  1. It's been an 'embarrassing' seasonpublished at 18:47 BST 24 May

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Everton

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Micky van de Ven speaking to BBC Sports match of the day: "I think everyone was behind us today and we played with 12 men on the pitch.

Everton were unbelievable, they kept pushing us and when we needed to defend but they kept pushing, I think they were a massive part of the win."

On what he did when he found out West Ham United were up at half-time: "I though that is when we need to be switched on but I did't tell this to everyone because obviously people will start stressing butI made sure we stayed switched on and we did."

On if he is embarrassed at the season that lead to this game: "It is unaccessible that the last game we played this season we play for relegation. This club has some unbeilable players. It was embarrassing to let it come to the final day but we did it and that is what is important."

On his feelings now: "To be honest I was more emotional at the end of the final whistle, it has been a tough season for me personally as well. I played almost every game and I have suffered a lot, the emotions are really happy and we must not let it happen again."

  2. 'Now is the time to take decisions'published at 18:46 BST 24 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bouremouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, speaking to Sky Sports: "We cannot ask for much more. We finish the season in an incredible run of games, we haven't lost against any team in the second game we've faced them. We beat the club points record, we finished sixth, we get the Europa League. We were fighting for the cherry on the cake but City and Liverpool didn't help us. Still, we are celebrating.

"It is fully deserved. I have been so lucky to have the group of players the last three years. I'm so happy for them, the club, the supporters, but especially the players."

On it being his final game: "You start to think about everything and I enjoyed the moment with the supporters. A lovely way to end the season."

On what's been key to reinventing Bournemouth: "I think this season has been a challenge because we change the team a lot but I think we've arrived. The second half of the season has been incredible. We've benefited from the group that has been here for three years. I've really enjoyed it and definitely I'm going to miss them."

On if there is any part that wishes he was still here next year: "At the end you have to take the decisions when you have to take them. It took me a lot to decide. Once you get to the decision I think you feel relieved. I think it has also had a positive influence. I think the relationship with the club is also good. Sometimes you fear a negative effect but it has been the other way. Players have shown everything, I love them a lot and I am going to miss them."

On what is next: "Now is going to be the time to take decisions. I didn't want to focus on other things before the season ended. For me it was massive to get this team in Europe. Now I will have to take decisions and I suppose it will not take long.

"It is a matter of feeling, feeling the team, the players, the correct place, more than if it is a bigger club. Sometimes they are not rational decisions, you don't know why but you see it clearly. I don't really know what I am going to do. I know there are some options but it is time now to recover a little bit, think with my family and let's see where the future is."

On what Bournemouth means to him: "For me is has been a big lesson. I have been learning continuously. I felt the team since the beginning, I was already in love with some of the players and could envision that we could do it. The Premier League is so demanding that you have to adapt quickly. I really enjoy it."

Spurs need a hell of a rebuild if they are going to get anywhere near the top half of the table. De Zerbi has done just enough to keep them up, but they've been woeful in the league for 2 years. Attracting players is going to be a challenge too.

  4. 'The best day is still to come'published at 18:42 BST 24 May

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    Crystal Palace

Oliver Glasner took to the pitch to speak to the fans inside Selhurst Park: "What I learnt in two years here is that you almost always have to agree with the chairman, but today I don't have to agree. He said the best day possible was the FA Cup final, but I think the best day is still to come in three days in Leipzig.

"I got so many nice messages from you where you said 'the team gave us belief' and I think this is the most important thing. When you have someone believe in you it is the best feeling you can have. You gave us the feeling that everything is possible and that is why we go for the trophy on Wednesday.

"Two years and two months ago, I arrived and you probbaly didn't know me. I came as a stranger but now I feel like a South Londoner. Thank you very much for this."

  5. 'I'm excited because we'll be better next year'published at 18:41 BST 24 May

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford boss Keith Andrews, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have it all. Everyone can see that. We had to suffer a bit in the first half but we came back onto it in the second half and threw everyone at it. It was must win for us if we wanted to get into Europe. We're coming to Anfield and we're disappointed we haven't won. That shows a lot about our season.

On the season: "We stabilised and it took a lot of hard work and a lot of tough decisions. We needed to come together stronger than ever. Everyone has given absolutely everything.

"I'm excited because we'll be better next year."

