  1. Sutton's predictionpublished at 19:25 GMT 11 February

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC Sport football expert

Brighton have only won one of their past 12 league games so the worry for them has to be that they will get sucked into the relegation scrap.

It was a 4-3 home defeat by Aston Villa in December that was the start of this poor run for Fabian Hurzeler's side, and I don't see it ending at Villa Park.

I'm surprised that the Seagulls are struggling. I looked at their bench against Crystal Palace at the weekend and thought 'blimey, they've got a good squad' but they are underperforming and the fans seem really split on Hurzeler, and have been for a while.

Villa were lucky to get a point against Bournemouth at the weekend and I couldn't believe how Lucas Digne just let Rayan run past him for the Cherries equaliser. He seemed to give up and it was astonishingly bad defending.

Will it be a hat-trick of home defeats, or will they come good again? I've got to back my old team, so I am going with my heart here and saying Morgan Rogers will make the difference.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

  2. Silva's rotten record against Citypublished at 19:24 GMT 11 February

Man City v Fulham (19:30 GMT)

    Matthew Hobbs
    BBC Sport

Man City have defeated Fulham in their past 19 meetings; the longest winning run one side has had against another in English football history.

Marco Silva's men dominated the first half against Everton on Saturday before losing to a late own goal at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers have won just three of their 12 away trips in the Premier League so far this season, while Silva's record is also rotten in this particular fixture.

  3. 'Today is a huge challenge'published at 19:23 GMT 11 February

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to TNT Sports on Matt Cash's exclusion: "He's injured. Hopefully, not [out for long]."

On the game: "Our target is to build our team. We are not watching another team, and what they're doing.

"Today is a huge challenge in everything, and I am so excited. They are tactically a good team, defensively so strong and offensively as well, they have very good positions on the field."

Nottingham Forest v Wolves (19:30 GMT)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Rob Edwards, speaking to TNT Sports: "The reality of where we are, and it is the situation - we can't hide away from that.

"When we came in we knew the difficulty of the task. Our aim is to finish as strongly as possible. We are showing fight.

"Alright, we lost the last three games - that can happen. We have to make sure we show fight in every game and make sure we improve."

With just one win in 12 - Brighton roll up to play third-placed Aston Villa and I see this only ending as a Brighton win. Villa love ending a poor run for someone. 1-0 Brighton inside the first 10 minutes.

  6. Clarets in freefallpublished at 19:18 GMT 11 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Adams
    BBC Sport journalist

For all Crystal Palace's struggles at home, it would be wrong to suggest Wednesday's visitors Burnley are well-placed to take advantage.

Encouraging draws against Manchester United and Spurs bookended a run of four games unbeaten in January, but any optimism arising from that spell has been snuffed out after back-to-back defeats.

The Clarets, who have been stuck in 19th place since late November, are losing ground on West Ham thanks to the latter's improved form, with relegation looking more likely by the day.

Burnley are currently 16 league games without a win, the worst run of any club in Europe's top five leagues. It also means they're one of just two teams in the entire Football League without a league win since the start of November, along with the Championship's bottom side Sheffield Wednesday.

As of February 9, 2026, Burnley's run of 16 games without a win is the longest in Europe's top five leagues.
  7. Sutton's predictionpublished at 19:17 GMT 11 February

Nottingham Forest v Wolves (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
    BBC Sport football expert

I was at Elland Road on Friday and Nottingham Forest were insipid in their defeat by Leeds - they were really flat.

This is a real pressure game for Forest, and in many ways it is the worst possible fixture for them. Wolves are hopeless so, if Forest win, their fans will say 'well we should be beating them, because they are rubbish'.

Lose or even drop points, however, then you can imagine the atmosphere and the mood of the fans, and the pressure that will put on the players.

I don't mean pressure in terms of any calls to sack Forest boss Sean Dyche, but the negativity there will be around the team, when the mood of the fans can be massive when a team is fighting the drop.

Leeds are a great example of that, actually. Just look at the positivity at Elland Road recently and how that has helped Leeds in the past few weeks. It was a very different story when the fans were unhappy earlier in the season.

As for Wolves, well they are not under any pressure any more.

They are playing for pride which is totally different to Forest's situation, where every point counts - and this is going to be a nervy night for the home fans at the City Ground.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1

  8. Can Man City go on an unbeaten run?published at 19:16 GMT 11 February

Man City v Fulham (19:30 GMT)

    Shay Given
Former Newcastle and Man City keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City still have the armoury I think to go on a crazy run now and be unbeaten.

