I'm happy that Spurs moved quickly at the start of the window as Gaupset looks like a brilliant player. That said they're still lacking cover in holding midfield.

As a big Arsenal fan, the one signing I would love to see is the return of Viv Miedema, the best goalscorer ever for Arsenal, and in WSL history.

She'll always be the one that got away won't she, Arsenal fans?

Arsenal have been known to pounce late in the transfer window and are in the market for more midfielders, so could they make a surprise move on deadline day?

While we await news of any potential deals from the Gunners today, they have already been casting an eye forward to the summer, with a handful of big moves in the works.

As we reported yesterday England international Georgia Stanway is close to signing a pre-contract agreement to join from Bayern Munich when her contract expires.

The deal does not need to be signed this window but all parties are keen to sort it as soon as possible so they can concentrate on the rest of the season.

They are also in advanced discussions with Barcelona full-back Ona Batlle, formerly of Manchester United, who would come in on a free deal in the summer.

In terms of outgoings it was reported yesterday that full-back Katie McCabe is likely to leave the club this summer after over ten years in north London.

The Republic of Ireland skipper's deal is set to expire come the end of the season, and the Gunners are reportedly looking to refresh the squad ahead of the 2026-26 campaign.

  7. Will Chelsea finally make a signing?published at 10:04 GMT 3 February

Chelsea remain the only WSL club yet to do business in this winter transfer window, with boss Sonia Bompastor having hinted at frustration over a lack of squad depth.

Well, the Blues have had a bid for Nigeria midfielder Jennifer Echegini turned down by Paris St-Germain, but might make another attempt.

However with the French window already shut PSG cannot replace her so it is unlikely they will budge.

There have been four departures already from Stamford Bridge, and that could become five today with USA striker Catarina Macario attracting interest from National Women's Super League (NWSL) clubs.

Chelsea should recall Lola Brown from Crystal Palace as she has played only a handful of minutes in this loan deal. Loan her to a club that appreciates her skills or integrate her within the Chelsea squad. This England U19 star has so much talent to not be playing regularly.

Right, before any more deals spring up let's take a look at what business WSL clubs have managed to complete in this window so far - starting with the so called 'big four'.

  13. What to look out for on deadline daypublished at 09:41 GMT 3 February

    Who is on the move?

One of the stories of the winter window has been the dispute between Everton and striker Kelly Gago.

The France forward has requested to leave the Toffees, with PSG said to be very interested, but nobody has yet met the £500,000 release clause in her contract.

The Toffees might still do some business elsewhere though, with Roma midfielder Zara Kramzar on the verge of joining on loan with an obligation-to-buy clause. She's set to undego a medical at some point today.

To flight disruptors London City Lionesses are hoping to add one more before the deadline but still have work to do.

They have form for late deals having splashed out "around £1m" for France international Grace Geyoro on deadline day this past summer.

They are definitely a club to keep an eye on....

  14. What is Liverpool's GK situation?published at 09:37 GMT 3 February

BBC Sport women’s football news reporter

It's been a difficult campaign for Rafaela Borggrafe since joining Liverpool in the summer.

The goalkeeper had a six-game ban for using discriminatory language towards a team-mate and has struggled to claim the number shirt since, with Jennifer Falk impressing since joining on loan in January.

Falk's arrival drops Borggrafe down the pecking order, while Liverpool still have young goalkeeper Faye Kirby and experienced stopper Rachael Laws in their ranks.

The loan move to Bayer Leverkusen allows Borggrafe a chance to play regular football and reignite a career which has stalled. Her long-term future is uncertain but she has at least another year on her contract at Liverpool.

It will mean Liverpool have work to do in the goalkeeping department in the summer with Laws' contract coming to an end, and Falk's loan agreement running out.

It's understood Liverpool are very keen to sign Falk on a permanent deal and there are various options in her loan contract that means they can explore that in the summer - but it will be the player's decision.

One deal that has been confirmed in the last hour or so is the departure of goalkeeper Rafaela Borggrafe from Liverpool.

Having made four appearances for the Reds across all competitions since joining this past summer, she's now joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

  17. Will the top five be busy?published at 09:27 GMT 3 February

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter

With plenty of clubs doing their business early in the window, it could be a quiet day.

But you never know what can happen on transfer deadline day and there’s still clubs in need of players.

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor voiced her frustration at their recent recruitment and so far the Blues, who are seemingly out of the WSL title race, have not brought anyone in. Will they act today?

European champions Arsenal have been busy getting their ducks in order for the summer but they do love getting involved in deadline day drama… It’s well-known that they want more midfielders in the squad so will they spring a surprise?

There’s been no rumblings of further incomings at Manchester City or Manchester United. Tottenham are not expected to be busy as things stand either.

  19. When is the paperwork deadline?published at 09:19 GMT 3 February

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter

The official deadline for the transfer window is 23:00 GMT tonight but it’s rare we don’t have clubs announcing moves after that time.

That’s because as long as the paperwork is in on time, the deals are considered to be completed.

The documents are in line with Fifa’s player registration rules and are sent to WSL Football - the company overseeing England’s top two tiers.

Moves between clubs domestically have to be done by 23:00, while players moving from clubs abroad have another hour to sign their contracts. BUT their paperwork still has to be with WSL Football by 23:00.

Everton have already booked in a medical for this afternoon at Finch Farm with Roma’s Zara Kramzar set to join on loan. They will no doubt have contracts drafted to ensure they meet that deadline.
