  2. 'Spurs deservedly lead, West Ham not doing enough'published at 17:03 BST 24 May

    Alan Shearer
    Former England striker

Look, Spurs have been the better team. They've done more and probably deserve their 1-0 lead. It's advantage them at the minute.

West Ham haven't produced anything clear-cut. They've not done enough for a team that has to win. They're going to have to pull it out the bag second-half because that just wasn't good enough.

Seamus Coleman is going through a pretty rigorous warm-up at the moment.

He's set to leave Everton after today's game - bringing an end to his 17-year stay at the Merseyside club.

Surely David Moyes has to give the 37-year-old a few minutes to sign off.

    HT: Tottenham 1-0 Everton

    Paul Robinson
Former Spurs goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

More than half-a-job done for Tottenham the way they have applied themselves today. I just worry, they will think the job is done but there is a big second-half waiting for them.

    Matt Jarvis
Former West Ham on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2

You can hear the boos and you can understand the frustration. They are expecting more and at the moment it is huff and puff.

Summerville and Diouf on the left-hand side are the most attacking threat. Jarrod Bowen has been non-existent.

Leeds look like they are enjoying their football and West Ham look very tense and nervy.

Pep Guardiola ruined a few Fantasy teams today by not selecting Erling Haaland.

It looks like the Norwegian has been given a rest with the World Cup coming up.

The striker is here at Etihad Stadium though, cheering on the team in his manager's last game in charge.

Wolves take a narrow lead into the break. On the balance of chances it would be hard to say they don't deserve it.

Joao Palhinha could prove to be Tottenham's hero today and it wouldn't be the first time.

Palhinha, on loan from Bayern Munich, has registered five times in the league and also scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Wolves - sealing their first win of 2026 last month.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

After a bright start this contest faded is becoming more like a game on the training ground with both sides passing the ball sideways.

Arsenal have shaded it with Gabriel Jesus missing a few easier chances before he finally found the net with a crisp low finish.

There's been a lot of talk about heavy metal football over the past few days. This has been much better by Liverpool - 13 attempts, three on target.

But once again they are struggling to finish in front of goal.

By the way, that save by Alisson to keep out Kevin Schade from close range was phenomenal. The Brazilian stuck out a big leg to keep his side level.

  14. Slim hopes become even slimmerpublished at 16:53 BST 24 May

    HT: West Ham 0-0 Leeds

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at London Stadium

Some boos greet the half-time whistle, West Ham's slim hopes of survival having got even slimmer after that Tottenham goal.

The Hammers not only need a goal, but need Everton to now score twice without reply at Spurs. On top of that the Hammers need to play with a lot more urgency than they did in that first half - all look unlikely at the moment.
