I think London City Lionesses will make a move late on deadline day for Holly McNamara as she definitely fits in with their recruitment policy of shopping for future European champions and with Sofia Jakobsson gone they need to bolster the forward line.

It's been a fairly low-key transfer window for London City Lionesses, although the arrival of Delphine Cascarino was a big one.

They have been a bit chaotic in the past and have needed to offload players as a result.

However, they're working on another addition today - we don't have details yet - and are already planning for a big summer.

With several names on the market available as free transfers upon the expiration of their contracts, London City are sniffing around.

Their transfer policy this year has been to target the best young players in the hope of developing them into future Champions League winners, as well as adding a sparkling of world-class talent.

Done deal alert and it's another loan.

Brighton striker Olivia Johnson has joined WSL 2 club Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The 18-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Bristol City in the second tier, scoring one goal in eight appearances, before returning to Brighton last month.

On Sunday, they had no answers for Man City and whatever their plan was, it didn't really work. Worryingly, the Chelsea players seemed to stop a bit towards the end, which you don’t usually see from them.

But I don’t want to batter them too much — they’ve been amazing these past few years. Sonia Bompastor has come in for Emma Hayes, won the league in her first season but is now trying to put her own stamp on things with new formations and personnel, so it’s a period of transition.

Whenever a club moves from a manager who has been there for years, there’s adjustment.

  6. Potter not expected to leavepublished at 12:43 GMT 3 February

Leicester City tested Chelsea's waters with a loan offer for young England midfielder Lexi Potter this morning but the Blues are not interested.

She's considered a key player at the club and remains under contract with them until 2028. It's unlikely she will be going anywhere.

Surprised more players aren't tired of sitting on the bench at Chelsea. Bompastor doesn't really rotate much, and world-class players get about 30 minutes on the pitch per month. Most players want to play, not just the big wage.

  8. Would you have expected Chelsea to be more active?published at 12:35 GMT 3 February

Potentially, but I feel as though Chelsea always do really good business in windows anyway and in the summer.

There's been talk about the midfielder from PSG [Jennifer Echegini], but Chelsea have got a really good squad already. They've built one for the future and have experienced players as well.

It's just at this moment in time they haven't been performing to the expectations we have seen.

  9. Why is Nusken looking at options elsewhere?published at 12:30 GMT 3 February

The 25-year-old renewed her contract in October, extending her deal until 2027 without an option for a further season, but has started only two Women’s Super League matches this campaign.

During those discussions with Chelsea, she expressed her love for the club and also her desire to play more minutes than she had the previous season.

Chelsea midfielder Sjoeke Nusken is increasingly frustrated by her lack of game time and is considering her options over a future move.

Although she accepts she will not leave in January, she is targeting a summer move away from west London if her situation does not improve.

Chelsea consider Nusken an important squad player at this time and, with her contract not due to expire until next summer, they can command a transfer fee in future negotiations.

I'm not surprised it's been a quiet day so far.

You may have a couple of surprise but not major signings, maybe towards the bottom end of the league.

With no more arrivals or departures expected at Tottenham, here's a reminder of their transfer window...

    Ins:

    Outs:

    • Ashleigh Neville (Defender, to Leicester)
    • Martha Thomas (Forward, to Leicester on loan)
    • Kit Graham (Forward, to Ipswich on loan)
    • Anna Csiki (Midfielder, to Roma on loan)

I’ve really enjoyed watching Spurs this season. Martin Ho has done a really good job of propelling them into the top half of the league and making them more consistent. That's something Tottenham have struggled with in seasons gone by.

He's brought in the likes of Julie Blakstad - she's young, she's got WSL experience and is the right age so you can really mould and push her as much as you want.

Signe Gaupset from Norway has got huge quality and potential too. I think Tottenham have been really clever this window and are going from strength to strength.

Tottenham's business is also done for the day having acted early in the window to nail their five targets.

They are already looking at plans for the summer and feel the squad will be in good shape by then.

Supporters may have liked to have seen a defensive midfielder and a centre-back come through the door, but they are positions we believe the club are already looking at for the summer.

The arrival of Signe Gaupset in particular was a really exciting one and they have definitely been one of the most successful clubs in the window.

Martin Ho is a coach the club think can develop world-class talent and they have targeted those young stars.

The arrival of Maika Hamano on loan from Chelsea also brings quality for the second half of the season.

So, nothing else expected from West Ham. It's been a busy window for them, but what do you make of their ins and outs?

    Ins:

    Outs:

    • Amber Tysiak (Defender, to Union Berlin)
    • Manuela Pavi (Forward, to Deportivo Toluca)
    • Anouk Denton (Defender, to Bay FC)
    • Anna Csiki (Midfielder, returns to Tottenham from loan)

  17. West Ham's business complete?published at 11:54 GMT 3 February

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter

We're not expecting anything else to happen at West Ham today.

They have had to fend off a few bids for top-scorer Shekiera Martinez in the window I'm told but they are happy to have kept hold of her.

She's a key player for the club and they have lost several regular starters in the window, albeit for good money.

They have reinvested the money from other sales - such as Amber Tysiak's £150,000 move to Union Berlin and Anouk Denton's £200,000 switch to Bay FC - into new signings.

I think Leicester have recruited well during January. We are still desperate for a play-maker to fill the role Momiki vacated. We're also missing some quality on the wings. So I'm hoping to see a couple more signings in the door today.

  20. Arsenal's goalkeeping woespublished at 11:40 GMT 3 February

    Arsenal

Speaking of Arsenal, let's take a step back to that earlier news of them looking for a goalkeeper ahead of tonight's deadline.

The number one spot has been a bit of a problem area for them this season, hasn't it?

Starting keeper Daphne van Domselaar missed large stretches of the first half of the campaign with tendon and quad issues, though she was back on the field on Sunday in place of stand-in Anneke Borbe.

The German was stretchered off in the final seconds of the side's Champions Cup triumph over Corinthians on Sunday after a worrying collision with team-mate Lotte Wubben-Moy. She is recovering at home after going to hospital for checks.

And don't forget long-term goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger is out for the foreseeable with an ACL injury suffered in training in October.

All that considered it looks a wise move to look for more depth in that area.
