  1. Will Brora make history?published at 14:56 BST 9 May

Brora Rangers v Edinburgh City (15:00)

After a second successive league title, Brora are looking to reach the senior leagues for the first time in their history.

Having lost in the semi-finals to East Kilbride last season, they were spared another meeting with Lowland League champions when Linlithgow Rose were told they did not qualify for promotion because of their lack of facilities.

Steven Mackay's side have lost just once in nine outings but have now won just once in four, although that was a vital 2-1 defeat of eventual runners-up Brechin City.

It is Brora's first final since losing to Montrose in 2015, when they defeated Edinburgh 4-2 on penalties after two 1-1 draws in the semi-final.

Brora also won the only previous meeting, 3-2 in the capital in a Scottish Cup tie the previous year.

  2. 'We know how big a game it is' - McCannpublished at 14:54 BST 9 May

    St Mirren v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann tells BBC Scotland: "I'm not going to change my message. We encourage the players to take risks. Without risk, you don't get any reward and today is no different.

"We've been full of focus but relaxed at the same time. We're looking forward to the start of the game.

"We don't change in terms of instruction. Today is standing on its own merits. We know how big a game it is."

  3. Edinburgh on brinkpublished at 14:52 BST 9 May

Brora Rangers v Edinburgh City (15:00)

Edinburgh City's 10-year spell in the senior leagues is under threat after they finished bottom of League 2.

Although that was largely down to a 15-point deduction for financial problems, Michael McIndoe's side had suffered seven consecutive defeats before ending the league season on a high with a 5-0 thrashing of second-bottom Dumbarton.

Edinburgh head north to face Highland League champions Brora Rangers without a win in seven away games, all without scoring, and losing the latest six for the loss of 20 goals.

  4. 'As big a moment as any' for St Mirrenpublished at 14:50 BST 9 May

    St Mirren v Kilmarnock (15:00)

St Mirren interim boss Craig McLeish tells BBC Scotland: "Conor [McMenamin] gives us attacking threat in the wing-back role. The bit we're missing is cutting edge in final third and hopefully he brings us that.

"There hasn't been any [anxiety] that's crept into out performances. We just haven't been good enough in the final third all season.

"It's about putting points on the board now. It's a confident group, these are the games you want to be involved in.

"This is as big a moment as any."

  5. 'We've underachieved', says Goodwinpublished at 14:48 BST 9 May

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "I don't think any of us saw that performance at Rugby Park coming [3-0 defeat].

"We've both [Dundee United and Aberdeen] underachieved in the league, it's as simple as that. We had a great season, last season, finishing fourth. We wanted to replicate that and at worst finish in the top six.

"Without us making excuses, you've got to give credit to Motherwell and Falkirk. We'll hope to make some changes in the summer.

"I'm sure Stephen Robinson will do the same. Hopefully that will put us in a better position for next season's campaign."

  6. Will Spartans keep history hopes alive?published at 14:47 BST 9 May

    The Spartans v Clyde (0-1, 15:00)

The Spartans will have to overcome a two-goal deficit if they are to win promotion to League 1 for the first time.

Their title challenge having faltered in the final run-in, Douglas Samuel's Edinburgh side are now three games without a win, having won only twice in eight outings, and have also failed to win their latest three at home.

Clyde's only defeat in six outings came with a 5-0 thumping on their last trip on the road as East Kilbride clinched the title, manager Darren Young having rested some players in preparation for the meeting with the eventual runners-up.

The Bully Wee have never won in eight visits to Ainslie Park, losing 2-1 in March and drawing 1-1 in November, but a repeat of either would be enough to take them to the final as they look to end a three-year spell in League 2.

  7. Accies strong favourites amid tax threatpublished at 14:45 BST 9 May

    Hamilton Academical v Forfar Athletic (3-1, 15:00)

Hamilton Academical continue to be a club in turmoil off the park and face a winding up order from HMRC.

However, they expect that to be withdrawn by the tax authority once they pay a debt owed by the previous owners - and they also look strong favourites to reach the play-off final and retain their place in League 1.

