A goal in midweek and Phil Foden earns his place in Pep Guardiola's starting line-up.
He said after the win over Sparta Prague that he's "back" and Guardiola said yesterday he's very pleased his midfielder is feeling confident again.

Image source, Getty ImagesIt's been a tough old start to life in the Premier League for Kieran McKenna's Ipswich Town but one side who know what they're going through are their opponents today - Brentford.
The Bees have almost become the blueprint for how to come up to the top-flight and succeed having come up in 2021 at the second time of trying and McKenna said they can take inspiration from their journey.
"I think they've done fantastically well- there's no doubt about it," said McKenna. "They've got their own model and though I think everyone's model is different, there's no doubt that they've done a fantastic job as a club and Thomas has done a fantastic job as a manager.
"Different clubs have their own context, but of course there's things that Brentford have done well that we can take some inspiration from.
"They've had their own journey. Our journey is very different to that with the speed of the ascent that we've made, but there's no doubt they've done some things very well and any newly promoted club can look at some of the things they've done and see it as an example."
Brentford v Ipswich (15:00 BST)
A home win, no doubt about it. The Tractor Boys' tyres are well and truly punctured after last week’s home defeat by Everton.
I predicted Ipswich would win that game, but I am not doing that again this season.
I do have some sympathy for manager Kieran McKenna, though. I had an argument with Andros Townsend on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club, because the longer it goes for Ipswich and Southampton without a win so far, the more confidence drains out of their players.
Some have not played in the Premier League before and it is only natural that they will wonder whether they can play at this level.
Losing to Everton was really damaging because it was a game they probably thought they could win.
Going to Brentford would be tough anyway, but I watched the Bees at Old Trafford last week and they must be pretty peeved to have lost after such a good first half.
Brentford are the better team, and they are more streetwise. They won't slip up here.

With Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku ruled out, Guardiola makes four changes to the team that beat Sparta Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Brazilian Ederson returns in goal, while Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol are all included.
Phil Foden starts only his second Premier League game of the season.

Wolves have lost their last five Premier League matches, despite finding the net in each match. The last team to lose six top-flight games in a row while scoring in every game was Manchester City in 1960.

I disagreed with Wolves boss Gary O'Neil because I thought it was correct not to disallow Manchester City's last-gasp winner last weekend.
O'Neil was clutching at straws to compare it to the goal Max Kilman had ruled out against West Ham last season because, unlike Bernardo Silva for City, in that incident Tawanda Chirewa was offside and directly in the goalkeeper’s way.
I felt for O'Neil because Wolves played really well, although in the end I was only four goals out with my prediction of a 6-1 City win.
This is another tough game for them, against a Brighton side who got a really good win at Newcastle last week.
So can Wolves drag themselves up again after giving so much and coming close to getting a point against the champions?
I am really tempted to go for them to get a draw but, although they deserved to get more than one point from their first eight games, they have been inconsistent.
Wolves have definitely got a goal in them, but I am going with Brighton to take the points.

I know he has to say this because if he voiced the feeling of most neutrals about his match he would be accused of being disrespectful but Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is expecting a tough test from Southampton today.
City have not lost a Premier League game at the Etihad Stadium since before the 2022 World Cup, they have not lost a league game anywhere since the loss at Aston Villa last December. Southampton have not won in this stadium since 2004 and have one point from eight games under Russell Martin this season.
This is Pep's assessment in his programme notes: "Southampton did so well to get promoted. Although they have had some difficult results so far, they have played some very good football. I am expecting a difficult game.
"Hopefully we can get a good result and carry on what has been a really positive start to the season."

I just don't know how Southampton pick themselves up from last week's defeat by Leicester, and there is only one outcome here.
It will be a rearguard action from the off by Saints - but they will end up losing. It is a question of how long they can hold out for, and then how many goals Manchester City will score.
In the Fantasy Premier League community, everyone is talking about triple captaining Erling Haaland, because he has not scored in his past three league games.
I'm saying Haaland will not score this week either, but City will score four and keep a clean sheet for the first time in the Premier League since their opening game of the season. They have to stop conceding eventually, surely.
Sutton's prediction: 4-0
Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)
What a week it has been for Aston Villa. Sitting pretty at the top of the Champions League group table following a confident 2-0 victory over Bologna earlier this week.
And things are looking pretty good in the Premier League too.
Unai Emery's side have picked up 17 points in eight top-flight games this season (W5 D2 L1), just the third time they’ve had that many points at this stage, also doing so in 1995-96 (17, finished 4th) and 1998-99 (20, finished 6th).
Bu, last time they played in Europe - beating Bayern Munich 1-0 - they followed it up with a lethargic 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Villa Park. Can they keep the momentum up today?

Again, the question is how will Villa cope with playing in the Champions League this week?
They played well when they beat Bologna on Tuesday, but the last time they had a big European win against Bayern Munich at the start of October, they were pretty flat the following weekend when they drew at home to Manchester United.
That's what worries me, especially against a Bournemouth side who will be flying off the back of beating Arsenal.
The Cherries scored their opener with a lovely set-piece routine and played really well throughout, including when it was 11 versus 11.
So Villa could probably do without this game - but I still think they will extend their 10-game unbeaten run, and maybe this is when they show us they have the required strength in depth.
They actually had quite a strong bench against Bologna and Ollie Watkins will be fresh after only coming on for the final half hour or so. I am going to say he will make the difference.

Manchester City could move top of the league with victory over Southampton today at the Etihad before Liverpool take on Arsenal tomorrow in a huge top-of-the-table clash.
Aston Villa could also move above Arsenal with a win over Bournemouth, who will be flying high after beating Arsenal last time out.
As could Brighton. A win at the AMEX over Wolves would see them shoot up the table into the top four.

The striker seized on two second-half mistakes to punish his former club and take his league goal tally to seven this season.
Ryan Yates had given Forest a 16th-minute lead, only for Jamie Vardy to level soon after.
But the visitors recovered and Wood's clinical finishing ensured they have now lost just one of their opening nine games.
Foxes boss Steve Cooper suffered defeat against his old club - the first time he had faced them since being sacked last December - and watched on frustrated as Leicester were the architects of their own downfall, punished for every error they made.

Everton were unbeaten in their first 27 home league games against Fulham between 1949 and 2018 (W23 D4), winning each of the last 22 of those. Since then, they’ve lost their last three at home to the Cottagers.
Fulham are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games against Everton (W3 D2), keeping four clean sheets in the process. All three of those wins in that run have come at Goodison Park.
Since losing their first four Premier League matches this season, Everton are unbeaten in four games (W2 D2). Only once have the Toffees gone five unbeaten under Sean Dyche, doing so in April and May this year.
Fulham have scored the first goal in each of their last five Premier League games (W2 D1 L2), although they’ve lost the last two. Only six teams have lost three in a row after scoring first, most recently Sheffield United in April and May last season.
Everton have kept six clean sheets in their last seven Premier League games in October (W4 D2 L1), including both games this season.
