For all the questions around Wilfried Nancy's approach, results and performances, this has been an emphatic answer.

Celtic have been superb in almost every area. They've created so many chances it's hard to understand how their lead is just one.

The question is whether they can sustain this level?

Rangers will know they've been incredibly fortunate not to be further behind. They remain in touch, but something has to change for them.

  3. HALF-TIME Celtic 1-0 Rangerspublished at 13:22 GMT 3 January

Yang Hyun-jun's goal separates the sides, but Celtic should be further ahead.

Rangers have been second best since the opening five minutes and have much work to do.

Youssef Chermiti is found by a ball lofted over the home defence and the striker's low ball into the six-yard box finds Mikey Moore.

However, the winger's toe-poke finish is met with an offside flag.

  9. Home fans off seats as Yang impressespublished at 13:08 GMT 3 January

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Martin Dowden

His goal was quite something, but Yang Hyun-jun is having his best display for Celtic by a distance.

He's crunching into tackles like a man possessed. Celtic all over the pitch are doing just that and cutting Rangers open almost at will down the channels.

Danny Rohl might need to change this quickly.

It was a really good strike from Johnny Kenny. He's getting into really good positions and that one he curled around the goalkeeper.

That's a brilliant save to keep Rangers in this game.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 31mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

How are Celtic not further ahead?

Jack Butland produces a superb, one-handed save to deny Johnny Kenny from a low drive.

Yang Hyun-jun then prevents a deep cross crossing the line, Butland can only push it up into the air and Emmanuel Fernandez has to clear off the line.

Celtic have had so many chances. Fernandez looks like he's towing a caravan.

Celtic are just trying to cut through Rangers as quick as they can. They are targeting that area.

    That's a big chance.

It comes with a bit of luck, but Schmeichel is out so quickly.

I just wonder if Gassama should open up his left boot and slot it...

Celtic are fortunate after losing the ball in midfield.

Kasper Schmeichel is caught racing out to a cross into the penalty box.

Mikey Moore has the chance to chip the stranded goalkeeper, but the winger's cross is deflected clear.

  20. 'Butland should do better'published at 12:54 GMT 3 January

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

I think Butland should do better. Anyway, it's a brilliant strike from Yang.

Celtic have been cutting through them. He just shells a shot at the near post. Maybe the power beats him.
