"The away form's really important as well. We need to do a job away from home as well. We've got three games left and we'll look to try and win all three of those.

"Findlay Curtis has shown his versatility. He did more than fine. He did great against a really, really top player in Will Ferry, who's been scoring goals and creating goals for Dundee United, so we knew we had to nullify him. A great finish and a top all-round performance.

"Commiserations to Livingston. I don't take any joy in anybody getting relegated. I'm glad it's not us at this particular moment."

  14. New manager (home) bounce 🏡published at 17:09 BST 2 May

    FT: Kilmarnock 3-0 Dundee United

Under Neil McCann and Billy Dodds, Killie have lost just one of their seven home league games.

They had lost six of their past seven before the new management team joined.

And 58% of Killie's points total this season has now been won since they joined the club.

Will they be able to keep the club in the Scottish Premiership, though?

  15. Livingston's fate sealed - but what about 11th?published at 17:06 BST 2 May

With just 20 points from 35 league matches, including two just two wins, Livingston head back to the Championship on their top-flight return.

It now looks like a two-way fight to avoid 11th place and that dreaded relegation play-off, with a point separating Kilmarnock and St Mirren.

    FT: Falkirk 1-0 Motherwell

Yep, just over 20% of Falkirk's Premiership points have come against Motherwell this season - 10 of 49.

Three victories and a goalless draw in their four encounters with the Steelmen this term.

  17. Falkirk keep flying in dream seasonpublished at 17:01 BST 2 May

Back to winning ways and who would bet against John McGlynn's side reaching fifth place? They just seem to hit every target they set.

Henry Cartwright was the hero today coming off the bench and they complete the campaign having not lost to Motherwell - a feat in itself.

Jens Berthel Askou will no doubt be frustrated. A win would all but have secured Europe for next season. They remain in the driving seat but it's a poor outcome off the back of a stunning win at Ibrox, albeit against a good Falkirk side.

    FT: Dundee 1-0 St Mirren

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Dens Park

A huge win for Dundee, one which puts them on the brink of Premiership safety.

A real hammer blow for St Mirren, who drop in to the relegation play-off place.

They must now pick themselves up for a crunch date with 10th-placed Kilmarnock in Paisley next weekend.

  19. FULL-TIME Dundee 1-0 St Mirrenpublished at 16:55 BST 2 May

Joe Westley's early strike is enough to give Dundee a victory that drops St Mirren into second-bottom spot in the Premiership.

The midfielder prodded in his third goal of the season to end the hosts' five-game run without a victory and move them six points clear of the visitors.

It means Kilmarnock, who beat Dundee United 3-0, move one point above Craig McLeish's side, who now occupy the relegation play-off spot with three games remaining.

  20. FULL-TIME Falkirk 1-0 Motherwellpublished at 16:53 BST 2 May

This season's Falkirk curse continues for Motherwell, who fall to a third defeat of the season to John McGlynn's side.

Henry Cartwright's second-half strike is the difference in a game that was full of chances for both sides and Motherwell will no doubt be rueing their missed opportunities.

The win means Falkirk move within two points of Hibs, who host Celtic tomorrow, while Motherwell remain six above the Edinburgh outfit.

Perhaps the only positive for Motherwell is that they won't have to face Falkirk again this term.
