  1. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:01 BST 4 October 2025

    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

Tyrese Campbell finds the side netting from a tightening angle and proves to be his last significant contribution as he feels the shepherd's crook.

Tom Cannon is on to replace him along with Harrison Burrows who replaces Sam McCallum with the Blades are pressing for an equaliser.

    Ellis Simms (68 mins)

    What a move this is.

Brandon Thomas-Asante sprays the ball 50 yards across the field on halfway where Kayne Kesler-Hayden nods the ball on into the path of Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, who drives forward before slipping KKH back in on the right to whip a low cross to the far post to Ellis Simms to turn into the unguarded net.

Ruthless, clinical, and that's the cue for many Owls fans to head for the exits.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:59 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Brandon Thomas-Asante's cross is met by Ellis Simms, with his effort flicking off Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, drawing a fine reaction save from Owls keeper Ethan Horvath.

  4. PENALTY SHOUTpublished at 13:58 BST 4 October 2025

    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

And that looks a very good one with Tyrese Campbell looking to have had his foot trodden on just inside the area as he is challenged by Lewie Coyle.

Missed by the referee Gavin Ward who, it should be said, has been good today.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:58 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Under half an hour to go and Wednesday have had a good few minutes.

Here comes an attacking change as Bailey Cadamarteri and defender Dominic Iorfa are withdrawn with Charlie McNeill and George Brown coming on to try and spark some kind of revival.

  6. 'Wednesday are having a bit of a spell here'published at 13:57 BST 4 October 2025

    Rob Gurney

Wednesday are having a bit of a spell here.

    Coventry look comfortable, though.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:55 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Jay Dasilva goes into the book for a lunge on Jamal Lowe down the Owls right.

it's his last contribution as he heads off along with Milan van Ewijk to be replaced by Kayne Kesler-Hayden and Jake Bidwell.

Coventry seeing this game out very professionally.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:54 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Brandon Thomas-Asante is denied a hat-trick as he is somehow left in space to get his head on Matt Grimes' deep corner, only for Ethan Horvath to clutch the ball falling to his right.

  9. CLOSE!published at 13:54 BST 4 October 2025

    Blackburn 0-1 Stoke

Stoke come close again to doubling their lead.

Million Manhoef cuts in on his left foot and bends one towards the far corner but it is well saved.

  10. Postpublished at 13:53 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Henrik Pedersen scratches his head on the Wednesday touchline.

He's picked the same XI for all three games this week, he is not blessed with the most stacked of benches, with lots of inexperienced youngsters on there.

Ike Ugbo might get a run at some point, but this is a glaring example of how the club's problems run deeper than just the ones we have seen on the pitch this afternoon.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:52 BST 4 October 2025

    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

Gus Hamer forces a comfortable save from Ivor Pandur and both managers take it as the prefect time for some personnel changes.

Liam Miller and Matt Crooks are on for Hull with Darko Gyabi and the goalscorer David Akintola off.

For the Blades Tom Davies and veteran striker Danny Ings replace Callum O'Hare and Sydie Peck.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:52 BST 4 October 2025

    Blackburn 0-1 Stoke

Blackburn ring a couple of changes.

Ryoya Morishita and Andri Guojohnsen come off for Augustus Kargbo and Yuki Ohashi.

  13. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 13:48 BST 4 October 2025

    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

Oliver McBurnie of Hull City (right) protests to the refereeImage source, Rex Features

Oli McBurnie and Mark McGuinness have both gone into the book after getting in a bit of a dust up as they wait for a Hull City corner.

  14. Postpublished at 13:48 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Carl Rushworth is doing his bit for the environment today.

The City keeper's kit will not need washing after the match, at this rate. Wednesday have yet to muster a shot on target.

He's still locked in though, he produces a perfect Cruyff turn to spin away from a blue-and-white shirt closing him down, to cheers from the packed away end.

As a Swans fan and being involved in a few instances recently (disallowed goal, denied pen for, denied pen against), I would rather the drama of injustice than the tedium of VAR. The Championship is the best league in the world because that drama is real. Don't take that away.

  16. 'We need a spark'published at 13:48 BST 4 October 2025

    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

    Carl Asaba
Former Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

The home team are really starting to take control.

We need an out-ball to get us going, we need a spark.

  17. Postpublished at 13:47 BST 4 October 2025

    Blackburn 0-1 Stoke

Stoke have a chance to double their lead but fail to capitalise.

Sorba Thomas runs clean in behind and has a really good option to square it to a teammate who is in space across from him.

But before he can make the pass, Ryan Alebiosu makes a tremendous sliding tackle to stop the attack.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:46 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Better from the Owls going forward as Jamal Lowe marauds into the box and manages to get in a low cross, but it won't drop to a blue and white shirt.

Luke Woolfenden is coming on for the visitors, along with Ellis Simms, with Ephron Mason-Clark and Liam Kitching making way. Frank Lampard shuffling his pack after a gruelling three games in seven days?

  19. Postpublished at 13:44 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Haji Wright puts just too much mustard on his defence-splitting pass for Ephron Mason-Clarke, sending him slightly wide in the box and allowing Liam Palmer to get back and pinch possession as the City man tried to cut back onto his right foot.

Owls at sixes and sevens at the back at times, though, and you wouldn't bet against City getting one of those numbers here this afternoon, if we're honest. They might have had them already.

  20. 'Coventry aren't as convincing at the back'published at 13:44 BST 4 October 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

Coventry are convincingly in front but every time Sheffield Wednesday come forward they look like scoring.

Coventry aren't as convincing at the back, I won't be surprised if Wednesday go and score in the game.
