I'm not sure what game Mr. Sutton at 18:11 was watching on Sunday. I thought City were comfortably the better side.

Abdukodir Khusanov endured a nightmare debut for Manchester City, producing a comedy of errors inside his first four minutes of action for the club.

After an awful mistake from the £33m signing gifted Chelsea the opening goal in the game in January 2025, he was booked soon after and it was an uphill journey for him from that desperate start.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville said he "felt like crying for the lad" after that game, and following City's Champions League defeat at Real Madrid the following month, ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson said,, external Khusanov had been "like a rabbit in the headlights".

But with City challenging on all four fronts this season, the centre-back has recovered from those early setbacks to emerge as a mainstay in the backline, with manager Pep Guardiola calling him a "top-level player".

  3. Sutton's predictionpublished at 18:46 GMT 11 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC Sport football expert

Crystal Palace's win over Brighton was a huge result for them and the Eagles are definitely not short of firepower - if anything they have got too many centre-forwards now, but that's a good problem to have.

Burnley have had it though - I thought that before they lost at home to West Ham on Saturday, but there can't be any doubt they are going down now.

I don't think the Clarets will get anything here, either, but their fans seem to have turned on manager Scott Parker which I really don't like.

This is the guy who got them up but because the other promoted sides, Sunderland and Leeds, are having better seasons, that has gone against him.

Just on the eyes, whenever I've watched them, Burnley have been competitive and have been in games.

I just think there needs to be a bit of patience from their supporters, but of course they are entitled to their opinion.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-0

  4. Palace hoping to buck home trendpublished at 18:45 GMT 11 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Adams
    BBC Sport journalist

The Eagles are winless in their past seven home league matches (drawn three, lost four), their worst run at Selhurst Park in the top flight since a 15-game stint between August 1997 and April 1998 that ended in relegation.

Two wins from 12 in front of their own fans this season, the last of which came against Brentford on 1 November, means Palace have earned just 37.5% of their total points at home this season - only Tottenham have fared worse.

The image is a BBC Sport graphic from February 9, 2026, illustrating that Crystal Palace have earned the second lowest percentage of their total Premier League points at home during the 2025-26 season up to that point.

If you think about what Burnley had, not under Sean Dyche necessary, but under Vincent Kompany, it was a similar season to what they're having now in terms of results, but there was that sense of attacking football and young players. It felt like they were standing for something which is important for fans.

  7. Has Burnley's recruitment failed them?published at 18:37 GMT 11 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sunderland and Leeds have made a fist of it this season and, in previous seasons, the promoted clubs from the Championship have been in the same boat where they have been scratching around at the bottom of the Premier League.

Burnley fans are looking at what Leeds have done, but they have been flying. The criticism of the ownership, on the face of things, is it just because Burnley haven't got on the right side of recruitment?

Who remembers Sunderland's beachball goal against Liverpool? Well, who can forget, more like!

Cast your mind back to 17th October 2009, when Black Cats striker Darren Bent's strike looked to be a comfortable save for Pepe Reina before the ball struck a beach ball thrown on by the travelling fans.

I humbly request Marco Silva to make sure Harry Wilson and Samuel Chukwueze stay away from Manchester City's net tonight. I do not want five goals to be the requirement to beat the Cottagers going forward.

In a really high-pressure game, would you want Donnarumma or David Raya? You'd go for Donnarumma. In Europe maybe the only one weirdly overlooked is Thibaut Courtois.

I think it's probably those two as the best in the world. The sheer size of Donnarumma.

Raya is fantastic but I think Donnarumma feels more secure to me.

Not only are Liverpool heading north to the Stadium of Light, but they have to go there without their best player this season, Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian misses tonight's match after being sent off against Man City and picking up a one-game ban.

Who will play at right-back with Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and now Szoboszlai missing? Your guess is as good as mine.

    Manchester City line-up

Manchester City make two changes to the side following Sunday's last-gasp victory at Liverpool.

  17. Will Milner equal record tonight?published at 18:16 GMT 11 February

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Brighton & Hove Albion

What are the chances of James Milner equalling the Premier League appearance record against his former club?

Milner, 40, had two spells at Villa Park - one on loan in 2005-06 followed by a permanent transfer between August 2008 and August 2010.

He has made 652 Premier League appearances and needs one more to go level with Gareth Barry, his former Villa and Manchester City team-mate.

  19. Sutton's predictionpublished at 18:11 GMT 11 February

Man City v Fulham (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC Sport football expert

Time will tell, but I am not convinced. I still think the issues that saw City fall behind in the first place will still cost them in future games too.

I just don't see this City team controlling games anymore in the way they used to. In the past, if you got a result against City you were either fortunate or had to play exceptionally well, but this season I've seen them let teams back into games on numerous occasions.

Sunday was no different. They were getting mauled in the second half by wave after wave of Liverpool attacks, before the chaos at the end.

Fulham are a good footballing side and almost got something from City at Craven Cottage in December - I was there, and City only just held on for a 5-4 win.

Marco Silva's side have been hard done by in their past couple of games because they had plenty of chances in their defeat at Manchester United, then could have been well ahead at the break before they lost to Everton too.

This time? Well I think Fulham will score at Etihad Stadium too, and they are due a bit of a break. Maybe they will get it against City, but I am still going for a home win.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

  20. How things standpublished at 18:08 GMT 11 February

Here's how the table looks heading into tonight's games.

With Arsenal at Brentford tomorrow Manchester City can put the pressure on the Premier League leaders by moving to within three points of them with a win tonight.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, will have been celebrating Manchester United late's equaliser against West Ham last night as it means they are two points above the bottom three. Win their game tonight and that gap will be a far more comfortable five points.