Darian MacKinnon's side only find themselves in the play-off thanks to a 21-point deduction for off-field rule breaking and they entertain Forfar Athletic having lost just once in five outings, winning the other four.

Their 3-1 first-leg win at Station Park ended a six-game unbeaten run that had taken Jim Weir's Forfar to fourth in League 2 and was Accies' fourth win in a row over the Angus side.

  8. Knoester helps Dons be more robust - Robinsonpublished at 14:43 BST 9 May

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson is singing the praises of returning centre-back Mat Knoester.

"He's a key part of giving us stability, experience, and a voice," he tells BBC Scotland.

"We're up against a Dundee United side who rely a lot on balls into the box and long throws and we have to match that area.

"We want to continue the momentum we feel we've created so far in the last three games.

"We want to win every game between now and the end of the season and finish seventh, which would guarantee our safety at the same time."

  9. 'Biggest game of season' for Hibs' Graypublished at 14:42 BST 9 May

    Falkirk v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibs head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "The incentives are clear for both sides going into the game.

"I've spoken a lot about this, but in the post-split fixtures, everything's still achievable for everybody within it, so expect there to be twists and turns from there on.

"But this game's really, well, the biggest game of the season for us now.

"We know what's at stake. The players are ready for it."

  10. Will Naysmith sign off by making history?published at 14:41 BST 9 May

Stenhousemuir v Queen of the South (1-1, 15:00)

Stenhousemuir have paid the price for their highest-ever league finish.

Challenging Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the League 1 title until the final day of the season led to manager Gary Naysmith being poached by Championship club Ayr United for next season.

However, the former Scotland full-back can still make more history before exiting.

Having finished fourth last season, Stenhousemuir lost in the play-off semi-final to Airdrieonians last season but will be confident of reaching their first final after a 1-1 draw away to Queen of the South in the midweek first leg.

Naysmith's part-time side have lost just once in 14 outings and the Dumfries side have not won on their latest four visits to Ochilview Park.

However, Peter Murphy's full-timers are themselves unbeaten in 10 outings, including five on the road, although only three of those were wins as they look to end a four-year absence from the Championship.

Indeed, they have drawn four of their five meetings with Stenhousemuir this season, although they lost 2-0 on their latest visit in January.

  11. Will Airdrieonians avoid drop?published at 14:39 BST 9 May

    Airdrieonians v Alloa Athletic (0-1, 15:00)

Having finished second bottom in the Championship, Airdrieonians need to overturn a 1-0 deficit to extend their two-year stay in the second tier.

While Aaron Taylor-Sinclair's side had headed to Alloa unbeaten in four outings, they have now only won once in five and must add a second if they are to reach the play-off final.

Alloa, who are looking to end a four-year absence from the Championship, won 3-2 on their last visit to The Albert Bartlett Stadium, in the League Cup group stage in July.

However, Andy Graham's side have only won once in five away from home, losing the other four, as they finished fourth in League 1.

  12. Europe would be 'icing on the cake' for McGlynnpublished at 14:37 BST 9 May

    Falkirk v Hibernian (15:00)

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "We've set up a really good, interesting situation where we are only two points behind Hibs.

"We could jump them if we can win today.

"The season's been an amazing season anyway, but to get above Hibs with two games to go and get ourselves into a possible European place would be the icing on the cake.

"So I'm sure Hibs have got other ideas and we'll need to be prepared for that."

  13. Will Bairns leapfrog Hibs?published at 14:36 BST 9 May

    Falkirk v Hibernian (15:00)

Falkirk beat Motherwell 1-0 last time out to revive their European qualification hopes and end a three-game run without a victory.

John McGlynn's side are now just two points behind stumbling fifth-top visitors whose cause has not been helped by having four players sent off in their latest three games.

David Gray's Hibs have lost three in a row, last losing four under Lee Johnson in 2023, and are also three successive away games without a win.

The Edinburgh side were swept aside 4-1 on their last visit to Falkirk in January and have not won there in their latest three.

  14. Knoester starts for Dons; Three United changespublished at 14:34 BST 9 May

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

Aberdeen make two changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Livingston last Friday night.

Centre-half Mats Knoester starts after making an appearance from the bench last time out, with Alexander Jensen dropping out.