  6. 'We should be happy with what we achieved'published at 18:40 BST 24 May

    FT: Brighton 0-3 Man Utd

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day after his side qualified for the Conference League: "It was the worst time for this performance from us but we have to look at it overall in what we achieved.

"We had a difficult season with lots of highs and lows, so to finish eighth is good.

"We weren't good enough today or on our highest level today. We have to accept it. There is nothing to analyse because the season is over now. The goal distracted us and we couldn't react well to the goals.

"We had a bad run, kept going, kept fighting and that was quite positive. When you see the overall season we should be happy with what we achieved."

  7. 'We've got to progress and improve next season'published at 18:39 BST 24 May

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Everton

    Everton

Everton defender James Tarkowski, speaking to Sky Sports: "Ultimately the corner decided the game so there are more disappointing ways to lose.

"I didn't think we played very well and it probably took us 75 minutes to get going. It has been a disappointing end to the season and we've drifted down the table. We've ended the season on a bit of a low.

"It's probably just a sign of where we are at as a team. We had a solid away record earlier in the season but have struggle to continue that recently. We have work to do and we knew that anyway. We knew we weren't the finished article.

"I am proud but the way it has ended is disappointing. We were in an exciting position five or six weeks ago so it hurts and feels a bit rubbish. But on reflection in a few weeks time we'll probably say it wasn't a bad season.

"We know the size of the club and where everyone expects to be. We've got to progress and improve next season."

  8. 'A really long season'published at 18:37 BST 24 May

    FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bournemouth

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought the first half was really positive. We just didn't really take that into the second half, I think the heat played into it. It's been a really long season, a difficult season, but I'm really proud of the way the boys ended it.

"It is so important how we finished the season. With all the managerial changes we've had this season, credit to the boys, credit to the manager coming in and showing his belief to the players. We pulled through."

On not making the England sqad: "It is what it is. I know myself I have done more than enough to be in the squad. I just got on the wrong side of someone's opinion. I have been on the wrong side of people's opinions throughout my career so I'm only going to bounce back."

"We had a good conversation. I respect him for calling me and telling the news. I agreed with what he had to say. I'm glad the season is behind us now, I'm going to concentrate on the summer."

On how far they are from last year: "Not far off at all. I think having one game a week will help us manager, and having a full pre-season with the manager is going to be really important. It's just about resting, recovering, and seeing how the season starts."

  9. 'Hurt is the only thing'published at 18:36 BST 24 May

    FT: West Ham 3-0 Leeds

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Not really [a consolation that West Ham did what they needed to] because we never wanted to be in this situation.

"Coming into the game, we had to take care of ourselves and hold onto that bit of hope that we had. That's all we could do. We were relying on another result.

    "Ultimately, it's not enough."

On how it feels to be relegated: "Just hurt. I've been here six and a half years now. Had a lot of good moments and this outweighs all of it. Getting this club relegated... it hurts.

"We shouldn't be in the position we're in but we've found ourselves in it and we've not done enough to stay up. Hurt is the only thing."

On going down with 39 points: "We've had so many games when we could have got different results. You can look at it and say 'these, these, these, these' but, ultimately, we didn't pick the points up and in this league, the quality is so high and we didn't give ourselves enough of a chance.

"You can individualise every single game. You can't look back at every game but in some games we didn't show the levels consistently enough."

On future and if Nuno should stay: "It's still very, very raw. Talking about futures is disrespectful to the club, the fans, everything like that. This club deserves to be in the Premier League. Our aim now is to get this club back into the Premier League."

On his own future: "It's disrespectful to everyone to start talking about that. I want this club to be in the Premier League. It's a club that means so much to me and has given me so much so my vision is to get this club back in the Premier League."

  10. Fernandes 'very proud' to eclipse Henry & De Bruynepublished at 18:36 BST 24 May

    FT: Brighton 0-3 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, speaking to Sky Sports: “It’s great [breaking the assists record]. I feel very happy for that. Very proud moment, obviously it is not something I would dream or think about until I got this close.

“Today I was lucky enough to get that. Jonny [Evans] believed more than me in that set-piece we prepared for Patrick because I was not so sure he would be able to score with his head. I got my assist but the main thing is we won today and finished very strong.

“It was already special being in their [Thierry Henrry & Kevin de Bruyne] company. We are talking about two players that made the Premier League so great, and they were two of the greatest in the Premier League.

