  3. FULL-TIME Falkirk 1-0 Aberdeenpublished at 16:58 GMT 3 January

Falkirk charge back into the Premiership top six with a narrow win over Aberdeen that dooms the visitors to a fifth game without a win.

John McGlynn's side leapfrogged their opposition thanks to Filip Lissah's second-half header, which came after a first 45 minutes in which they absolutely dominated.

The result means Falkirk have beaten Aberdeen twice this season and move into sixth place and closer to the 40-point target that McGlynn has set his side.

Aberdeen drop back to eighth with their fourth defeat in their last five games.

The French forward scored either side of Tyreece John-Jules' equaliser and Jamie McGrath added a late third from the penalty spot.

That's three wins on the bounce for David Gray's side and 10 points from 12 since their most recent Premiership loss.

    Falkirk 1-0 Aberdeen

That should have been 2-0 and three points for Falkirk.

Brian Graham intercepts and charges towards the Aberdeen box. He could slip it to strike partner Alfie Agyeman, but he takes it himself and skies it.

Not too clever. Will it come back to bite them?

Another big win for Jens Berthel Askou's side, who are now two points behind Celtic and Rangers, albeit having played a game more.

They didn't look overly troubled as they ease aside St Mirren with two excellent goals to continue their push at the top end of the table.

The Buddies, on the other hand, remain 10th, albeit five points clear of Kilmarnock below them.

Dundee have won three on the bounce and move further clear of the relegation fight, while United's five-match unbeaten run is over.

BBC Sport Scotland at Falkirk Stadium

Falkirk have been well worth their lead, but there's still just a goal in this. Aberdeen have created very little, but home manager John McGylnn is shouting instructions from the touchline to get his side over the line.

There's plenty at stake and the chance to creep into the top six for the Bairns.

    Falkirk 1-0 Aberdeen

Henry Cartwright powers forward and strikes for goal... and it's off a post!

There wasn't a lot of pace on it, but enough to get past Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov. Just not the accuracy from the midfielder.

    Another decent effort from Falkirk.

    Kilmarnock 1-3 Hibernian

    Hearts 1-0 Livingston

Tynecastle is a nervy place at the moment. After a dominant first half, Hearts are making heavy weather of the second period.

Can they kill the game in the last five minutes?

Frankie Kent replaces midfielder Tomas Magnusson as Derek McInnes adds a fourth centre-back to proceedings to see it out.

    Motherwell 2-0 St Mirren

Ibrahim Said makes a good run into the St Mirren box, but the winger is blocked by three defenders.

Well are still putting the pressure on the visitors, but Stephen Robinson's side are defending well.