Midfielder Emmanuel Gyamfi returns to the starting XI after being sidelined against Livingston after suffering a concussion during training. Mitchel Frame drops to the bench.

Jim Goodwin makes three changes to United side that lost 3-0 to Kilmarnock last weekend.

Centre-back Sam Cleall-Harding, midfielder Panutche Camara and striker Max Watters all drop to the bench.

Iurie Iovu, Ryan Strain and Vicko Sevelj come into the starting line-up.

  15. Lack of goals versus poor away formpublished at 14:32 BST 9 May

    St Mirren v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Neil McCann has yet to resolve Kilmarnock's poor away form since taking charge in January.

Meanwhile, since he became interim boss in March, St Mirren's Craig McLeish is still searching for a solution to a lack of firepower, with the Buddies' 27 league goals being at least eight fewer than any other side.

  16. Second-bottom decider?published at 14:31 BST 9 May

    St Mirren v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Today's 90 minutes in Paisley could go a long way to deciding which of these two sides face Partick Thistle or Dunfermline in the Premiership play-off final.

St Mirren have slipped to second bottom after three league defeats in a row - four overall including their Scottish Cup semi-final exit to Celtic.

Kilmarnock overtook them by a point after last week's 3-0 win over Dundee United ended a three-game run without a victory.

However, they still have not won in 14 away from home, losing the latest three.

Kilmarnock won their latest meeting with St Mirren 4-3 at Rugby Park in February and drew 0-0 on latest visit to Paisley in December. The Ayrshire side have not won in their latest three visits but have kept a clean sheet in five of their latest seven.

  17. Dundee to secure safety?published at 14:27 BST 9 May

    Dundee v Livingston (15:00)

Dundee are almost safe from relegation after beating St Mirren last time out to end a five-game run without a win and move six points clear of a Buddies side now in the relegation play-off spot.

Head coach Steven Pressley remains wary despite the visitors now being relegated. Little wonder considering Livingston have lost just twice in nine outings after last Friday's 2-2 draw with Aberdeen and won their latest game away from home against St Mirren to end 33-game run without a victory.

Indeed, their latest two meetings have ended 2-2, with Dundee edging the previous game 3-2 at Dens Park.

However, with the Dark Blues winning the previous four, they are six unbeaten against Livingston since home and away defeats in 2022.

  18. Will Arfield start Livi reign with win?published at 14:25 BST 9 May

    Dundee v Livingston (15:00)

Livingston head to Dens Park without a head coach and with little to play for after relegation was confirmed following Kilmarnock's win on Saturday.

Marvin Bartley exited on Thursday saying he and coach Neil Hastings felt they had no option but to resign after being asked to reapply for their jobs.

It came as a surprise as, although he failed to rescue them from relegation since David Martindale moved upstairs to a sporting director role in February, the former midfielder had improved results and performances - including a defeat of St Mirren that ended a 33-game run without a victory.

Now they head to Dens Park with current veteran former Rangers and Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield in interim charge.

  19. Little to separate sides at Pittodrie?published at 14:22 BST 9 May

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

While form slightly favours the Dons as they look to narrow the gap with the seventh-placed visitors, another tight affair is expected at Pittodrie considering their latest two meetings have been drawn, finishing 1-1 on United's last trip up the A90 in December.

Overall, United are unbeaten in six meetings with Aberdeen, but four of those were at home and, having drawn on their last two visits, the Tannadice side have not won at Pittodrie in six visits since a 3-0 Scottish Cup win in 2021.

  20. Dons' form to hold sway?published at 14:20 BST 9 May

    Aberdeen v Dundee United (15:00)

After a sticky start under Stephen Robinson, Aberdeen are now unbeaten in three games under the former St Mirren manager and have picked up more points in their past three games than in the previous 16.

They are unbeaten in three at Pittodrie, winning the latest two without conceding a goal, and are now just six points behind seventh-placed United - and, more crucially, seven ahead of St Mirren in the relegation play-off place.

In contrast, the visitors lost 3-0 away to Kilmarnock last time out and are now without a win in five on the road, losing four of them.
