    Championship table

Southampton's late win at Swansea heaps the pressure on Ipswich and Middlesbrough when they meet tomorrow - don't forget it is Southampton v Ipswich on 28 April.

Millwall have second place for now after their lunchtime win over QPR.

Wrexham's win over Stoke keeps them in the play-off picture as does Derby's victory against Oxford but Hull City let two points slip in a draw at Birmingham.

It is looking grim for Leicester and Oxford at the bottom after both lost at lunchtime and West Brom won at Preston.

Leicester fan here. Genuinely hope WBA don't get docked points. It would be a travesty staying up at the expense of another team just trying to stay up as we did. Anyway the baggies deserve to stay up, unlike us.

    Gary, Leicester

Same old story for Stoke City... We just don't know where the next goal is coming from. This has been the case since December and Robins just doesn't seem to smell the danger in that. Time to go!

    Daniel, Northants

Thank you WBA. What a birthday present. Nice to see Dike and Maja on the scoresheet. Boing Boing

Oooft, what a day this has been across the second tier.

Thumbs up if you're pleased with your side's result and down if you're feeling less than happy just now.

    Adam Blackmore
    BBC Radio Solent Southampton commentator

Southampton stuck at it and they are absolutely showing their quality now.

    Their charge toward promotion continues.

  9. 'Average is good enough'published at 16:58 BST 18 April

    Swansea 1-2 Southampton

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

I can't say Southampton deserved it because they haven't been brilliant.

But their average performance is good enough and the character of the Saints side propels them in this league.

Swansea didn't really get to grips with the game and didn't effect the game at all.

    Bristol City 2-4 Norwich

Bristol City boss Roy Hodgson's first loss is dramatic one after a stellar second half from Phillipe Clement's Canaries.

Mohamed Toure scored his SECOND hat-trick for the Canaries since joining in February to complete the comeback with two quality goals and a stroke of luck.

Jose Cordoba's header gave Norwich fourth but Bristol City managed to steal one back through Sam Bell in added time to make the score line a little more respectable.

I mentioned earlier what might have been had Phillipe Clement had a full season with Norwich City. Next season will surely be one to watch.

    Swansea 1-2 Southampton

Southampton just keep coming up with the answers and put more pressure on the automatic promotion places with a massive win.

It took a second-half equaliser from substitute Shea Charles to get them going after Marko Stamenic had given Swansea the lead.

But substitute Cameron Archer is the hero with a 90th-minute winner and it is over to Ipswich and Middlesbrough tomorrow.

A second-half double from Patrick Bamford earns Sheffield United their first away win since the end of February and only a third clean sheet in 21 games since Boxing Day.

Watford can start thinking about next season, if they haven't already.

    Wrexham 2-0 Stoke

    Barry Horne
Former Wrexham and Birmingham City midfielder on BBC Radio Wales

    A strange game.

A good afternoon though and a good afternoon for Wrexham.

A good game to watch overall and it all came own to that one minute, two crazy goals, and it was plain sailing for Wrexham.

Stoke City looked defeated and the game just drifted and drifted.

    Preston 0-2 West Brom

Albion take a big three points to go five clear of relegation.

Daryl Dike consolidated Josh Maja's opening goal with a sharp strike from the box and all the brightness Preston had brought to the second half suddenly dulled.

The Baggies still face a potential points deduction but this win could be a difference-maker even so.

GOAL: Bristol City 2-4 Norwich Citypublished at 16:54 BST 18 April

    Sam Bell (90 +3 mins)

A late treat for those home fans who have stayed until the death.

Norwich fail to deal with a bouncing ball in the box following the counter and it lays up just right for Sam Bell to rifle it into the net to reduce the deficit.
