Tom Cannon forces a corner for Sheffield United which is slung in from the left to prompt a real old school goalmouth scramble. Danny Ings has a go and Harrison Burrows another. Matt Crooks digs it off the line as Hull City survive.

Not sure this will count as a first Owls shot on target but Harry Amass gets his low cross from the left of the area slightly wrong and curls straight at Carl Rushworth, who crouches to gather at his near post, though crucially not muddying his kit, laundry news watchers.

The substitute gets a glancing header on it but not enough and it flies past the far post as another chance goes begging.

At the other end Ryan Giles has a chance to seal the victory but sees a half hearted effort, part pass part shot, from the left side blocked by Mark McGuinness.

Haji Wright is heading off for a breather for City, having moved to nine goals for the season with that controversial third before half-time.

He's replaced by 19-year-old Kai Andrews.

To their credit Wednesday are still plugging away and Jamal Lowe curls a ball into the box for young defender Ernie Weaver to glance a header past the far post, searching for his first Owls goal.