It's not that big of a statement to say that.

The manner in which they won on Sunday against Liverpool, the psychological side. They have gone 'this is ours for the taking'. The belief runs through the whole club and fans where they think, 'do you know what, we still have a great chance'.

That will give them belief for this run-in.

The defence was conceding too many goals but I'd like to think they have sewed up a bit.

  9. Rogers rivalling best young attacking players in Europepublished at 19:14 GMT 11 February

Morgan Rogers has overcome a poor start to the season to become Villa's trump card this season. While Ollie Watkins and Villa's summer attacking reinforcements struggle to provide an end product, Rogers has already equalled last season's tally of eight league goals.

He is also one of only five players still under the age of 24 in Europe's top five leagues to have managed a minimum 20 goals and 20 assists since the start of last season.

  10. Is Hurzeler under pressure?published at 19:13 GMT 11 February

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton were booed off after Sunday's 1-0 home defeat by Crystal Palace and they go into this game having won once in 12 Premier League games.

Their drop in form has left some fans calling for head coach Fabian Hurzeler to get sacked.

He steered Brighton to a top-eight finish in his first season in charge but they're just seven points above the relegation zone and without a top-flight win since 3 January.

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to TNT Sports: "So we had some issues before the game against Palace, and therefore we have some players back. We wanted to change and bring fresh players back on the field.

"Hard work. Only with hard work you can get the results back and when you get the results back, the confidence comes back."

  12. 'Foden's qualities are massively important'published at 19:11 GMT 11 February

Man City v Fulham (19:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to TNT Sports about Fulham: "It is getting better, and better. Marco is an exceptional manager. I remember the first time we faced each other, and he makes incredible things. He is absolutely one of the best."

On Phil Foden: "We are looking for attacking players in midfield, a little bit more consistency. We need him desperately from the beginning or coming from the bench because his special qualities are massively important."

  14. Uncertainty over Dyche?published at 19:05 GMT 11 February

West Ham, who are 18th, were level with Nottingham Forest on 26 points on Tuesday until Benjamin Sesko's 96th-minute equaliser for Manchester United.

It means Forest have an opportunity to put some breathing space between themselves and the bottom three.

Beat rock bottom Wolves and they will pull five points clear of the relegation zone but there is uncertainly over the future of boss Sean Dyche.

Forest have taken 21 points from 17 games under Dyche but that might not be enough to save him, according to BBC Sport's Nick Mashiter.

  15. 'Every game should be a must-win'published at 19:03 GMT 11 February

Nottingham Forest v Wolves (19:30 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche, speaking to TNT Sports: "A must-win. Every game.

"There is a reality to the story if you look at the form table, we are actually ninth in the form table next to Arsenal and Man City. There is a lot of noise and of course there should be. The form is looking OK, overall.

"Every game should be a must-win. You can't rely on others, we have to look after ourselves."

On Thomas Frank being sacked: "Unfortunately, it is the way it is. He is a friend of mine, a football friend. I respect him and I think he is a good guy.

"The demands are high. Social media is playing its part now. There seems a lot of anger and resentment – we have got to live to roll with it. That's what us managers have got to do."

  16. 'Goal is to have back-to-back wins'published at 19:01 GMT 11 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to TNT Sports: "The goal is to have back-to-back wins after an important and very positive win at Brighton after a winless run.

"I think Burnley in most of the games are playing better than the result shows.

"We need a very good performance to get this win.

"This is a good team [Burnley] and a good mix between experienced players and then very young and quick players."

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was taunted with 'sacked in the morning' chants by home fans towards the end of their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

Having taken the Seagulls to eighth in the Premier League last season that seems hard to justify.

Brighton's last away league win on 30 November at Nottingham Forest put them fifth but they have tumbled to 14th since then after one win in 12.

Brighton fans' frustrations have bubbled over during that run but Hurzeler has credit in the bank having only been in charge just over 18 months.

Aston Villa v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

    Aston Villa

After Chelsea were held by Leeds on Tuesday, Champions League chasers Aston Villa will open up a six point gap on fifth place if they beat Brighton at Villa Park.

However, Villa's form has been somewhat indifferent lately and Unai Emery's side are looking to avoid a third straight Premier League home defeat having won eight in a row between 28 September and 3 January.

"Two months ago you were saying, ‘we are contenders to win the Premier League.’ Now two months on, everything I told you two months ago makes sense," said Emery after last Saturday's hard-fought 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

"Why? Because the Premier League is a very difficult league.”
