  1. See you at the end of May!published at 15:45 BST 3 May

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Montrose

So, we have our two finalists and it's an Old Firm showdown, just like it was in 2023.

Rangers had to work extremely hard as Montrose pushed them all the way, but Craig Feroz's side didn't have enough to punish some slack play from the favourites.

Leanne Crichton certainly didn't mince her words. Her Rangers side will have to be much, much better when they meet Celtic here at the end of the month.

That's the 31st May for that one. Join us then. Goodbye!

  2. Feroz 'really, really proud' of Montrose sidepublished at 15:40 BST 3 May

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Montrose

Montrose manager Craig Feroz tells BBC Scotland: "First half we were excellent and I don't think there was much in it then. Usual story, players tired in the second half and credit to Rangers, they went and did the job.

"Our shape was excellent, the fans were giving Rangers a bit of stick because we were closing them down well. I'm really, really proud of them.

"I've got nothing but pride for the team. Rangers are a really good side, they're in the final and deservedly so, but I'm really proud of them.

"It's been great. It was really personal today. Everyone knew we gave them a game."

  3. Crichton 'won't tolerate' first-half performancepublished at 15:37 BST 3 May

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Montrose

Rangers head coach Leanne Crichton tells BBC Scotland: "Tough game, we always knew it would be. Montrose are a tough nut to crack. The reality is they marginally missed out on the top six. They've been a real handful this season.

"I'd love to say we've had consistency in preparing for it, but losing the players we did heading into this meant we needed to reshape things.

"We tried to be a bit braver in terms of the starting line-up, players who've not had a lot of minutes, but it didn't work. That's a lesson learned for us.

"I was really disappointed with the collective [in the first half], our use of the ball. If you don't want to work hard and track back, and look like you're hungry to win this kind of game, and get to a Cup final, we won't tolerate that."

  4. 'We managed to get to the final - just about'published at 15:30 BST 3 May

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Montrose

Rangers' goalscorer Katie Wilkinson tells BBC Scotland: "They made it super tough for us, we knew they would.

"They're super aggressive, went player for player in the press all over the pitch. It's about getting through the game, getting to the final and we managed that - just about.

"The message was that 'it had to be better'. The tempo of the game, our speed of play, the movement with and without the ball. It wasn't there from us.

"We had to up the gears a lot and there was a small improvement in the second half and we managed to get a couple goals.

"We didn't go direct enough from set pieces in the first half. When we did, you can see what happens."

Scotland head coach on BBC One Scotland

For their first appearance in a Cup semi-final, it's a credit to Montrose how long they stayed in the game and made it difficult for such a top team like Rangers.

They'll be disappointed. Every athlete wants to win, but they'll be proud when they look back on this.

    Joelle Murray
Former Scotland defender on BBC One Scotland

It's a disappointing second goal to conceded from a Montrose perspective, but they can walk off the pitch with their head held high.

They can be very proud of their performance.

  7. FULL-TIME Rangers 2-0 Montrosepublished at 15:23 BST 3 May

A battling, belligerent performance from the Mighty Mo but it isn't enough. They just didn't test Rangers enough at the back.

It will be interesting to hear from Leanne Crichton, who cut a frustrated figure as her side huffed and puffed, and only broke through twice, with the second coming right at the end..

As usual, they had to rely on Katie Wilkinson for the goals, firstly with a header and secondly from the penalty spot.

    Reaction on the way.

GOAL RANGERS 2-0 Montrosepublished at 90+3'

    Katie Wilkinson (pen)

Goal number 40 for the season, and two on the day for Wilkinson.

A cruel way to end the game for Montrose, as Rangers add a little bit of gloss to the scoreline.

    Leanne Crichton still doesn't celebrate.

  9. PENALTYpublished at 90+2'

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

Penalty to Rangers as Erin Henderson clatters into the back of Laura Berry in the box.

It's a tired tackle, that. Katie Wilkinson with a chance to make it two...

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

A couple of late changes for Montrose to try and find something.

Hannah Innes and Erin Henderson are on for Louise Brown and Sophia Martin.

It's been a brave performance at the back but they've just not had that quality up top.

    That should have been that!

Laura Berry rolls her defender superbly and hangs up a cross into the middle. Calliste Brookshire charges to meet it, but powers her header over the bar.

  12. Postpublished at 79'

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

A change now for Montrose as Jodi McLeary receives treatment.

Phoebe Murray is on for Kaela McDonald-Nguah. If Montrose were to score, it probably would've come through McDonald-Nguah, who has 11 in all competitions this season.

  13. Postpublished at 77'

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

Another chance for Rangers as Katie Wilkinson squeezes the ball through to Brogan Hay, but she scuffs her shot wide.

They can't get rid of Montrose.

Meanwhile, Laura Berry is on for Li Mengwen. That's another attacking change for Rangers.

    Cara Henderson
Partick Thistle forward on BBC One Scotland

What a pass from Katie Wilkinson. It's the ball Rangers have been crying out for all day.

What a dream, but it just clips the outside of the bar. Brookshire would want to do better and Rangers would've been home and dry.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 73'

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

Almost a moment of magic from Calliste Brookshire, that would put this game beyond doubt.

Katie Wilkinson slings a brilliant pass out to the left and Brookshire shimmies into the box and unleashes, but the ball clips the bar on the way over.

  16. Postpublished at 70'

    Rangers 1-0 Montrose

Rangers are starting to come forward with a little more ease as Montrose tire.

This time, Li Mengwen sidles into the box and unleashes, but the ball bounces just wide.

Going to be another change for Rangers, with youngster Lily Boyce coming on for Kathy Hill. Leanne Crichton putting a lot of trust in the 17-year-old.
