If the Netherlands can win, and win well, this afternoon to top the group, it will make the knockout stages very lopsided. Germany, Spain, Portugal and France would all be on the same half of the draw.

The Barcelona forward, who came on with half an hour to go against Austria, is starting against France.
After seeing his side lose to the Netherlands and Austria, the 35-year-old is hoping for an improved performance in Dortmund.
"I hope we will play our best match of the tournament," he said.
"Although we have only pride to play for, I hope we will play good football, create opportunities and score goals.
"We know we cannot fall apart even if things get tough. We need to have a plan and stick to it from start to finish regardless of the outcome."

They packed out the approach to Olympiastadion to greet the arrival of the thousands who had done the fan walk.
It is always interesting seeing the variety of colourful costumes many of them are wearing, and spotting this chap I was curious as to what bearded person he was perhaps impersonating, in orange form of course.
"No-one, I just grabbed the first thing I saw that was orange," he said.

Netherlands at the top of Group D as things stand but I'm struggling to look past the dark horses France. Even without Mbappe they're a frightening attack and I could see them getting 4 or 5 tonight against the aging and leaky Polish defence.

Image source, Getty ImagesAustria boss Ralf Rangnick has urged his side to get the result they need against the Netherlands to avoid the "complicated" scenario from finishing third.
The Austrians will guarantee one of the top two spots in Group D if they beat the Dutch.
A draw or defeat, however, means they will likely finish third and hope to progress as one of the best third-placed sides.
"I prefer to finish first but we have to win and France not to, and it's not very likely for both of those things to happen," Rangnick said.
"I would take second place, third place is too complicated, I looked at it but I gave up because it's too complicated.
"The main goal is to get to the last 16 and then after the last few games we'll see."

The Netherlands can still finish top of Group D, but Austria will be thinking they need at least a draw to go through and they will give this a real go.
Austria are all-energy and a real unit. They work so hard as a team, you can see why they have had some good results.
Their manager Ralf Rangnick tried to implement that at Manchester United but he had a team full of individuals.
Austria are very different. I don’t know if they are a surprise package, because I think they are a capable side.
This is a very dangerous game for the Dutch, who were unlucky to have a goal disallowed for offside against France, but have not been ruthless enough so far.
I am going for an upset, although I am expecting both teams to end up going through.

The two sides, among the favourites to win Euro 2024, played out the tournament's first goalless draw in their last group game.
Spain's win over Albania on Monday confirmed the Netherlands' place in the last 16, but Koeman wants to see more from his players.
"If we think about the whole game there were times we weren't up to scratch," Koeman said about the France draw.
"We lost possession when we shouldn't have and our pressing wasn't great either, there was too much space in between the lines.
"France had better chances than we did."

Image source, Getty ImagesSticking with Kylian Mbappe, France boss Didier Deschamps said the French forward is getting "better every day" in his pre-match news conference.
Mbappe suffered a broken nose in France's opening win over Austria and sat on the bench for the goalless draw with the Netherlands.
The striker, who will join Real Madrid on 1 July, did not require an operation but it was thought he would need to wear a protective mask when he returns to the starting XI.
"He is doing better today than yesterday and the day before that. That is obvious because he has been training," said Deschamps.
"The bruising has come down and he is getting used to the mask. He is as eager to play tomorrow as he was eager to play against the Netherlands.
"He does not find that the mask limits him but it does restrict his vision a little. He needs to get used to it, even though the technology nowadays allows these masks to be as thin as possible."

Hello from Berlin!
The streets towards Olympiastadion were filled with orange and red as fans of the Netherlands and Austria walked in huge numbers to the ground.
Having walked with the Dutch before I decided to sample the atmosphere with the Austrian fans this time.
Image source, BBC SportWhile the Dutch fan, replete with double decker bus, walked right up the stadium, the Austrian fans I walked with got funnelled to a train station a mile or two out.
I had no choice to go along with this but, presumably because the trains were too full, it meant a good 15 minutes of moving nowhere as the Austrian supporters belted out their version of Sweet Caroline. On repeat.
Sorry, Neil Diamond, but that was pretty tough going.

Image source, BBC SportI joined the Netherlands fan march earlier, intending to just walk with them for a few minutes - but once you’re in, you’re in… the streets from their starting point at Hammarskjöldplatz all the way to the Olympiastadion were turned into a river of singing, swaying orange. It’s a scorcher in Berlin today too and those iconic shirts were wonderfully resplendent.

He was holding up a sign saying that Austrian F1 driver Niki Lauda is better than current world champion Max Verstappen.
Plenty of F1 fans will no doubt agree, but still I had to ask him why the sign,
"We saw the schnitzel versus the baguette sign earlier and we needed our own thing, so this made sense," he said.
"We win this and we will win tonight - 3-1 Austria."

This is the third meeting between France and Poland in a major tournament, and first at the UEFA European Championship. Poland won a third place play-off match 3-2 at the 1982 FIFA World Cup, while France won 3-1 in the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup.
France are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Poland in all competitions (W4 D4), since losing a friendly match 4-0 in August 1982.
France haven’t won their final group stage match in any of the last eight major tournaments (World Cup/EUROs), since beating Togo 2-0 at the 2006 FIFA World Cup (D4 L4).
Poland have lost their final group stage match in three of their four previous appearances at the UEFA European Championship, with the exception being a 1-0 win against Ukraine in 2016 – the only time they’ve reached the knockout rounds of the competition.
France are unbeaten in their eight games in the group stage at the UEFA European Championship under Didier Deschamps (W4 D4), with their last such defeat coming on MD3 versus Sweden at EURO 2012 (0-2), under Laurent Blanc.
Poland have lost both of their games at EURO 2024 so far, while they’ve never previously lost three games in a single group stage at a major tournament (World Cup/EUROs).
France are currently on a run of 367 minutes without conceding a goal, having kept a clean sheet in each of their last four internationals. The last player to score against them was Chile’s Darío Osorio in a friendly back in March.
If he plays in this game, Antoine Griezmann will overtake Lilian Thuram (32) as the outfield player with the most major tournament (World Cup/EUROs) appearances for France (currently on 32).
Piotr Zielinski has been directly involved in more shots than any other Poland player at EURO 2024 (11 – seven shots, four chances created), as well as completing the most passes for his side (68) across the first two rounds.
N'Golo Kanté has made more major tournament appearances without losing than any other European player, with France unbeaten in all 17 games he’s played across the UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup (W12 D5).