“My style of playing has always been the same. Creation has not been something that has changed or improved, The biggest difference is my team-mates have scored more goals than before, and I get the credit for that."

On Michael Carrick's appointment as permanent boss: "Obviously it is a very important step for our club. We need stability in terms of managing and since Michael came to the club, you know how calm he is and the calmness he gives to the team but also in the moments he needs to put pressure on us he does to.

“He knows the club, what is means and what it demands to be at this club we are very excited for what is coming. We finished strong and that’s a good sign for what is coming.”

Almost half an hour after the final whistle, Mo Salah is stood in front of thousands of Liverpool fans in front of The Kop with his daughters Makka and Kayan.

Plenty of Brentford fans have also stayed behind to watch the farewells.

And for the last time The Kop sings: 'Mo Salah, Mo Salah, Mo Salah, Running Down The Wing, Salah, La-La, La-La, The Egyptian King'.

He came, he saw and he conquered.

  13. 'We've played a fantastic season'published at 18:32 BST 24 May

    FT: West Ham 3-0 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Daniel Farke, speaking to Sky Sports: "To be honest, this was probably one game too many, without several key players today. Not in the first half, we missed a few big chances but in the second half we missed many, many key players and missed a bit of quality.

"But we've played a fantastic season as a promoted side. To finish 14th on 47 points is massive, especially given how difficult it was for promoted sides last season.

"We've had many top quality performances, not today but over the season. Compliments to my players and staff, and also to our supporters."

On reasons for such a good first season back in the top flight: "The quality of performance was always on a really good level. We started with the first home game against Everton with a win.

"Consistency in the performances, the Arsenal games were a bit too much for us but otherwise we were competitive. We lacked efficiency early on, dominated the statistics but not the score line - the only thing that matters.

"We are not the side with the most individual quality but, as a side, we have shown a lot of skills."

On the summer ahead: "Right now, I'm just tired and want to go home and enjoy the break. You always have to be switched on because you won't win one point as a promoted side in this league if you want"I need to recharge a little but then we look forward to taking the next steps."

  14. The wait for the Premier League trophy lift is still going onpublished at 18:30 BST 24 May

The Arsenal fans and players are still waiting to lift the Premier League trophy.

Crystal Palace are currently doing their end of season awards and are saying goodbye to Oliver Glasner who has managed his last league match for the club.

Glasner is leaving the club after the Conference League on Wednesday.

He leaves as one of the best managers in the club's history.

Once the players leave the field, the Arsenal side will come on the pitch to lift the trophy.

What a job De Zerbi has done. Imagine if he had those extra games that Tudor was involved. A good clear out of the players who clearly don’t want to be there and we have some excellent young players to build on. Maybe the utter chaos of this season will be the clear restart that the club needs.

  16. 'Amazing feeling after tough season'published at 18:29 BST 24 May

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Everton

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham midfielder Joao Palhinha speaking to Sky Sports: "It's an amazing feeling after a really tough season.

"A lot of things happened this season but we showed today what we can do. After a bad season like this one we showed up as a collective and had amazing support from the fans.

"The club will grow up with this season and we know what we have to do in the future. It's a big pleasure to play here with a top coach and top team-mates. We have to celebrate even if we didn't finish the position we deserve as Tottenham."

On his goal: "It was just a goal. I just tried to help the team. I had a lot of emotions and wanted to dedicate it to my two sons and my parents."

  18. 'It was emotional for everyone'published at 18:28 BST 24 May

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was emotional for everyone. We had a job to do in trying to come here and win the game to try to qualify for Europe. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it over the line with the chance at the end. I thought we deserved it this season but football can be cruel. The whole season, the lads have given everyone. It's been a very good season for us.

"Coming back here was emotional for me. The reaction when I went off was incredible; I had goosebumps. It was nice to come back and see the fans. My family is here.

"It's an emotional time seeing someone like Mo [Salah] leaving this club. I thanked him for everything he's done for this club and me. Tough day. For us, as a team, it was tough not getting over the line and then it was tough watching that. The away fans were great again today.

"It was always a tough ask to come here and win. To get so close and not quite get over the line is tough to take. We have to kick on again next year."

West Ham only really started performing when they beat QPR in the FA Cup, and they just haven't been able to pick up enough points. A lot of inconsistency, conceding too many goals, a real disappointment for those fans.
