    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

    How are Barcelona not ahead?!

Stunning play from the hosts around the edge of the penalty box results in Raphinha driving towards the bottom corner.

Aaron Ramsdale parries away and it falls to Lamine Yamal, who blasts over the bar from four yards out and how on earth has that not caused the roof of the net to bulge?

More last-ditch defending from Dan Burn as he hooks the ball away from his own goal.

  7. Burn shows 'excellent defending'published at 18:27 GMT 18 March

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

That was magnificent defending, it really was. It was two v one, Lewandoski has gone across and Burn has read it perfectly. Excellent defending.

  8. 'Great defending'published at 18:26 GMT 18 March

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Great defending by Dan Burn, but that was Barcelona's first attack in ages.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

    Elizabeth Conway
    BBC Sport Spanish football reporter

I think even the Spanish journalists are surprised by how boldly Newcastle have started.

"Newcastle are believing it, they want the ball. They are the better side in this first half hour of the match."

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

Malick Thiaw gets caught in possession and Barcelona look to take advantage but Dan Burn makes a huge block to deny the hosts.

The ball loops up into the air and the Newcastle defender heads over the bar to ensure it is only a corner conceded.

    Brilliant bit of defending.

It's Elanga's best half in a Newcastle shirt. Not just his goals but that pace and that threat in behind.

Eddie Howe's game plan is working perfectly.

The problem, Dave from Wales, is that Newcastle can't seem to defend either.

    Oh hello.

Anthony Elanga goes down in the penalty box after a bit of a coming together with Fermin Lopez.

VAR has a quick look at it but deems it is not enough for a penalty.

  14. 'Barcelona look vulnerable'published at 18:23 GMT 18 March

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Newcastle are doing well with and without the ball. Barcelona look so vulnerable at the back with their high line.

They've allowed Yamal to have the ball but most of the time he's been facing his own goal. Hall has done a real good job on him so far.

Barcelona can’t defend to save their lives. If Newcastle don’t win this then they don’t deserve to be in the competition.

The way Eddie Howe has set-up, going man for man is so brave.

Barcelona are still a very capable team but they're going toe-to-toe, that's just Eddie Howe all over isn't it?

  18. Postpublished at 18:20 GMT 18 March

The threat of Newcastle's front line is there every single time.

Lewis Hall once again links up brilliantly with Anthony Elanga but the ball across the box is intercepted.

  19. Elanga's goal is 'excellent'published at 18:18 GMT 18 March

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

What a game we've got on our hands. It's a fabulous goal. Young boy Yamal tried a back heel, it's not an area to try that.

Hall does ever so well, Barnes does a good job to send it in, Elanga, excellent. What a performance this is from Newcastle.

Can they hold them? They just need to stop Barcelona from conceding in these next five minutes.

  20. Postpublished at 18:17 GMT 18 March

    Barcelona 2-2 Newcastle (agg 3-3)

Ohhh, almost a third for Newcastle.

Anthony Elanga picks up the ball on the right-hand side and finds the advancing Anthony Gordon, who sees his effort saved.

Elanga had just made his run too soon anyway, the offside flag goes up.
